6;)Bearing with you

The walk to school was wet, which wasn't an unusual thing in England, Louis guessed. He was just unlucky to get into the heavy rain. His fringe was soaked at the front where the hood didn't cover as the rain came from the opposite direction and his bag was wet too.

He sighed relieved when he stepped into the dry school. What he didn't expect was that Harry was by his side within two seconds. "Hey, Louis."

Louis turned sidewards, "Err... Hi?"

"Why are you so..." Harry waved his hand around, not being able to find the right adjective.

Louis furrowed his eyebrows, "So what?"

"So... surprised."

"Oh... errm," Louis wasn't sure how to answer this so he just shrugged.

Harry answered anyways, even though he didn't even know what Louis was asking himself. That could only mean one thing, Louis thought, they were soulmates... Louis laughed at his own ridiculousness. It wasn't until he noticed Harry looking at him weirdly that he realized that he had just laughed out loud at nothing.

This caused him to giggle again, "Sorry, what were you saying?"

Harry couldn't help the grin that spread over his face. He had to admit that Louis' giggle was adorable. It practically screamed gay. "Anyways, as I was saying," Harry elaborated (even though Louis forgot what he had said in the beginning), "I'll walk you to your class. Calum said boyfriends do that."

"What? But we haven't got class together until second period."

Harry shrugged and followed Louis to his locker, "I know. Boyfriends do it anyways."

"But then why am I not walking you to your class but the other way round?"

"Because I'm the boy in this relationship, obviously."

Louis ignored the twinge in his stomach at the word 'relationship' and glared at Harry instead, "You are not." He protested.

"I am." Harry grinned, looking much too pleased with himself for Louis' liking.

"You're not. Just because I'm the gay one doesn't mean I'm the girl or whatever." They had reached Louis' locker and he began rummaging through it.

Seeing Louis' messy locker Harry chuckled, "Well, you wouldn't be a very neat housewife."

Louis glared at him again, but he couldn't keep the hard expression for long at the wide adorable grin on his crush's face. So he just rolled his eyes and went to walk towards the right classroom but Harry stopped him with a hand on his upper arm. Then he held his arms out at Louis. The blue eyed looked back at him with a confused expression and it was Harry's turn to roll his eyes.

He stepped forward and took Louis' books from his arms, "I'll take those, silly."

Louis furrowed his eyebrows, "I already told you. I'm not gonna play the girl in this."

"But I'm your boyfriend. Boyfriends do that."

"Okay, then I'll take yours," Louis saw Harry open his mouth to protest, "Don't tell me I don't. You said that's what boyfriends do and I'm your boyfriend too, soo..." He didn't bother ending his sentence, just stomping to Harry's locker, having noticed that he didn't have his books yet.

Also, neither of them mentioned that they never pointed out that this wasn't even a real relationship, they just talked about relationship and boyfriends without the prefix 'fake-'. Louis guessed it was because they were in school and therefore surrounded by the people they were supposed to fool.

The problem was, it almost felt like they were at least friends. They were arguing almost like an old married couple and while Louis was still a bit nervous around him, it also felt natural and comfortable to interact with Harry. But Louis also knew that Harry was that kind of person who could make everyone feel at ease.

Louis watched as Harry took out the needed books and closed his locker before turning to him. It would be a lie to say that all of his movements were smooth and graceful but Louis found it hopelessly endearing.

"We should hurry-..." Harry interrupted himself and smiled. Louis was confused since he looked like something akin dreamy.

"Hey guys." Louis heard behind himself and turned around and-

Oh.

Right. Harry had still this crush on Jesy. Who was now standing infront of them. With Harry drooling over her.

Okay no, actually he was just smiling at her. The look he gave her though, it hurt, making his heart ache, as cliché as that sounded. It was just, they were just talking, acting like a normal couple, talking like they had known each other for ages. And Louis could swear that Harry had enjoyed it too.

"Hi beautiful." Harry grinned.

Jesy giggled stupidly at that. At least Louis found it stupid. Of Course Harry was pleased with himself. "Aww, you're so cute." She cooed.

"Thanks, not too bad yourself." Jesy giggled again. If anyone didn't know Louis and Harry were 'dating' this could easily be mistaken as flirting. It probably was, either way.

Louis didn't like it. But he knew this was Harry's purpose with this whole 'playing gay'-thing. Flirting with his crush without seeming like a creep and win her heart because girls liked gays, apparently.

"Harry, you said we should hurry-..." Louis tried, but he was just waved off. Like a nuisance. Like a noisy bug. Harry didn't even look at him. And, fuck, that hurt. Burned like stinging-nettle. "Okay, I'll go to my class then." Nobody bothered to give him an aknowledgement before he took his books from Harry and walked to his class room.

