Long Gone and Moved On (chapter 20)

"Alec! Truth or dare?" Mase asked from across the cirlce created around the fire.

Yes, we really were playing truth or dare.

Yes, we knew it was a childish game.

Yes, it was so much fun!

"Can we just make it truth? Because no one has picked dare in an hour and it is so pointless asking! TRUTH!" Alec ranted. He seemed happier than usual, I don't know why though.

"Fine! No truth or dare, just truth," Mase laughed, then thought about his question. "OOH I've got a good one! What is the best thing about the prettiest girl here?"

"Do I have to say her name?" Alec clarified, and Mason shook his head, no.

"Okay then. Well, honestly I think it is pretty clear who I think the prettiest girl here is, and her best feature is her eyes," Alec answered truthfully, and I was confused. Everyone agreed with him, and I was seriously confused!

Who was he talking about?

"Tam! Truth or.. Truth?" Alec asked, forgetting about the deal made earlier.

"Hmm.. I think I'll pick truth!" I answered thoughtfully.

"Okay... If you could have one thing right now, what would it be?" He asked, looking at me with an expectant expression.

"Thing or person?" I clarified.

"Either," Alec said, a little unsure now.

"My dad. Bronte! Truth or truth? Truth, cool. What made you like Seth?" I changed the subject quickly, not wanting anyone to question me.

"Uh..." Bronte trailed, surprised by my outburst, "I don't know, he's always been nice to me and let's face it, he's hot." She continued, her cheeks going red, never looking Seth's way.

He noticed her blush and kissed her on the cheek, making her blush more. They really were cute together.

We contined the game for a while, until it was Alec's turn again. Hunter was asking.

"If you could kiss anyone here, who would it be?" Hunter smirked, and Alec glared at him, not answering.

"What?" Hunter asked, then something seemed to click, but it was a second too late.

Alec got up and walked away, leaving half of us confused.

I think all the guys knew what he was thinking, but all of us girls didn't.

"Shit. I didn't think about that! Damn it! I'm such an idiot!" Hunter exclaimed, covering his face with his hands.

"Hunter, don't worry about it. But someone should really go talk to him..." Mase trailed, and i volunteered myself.

I walked down the path and when I got to the opening, I looked for Alec. It was almost dark, and it was very hard to see, but I saw a shadow next to the water and I assumed it was him.

I walked toward the ocean, and was right, it was Alec.

I silently sat down beside him.

"Alec, what's wrong?" I asked him, looking at the side of his face.

"Nothing..." He mumbled, but I didn't believe him for one second.

"Alec. That's bullshit and you know it! What's wrong?" I repeated, my voice stronger. I wasn't taking no for an answer.

"I'm sick of pretending Tam!" He huffed, and I immediately knew that he was talking about.

"Ya... I completely understand," I mumbled, looking away.

"You do?" Alec asked, looking at me this time.

"Ya..." I repeated, still not looking at him.

"Are you ever going to tell me who?" Alec nearly groaned.

"Nope," I answered, popping the 'p'.

"Damn it..." He trailed, looking back out to the ocean.

I wrapped my arms around his waist and leaned my head on his shoulder.

"I wish I could help, Alec," I whispered, and Alec leaned back, looking at me.

"You can..." He trailed, and I was confused.

"Can I do something without it meaning anything what-so-ever? No repercussions, no comments, no nothing?" Alec asked, as we faced each other.

I couldn't find my words so I just nodded.

He wrapped one of his hands around my neck, and the other around my waist.

He pulled me closer to him, and pressed his lips to mine.

Finally!

I never believed people when they talked about sparks, but in that moment I understood what they were talking about.

My hands moved to his waist, and he didn't make any move to pull away. I didn't either.

"ALEC! TAMSIN! WHERE ARE YOU?" A voice screamed, and we jumped apart.

I burst laughing, Alec along with me.

"Damn Alec, your mystery girl is one lucky person!" I said, and started laughing again.

"Nah, not really," Alec replied, laughing along with me.

"There you guys are!" Dahlia screamed from behind us, and we turned to face her. Tristan was with her, and they were holding hands.

Again I wished for Alec and I to be like that, but then I decided that I had no right to complain, he just kissed me.

Oh my freaking god! ALEC KISSED ME!

In that moment, it finally sunk in, and a small squeal escaped my lips. Alec looked at me questioningly, but I shook my head. We started laughing again.

When Dahlia and Tris got to us we were uncontrollably laughing, and they looked at us like we were aliens.

"Just wanted to let you know that they are cooking marshmallows and they are rapidly dissapearing..." Dahlia trailed, and our laughter slowed.

"Nah, you just wanted an excuse to make out with Tristan!" Alec exclaimed, and I started laughing again, Tristan and Alec along with me.

Dahlia flushed bright red, so Tristan answered for her.

"Ya.. She did. But who cares?"

We walked back to camp together, joking and laughing at Dahlia's expense. When we got back, half of the marshmallows had been eaten. So I went straight to the pile of sticks, grabbed one and started cooking marshmallows.

I didn't actually like marshmallows, I just liked cooking them for other people, so I gave all of them away.

We all sat around the fire talking and laughing. After a few minutes, I decided I was too tired to stay up, so I wished everyone goodnight and walked to my tent.

I changed into my sweatpants and my coldplay t-shirt, and snuggled up in my sleeping bag.

Needless to say, I couldn't stop thinking about that kiss.

The sparks made me feel electric, and I suddenly had so much energy that I couldn't sleep.

I stayed in bed, trying to calm down for what felt like hours.

I listened to the conversations outside, and finally started getting tired when there was only Mase, Alec and Hunter left.

"Alec, I'm so sorry about before! I wasn't thinking!" Hunter exclaimed, his voice apologetic.

"No, it's fine," Alec replied, sounding happy.

"What are you smiling about? I haven't seen you smile so much for a while..." Mase trailed suspiciously.

Alec mumbled something back, and Mase squealed.

"Keep your voice down!" Hunter scolded, and I couldn't hear anything else that they said.

About ten minutes later, Alec opened the tent and climbed in. I was facing the side of the tent, and I think he thought I was asleep.

I could hear Alec zip his sleeping bag up, and then he did something that surprised me.

He put his arm around me and pulled me closer to him.

I fell asleep in Alec's arms, and I couldn't have asked for anything better.
