Chapter 13 ❣︎︎ One Week!

I was happy these past few days. I could not believe that a week had passed. I had been going out with Cry Baby for a whole week. Allison was out of sight and out of mind.

Maybe I should get him a gift. Would he get me one? Would he remember that we had been dating a week? Maybe I should not make a big deal out of nothing. I was just happy we had made it to a week.

That was all.

I sigh. I could write him a poem just in case to have something to give to him. No harm in showing him that I cared right? When I got up that morning he was already up. I wondered where he went off to? He normally slept in. We both did. But not today.

I yawn as I lay in his bed. We had no luck finding an apartment to call our own yet. But we were looking all over town for a place to call our own. Our first home. I could not wait to move in together. Cry Baby was excited about that as well.

"Morning!" Cry Baby says as he comes in with a tray full of breakfast.

"What is all this?" I ask feeling happy he made me something good to eat. Scrambles eggs, toast and bacon to.

"Happy one week together that is what this is for. Think I would forget?" he asks me.

He sets the food down on the bed. Then he kisses me on the cheek.

"Thank you Cry Baby! I was going to say something but I thought it might be silly" I admit.

"No, we made it. And before you know it we will make it to a month. And a year wait and see baby" he vows to me.

"I know we will" I agree as I take a bite into a piece of toast.

"I have a lead on a place in town. Want to come with me to check it out?" he asks me.

"I would love to" I say.

"I can't believe how happy you have made me Ronnie" he replies. "I finally have you in my life. I promise you I will always take care of you"

"I know you will. I will take good care of you to Cry Baby" I remind him. "love is a two-way street. Not a one-way street"

"Right" he agrees.

He smiles at me. My heart melts.

After we share breakfast, I get dressed. Then we hop on his bike and head into town. We go over to an apartment complex. And look over a two-bedroom place. The owner seemed to like us a lot. I hoped we would hear back from them very soon.

"What do you think? This might be the place Ronnie" Cry Baby tells me as he looks it over once more.

"I hope so. It is really cute" I reply. "I would not mind living here. It is not too far from Turkey Point"

"That was what I was thinking. Your sister lives right near us as well" he points out.

"It is perfect. I do hope that we hear back from them soon" I say hopefully.

"Hop on let's take a ride" he offers.

I climb on his bike. We head into town. Driving around as the sun shimmers in the clouds.

The day was bright and beautiful. This way was special to us. We head back to Turkey Point. Everyone was heading to the beach for the day.

"Want to have a picnic lunch here?" Cry Baby asks me. "I know a little quiet spot around here. We can be alone" he offers.

"I love that idea. I can help pack one" I add. We head inside. Pepper was making her kids lunch.

"How is the apartment hunting going?" Pepper asks me.

"We might have found our place at last" I tell her with joy.

"I am happy for you guys. Want some lunch?" she offers.

"We are going to have lunch in the park here. Alone" says Cry Baby.

"Sounds romantic" Pepper says to me with a smile.

I make some sandwiches. Cry Baby gets some chips and drinks for us. He packs it all up for us to take. Then the rest of the gang comes in. Milton, my sister, and Wanda to. Everyone is chatting away.

"Where are you guys going?" wonders Wanda.

"Having a picnic." I tell her.

"That sounds like fun! I am game" says Wanda.

"Oh me to! I would not mind going" says my sister.

"You guys were not invited. This is a date" grumbles Cry Baby.

"I don't mind. We can have them along" I offer.

He groans. "No, it is our date. Sorry guys another time. Ronnie and I are celebrating our one week anniversary" he informs the gang.

"Congrats" says my sister.

"I get that" Wanda says.

They hug us. Then we are on our way to be alone together.

"I am sorry. I am used to the gang going with us. I am not used to being alone with you. I love it though" I tell Cry Baby as he lays out a blanket for us to rest on.

"I will always make time for you Ronnie. I love being alone with you. I had in the past. But they would never let me. Now I can say something. It feels good to" he chuckles.

I lean in kissing him.

"That whole time I wanted to be alone with you too" I point out. "I wish we could have said something sooner"

"Me to" he agrees.

I feed him a chip. He feeds me one.

"I have something for you" he informs me.

"What?" I wonder.

"Close your eyes" he demands.

I close my eyes. I feel him put a necklace around my neck. Then I touch it. It was a heart pendant.

"Cry Baby this is so lovely" I gush.

It was a gold heart necklace.

"You own my heart. Happy anniversary" he softly tells me. We kiss. I felt so loved.

"I love you. Happy anniversary" I reply.

"I love you with all my heart Ronnie" he reminds me. "never forget that"

I never would. I felt like the luckiest woman in the world.
