~CHAPTER 1~

"Tamsin! Get up or you will be late! AGAIN!"

Getting up in the morning is definetly not something that I enjoy doing, especially on Mondays. Mondays are the worst, purely because they are at the start of the week, and there are another four days left until the weekend.

I lay in bed for a few more seconds, soaking up the warmth that my covers provide me.

Next thing I new, Grandpa was pulling the covers off me. Clearly, I had fallen back asleep again.

"Sorry Grandpa," I said, to an amused face. He was staring down at me and trying not to laugh... Just because he was a morning person and I wasn't!!!

"You have 37 minutes until school starts, and your brother is driving today, so get your ass out of bed so he doesn't get annoyed at you," was all my Grandfather replied. I could tell he wasn't angry, he just didn't want Liam to get pissed off again... Lets just say I sleep in a lot, and we have to share a car so he has to wait for me.

I ran downstairs to put the kettle on, said good morning to my grandma and rushed back upstairs to my room. Some days, I wished to go back to my old school with uniforms... It was so much easier to decide what to wear. Then I realised that I shouldn't think about that anymore.

Just shake the thought away, Tamsin!

I pulled on my light blue, ripped jeans, and my black Coldplay t-shirt. I looked in the mirror.

I guess this will have to do for today.

I grabbed my backpack and ran back downstairs to make my tea. I always had tea in the morning, chai latte to be specific.

When I got to the kitchen Grandma had already made my chai and put it in my travel mug. She was so generous.

"Thanks Grandma!" I exclaimed, and kissed her quickly on the cheek before grabbing my mug and making my way to the door.

I turned around to smile at her before I left, and she looked at me with a smile on her face.

"Stop worrying, Tamsin! You look beautiful, as always! Have a nice day." She said in quickly, as not to keep me from school.

Oh how well she knew me.

I walked out the door and to the car, but Liam wasn't there. I ran back inside to find my brother on the couch in the living room.

"LIAM! It's time to go!" I shouted at him.

He just rolled his peircing blue eyes at me.

"Calm down, Tam! We have time!" He flicked his dark brown hair across his face and smoothed it down with his hand.

I looked down at my watch and back up to my brother. There were 37 minutes until school began. My brother smirked knowingly at me, and was trying to keep in his laugh.

Grandpa!!!

I left the room without any more words from my brother, to find my Grandpa. I walked past a still-smiling Grandma in the kitchen. Obviously she was in on the joke too. She just pointed to the study, where I found my Grandpa sitting at his desk on his laptop. He was smirking, still not looking up from his laptop, and I could tell he knew I was in the room.

I cleared my throat and he started to explain himself before I could say anything.

"I know you are annoyed at me, but really, you could never stay mad at me. Firstly, you love me too much. Secondly, you are actually early and can actually eat breakfast this morning, " Damn it! I thought he didn't know about that! "And yes, I do know that you don't eat breakfast, and it's not good for you. So go into the kitchen, I made you a fruit salad before I woke you up. You have time to eat that before you go to school."

As much as I didn't like getting up early, I was really lucky I had a Grandpa that cared about me so much. I hugged him before going back to the kitchen. Grandma had the fruit salad on the counter, with a fork next to the bowl in front of my chair.

I loved my grandparents!

I ate the fruit salad quickly, brushed my teeth and left for school.

Today was my day to play my CD's, the only good thing about Mondays. Of course I got the appropriate groaning from Liam, but I was feeling kind today, so I put on a CD I knew he loved; Coldplay's 'Mylo Xyloto' CD. He glanced over at me and grinned, and started to belt out the lyrics to Hurts Like Heaven.

When I didn't start singing with him, he looked at me again. I knew this look, he had given it to me many times.

"I just don't feel like it okay?" I cut him, before he could say anything.

"You and I both know that is bullshit. You are so good and you love it! It's not fair that you stop just because..." He stopped talking and took a deep breath. I knew what the end of his sentence was, and I knew why he couldn't finish it, I couldn't have either.

Are we ever going to get through this? I highly doubted so at this point.

I put my hand on his arm and he breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that I was here and that I felt the same way.

At school we both got out of the car, before going our separate ways.

"Tam! Get your ass over here!" I looked over at part of our perfect little world called Africa, also known as Mason. I should probably explain the 'perfect little world' comment. There are four of us in our little group, and we make up four of the continents of the world. Honestly it sounds much 'deeper' than it is. Mason is Africa, because he is very cultural, Bronte is Europe, as she has European in her background. I am Oceania, because I am Australian and apparently 'I look really Australian', and Dahlia is Asia because she loves Asia.

Yeah we really aren't that creative, but it kind of just ended up that way.

I smiled at him, but he could tell I was a little off.

"What happened?" Mase asked, clearly concerned. He looked at me with piercing green eyes, made prominent by his dark skin and hair.

Damn, I had managed to bring down the mood down and class hadn't even started yet.

"Nothing," I mumbled. He must have figured that 'it' had been brought up again, so he pulled me into a hug and kissed my wavy beach-blonde hair.

"I know you're not okay, but you will be! We will help you through this." I smilled up at him, his arm still around my shoulder, as we walked to our lockers together.

I have a small feeling that I will be feeling better by the end of the day...