Alone.

His throat had closed up and the lump threatened to bring tears into his eyes. It stung. He tried to keep the tears from escaping. He knew this was gonna happen, at least he should have known. He thought he was prepared for this but... it didn't help. He just... it almost felt like he had him, like he was something to Harry, when in reality, he was just the instrument for him to get what he really wanted, a girl. It hurt to know that he didn't even have a chance with him, no matter if he tried. Harry wasn't into boys, wasn't into him.

His stomach felt heavy and his heart felt like it was squeezed. He shouldn't have let himself get closer to Harry. It had been just a crush that had been going on for a really long time. And he had been so careful not to fall any deeper.

Fuck, he failed.

When Louis reached the class room he leaned against the wall next to the door, closing his eyes for a moment and taking a deep breath. He wouldn't let this get to him. He had better things to think of anyway. Like Niall. He could always count on Niall to distract him and cheer him up.

With that in mind he entered the room, forcing on a smile.

,',',',',',',',',',',',',',',',',',

It was the last break of the day. After this there was only geography left and then Louis could go home. He had avoided Harry the whole day because he found it hard to face him without getting an uncomfortable twinge in the pit of his stomach. He knew it would get better. It wasn't that big of a deal. He would get over it. Tomorrow he could continue playing Harry's boyfriend.

"Lou!" Louis blinked a few times to focus on his surroundings, seeing Michael looking at him questioningly, "Are you even listening?"

"Err..." Louis cleared his throat, "No, I'm sorry, sorry. What were you saying?"

Michael shook his head dismissingly, "Not that important."

"No, Mikey. I'm sorry. Tell me."

"It's really not that important."

"But Mike. I-"

"Lou, calm down. It's really not that important."

"But you can't just say some-..."

"Louis," Niall interrupted, "There comes your boyfriend." His tone was more mocking than teasing and friendly and Louis felt guilty for feeling like he was right.

"Hey guys." Harry greeted them. Harry stepped next to Louis and went to wrap an arm around his waist but Louis stepped sidewards towards towards Ashton. He didn't dare to look at Harry but if he did he would see what Niall saw.

Niall had seen the interaction and frowned thoughtfully. Harry looked like a kicked puppy at Louis' rejection. Like he was not only disappointed, but also hurt. And he also gave Louis worried glances. Did that mean... Niall resolved to talk to him about it later on.

"Hi." Niall just then noticed Calum standing next to Harry, looking kind of nervous. "Errm, Ashton, can I talk to you?"

Ashton looked at him in disbelieve, "Me?" Calum nodded.

"O- okay."

Calum and Ashton distanced themselves a few meters and came to halt at the fir. Niall, Michael and Louis made eyecontact and chuckled, all thinking the same thing. Harry just looked at them confusedly until they unconspiciously (or maybe not) scooted closer to Ashton and Calum until they could listen to what they were saying, staying as quiet as they could.

"...-not take this. This too much." Ashton said as soon as Niall could hear something.

"But this is about your sister, isn't it? Come on. If you can't take it for yourself, do it for your sister." Calum said.

"But... but why? We're not even friends." Ashton said, almost too quiet to understand.

"We can change that." Calum said.

"Oooh." Niall's eyes widened when he saw that he was a bit too loud, Ashton and Calum looking at him, blushing. "Oh, sorry for ruining your moment. It just sounded awfully like those chick flicks."

Louis and Michael bursted out laughing while Harry just smiled quietly to himself. Louis looked at his wrist watch. "Guys, we should head back in. Lesson starts in about three minutes."

"Yeah," Niall agreed, "You go. I come after with Harry."

Harry looked at him surprised, and Louis shot him a worried look, "Ni-..."

"I won't scold him. Don't worry." When he saw that Louis still was hesistant he assured, "Lou, trust me, come on." Louis nodded and they walked a few meters infront of Niall and Harry so they couldn't hear them.

"Harry."

"Yeah?"

"What do you want from Louis?"

Harry looked confused, "What do you mean?"

Niall sighed, thinking for a few seconds but noticing that their way wasn't that long and they almost had to part ways, "Okay, I'm just gonna cut the chase. Do you like Louis?"

Harry stopped apruptly, "What? No!"

"What's so wrong with liking him?"

"What? Nothing."

"Then why are you getting so defensive."

Harry laughed, "Because I'm straight and the whole point of this is getting the girls. How do you even come up with something that ridiculous? Because that's ridiculous. I don't like Louis like that."

With that he stomped away irritatedly, leaving Niall there with a thoughtful expression.
