Ten.

A tear fell from Jungkook's eye.

It shocked him, as it made its way down his chin.

The little droplet splashed on Jia's eye, and trailed down the side of her face.

Jungkook had never cried before. Not for his mother. Not for his father.

Not even for his brother, the most precious being to him.

But looking at Jia so tenderly, he realised he was wrong.

That this dead woman before him was more dear.

Another round of gunshots snapped the boy back to reality.

Taehyung let out a hiss of pain beside him. "Look out!"

Jungkook looked up to find Jimin's gun inches away from him.

"Right," Jimin crowed. "Should have watched out for your whore's back than your own's."

"Shut the fuck up or it's your back that I'll tear out," growled Jungkook, slowly getting up.

"Uh, uh," Jimin warned, "One inch and I blast your brains out."

"Use that gun you shit and I'll use mine," snapped Taehyung, setting it on Jimin.

"I welcome death, shitheads," he jeered.

"And I embrace it!" Jungkook roared, and charged on him.

Jimin was too slow for the boy as he got toppled over.

They rolled onto the floor, slamming against the wall.

Jungkook, unfortunately, got pinned by Jimin.

The man slid him up so they both stood. He then wrapped his little hands around Jungkook's throat.

And started to choke him.

Taehyung ran to get Jimin off of the boy, but he was stopped.

Jungkook dared a glance at him, and that meant enough.

I will kill him myself.

Jimin's smiled as Jungkook let out a strangled cry. "We waited, Kookie. We waited, but you'd fled like a coward."

The boy couldn't answer him, so Jimin continued. "I told you, didn't I? That I'd strike where you'd least expect it?"

He squeezed him some more. "You should have come back. Then I wouldn't have ended you and your whore like this-"

Jimin cried out as Jungkook kneed him in the crotch.

His hands went straight there as he stumbled backward.

Jungkook spat blood at the side and cracked his knuckles, storming to where Jimin was crouched down.

He raised the man by the collar and knocked the shit out of him.

Jimin flew to the side, hitting the opposite wall and falling to the floor.

Jungkook kneeled down and smashed Jimin's head against the floor, digging his nails in his throat.

Blood welled up in the cuts. The boy dug his fingers in harder.

"Why should I come from the whore you call her," Jungkook jeered, "When she was the one who ever made me happy?

Why should I come back to you," he snarled, "When you, along with my 'friends', made me feel like shit?"

Jimin was about to say something when Jungkook punched him.

And again. And again.

"I wanted to kill myself in your company," he guttered, "But I figured killing all of you would make me feel much better."

Jimin started to choke. Jungkook grabbed his face and leaned in.

"This is for taking away my only happiness," the boy whispered.

And cracked Jimin's neck.

The man stopped struggling. His head lolled to the side, eyes wide open.

Jungkook didn't loosen his grip on his face.

Taehyung came over to the boy, pulling him off the dead body.

"It's over now," he muttered to Jungkook. "He's gone."

He sagged against Taehyung, gripping his arms as he tried to get up.

"Taehyung..." Jungkook got out. His eyes caught the sight of Jia laying on the floor, a dreamlike expression on her face.

Jungkook got off the man, willing his feet to move to his love, his only strand of happiness. Now cut off.

He took Jia's face in his hands. Soft. She was so soft, and beautiful and glorious and-

Jungkook rested his forehead against hers.

He felt a hand on his back. He did not care.

For after that, as if a tight leash snapped, Jungkook burst into tears.

Taehyung rubbed his back but it was no good.

The boy did not care as he cried for a treasure he'd never receive again.

-

Jungkook had a rose this time.

A little boy was selling them on the way, and he knew he had to get at least one.

He crossed the street to the church, where slabs of stone lined the lawn next to it.

The priest bid Jungkook hello, and he nodded back.

He went up the stone stairs and walked over to the grave at the far right.

It was simple, really. A circular slab of stone jutting out of the grass.

Eun Jia was carved at the top. Jungkook did not know how old she was.

Jungkook brought his black coat tighter around him, the lapels grazing his nose.

He put his hands in his pockets, staring at the grave.

Eun Jia deserved to live a better life than she was given.

Eun Jia deserved better.

Tears threatened to come out. Jungkook willed them in.

He felt a hand on his shoulder.

Taehyung gave him a sad look as he stepped beside him. "You shouldn't have come here if it's making you upset."

The man gave his friend a sad smile. "I come here to be happy."

Taehyung's confusion was clear. "How does coming to Jia's grave make you happier?"

Jungkook looked back at the gravestone. "Whenever I feel down, I come here. To the person who made me want to live again."

He kneeled down. "I feel her presence sometimes. It's...It's still so full of life. It fills me with it." a pause. "It makes me a little happier."

"Jungkook..."

"Don't worry about me, Tae," he said. "I've seen good days these five years."

Jungkook sighed. "It's just...There will always be an empty place in my heart. A place forever reserved for that woman but will never be filled."

"I don't want to cry right now, Jungkook."

A chuckle escaped the man as he stood up. "Sorry."

Taehyung put his elbow on Jungkook's shoulder. "Let's lighten up the mood. I'm hungry and am dying for some lunch."

Jungkook rolled his eyes. "Let's go then. I'm famished as well."

Taehyung started into a walk. "Come on, then."

The man watched his friend to go forward.

Maybe I should move on. Continue the life I must live.

Jungkook looked back at the grave.

A smile crept onto his lips.

Farewell, my love.

Jungkook caught up with Taehyung.

He looked up to the sun. It's glare did not hurt him.

And thank you for making me a little less lonely.

The End
