"Hey, you okay?" I stand next to Loki on the balcony. "Yeah, I'm fine." He sighs.

"Loki...you can't blame him for how he acted. He lost Jane on the same day he almost lost his father. Now he has to be king sooner than he expected." I pat his back. "Thor will come around, eventually."

"Maybe you're right." He gives me a small smile and puts his hand on my shoulder. "Thanks, Y/N."

I smile and give him a small nod. He gives me a weird look. "What?" He touches my hair.

"Did you color your hair again, Y/N?" I look down and back away slowly.

"Maybe."

He sighs. "You're gonna end up bald if you keep this up." We both laugh. "Red looks good on you though." I blush as he walks away.

I can't be falling for Loki. I shake my head. It's not right. I walk into the throne room and see Thor pacing back and forth.

"Hey, everything alright?" He stops and looks at me. "I'm fine. How's Loki? I was pretty hard on him, I'm sorry." I look down.

"He's fine. He understands." I say softly.

Thor walks up to me slowly. "You remember the agreement our parents made a couple years back?" He looks into my eyes.

"Yeah, how could I forget. The agreement that chose my life for me." I sigh.

"I can't do this without a queen, Y/N. I release you from their agreement, but I'm still going to ask."

You take a step back. "You- you're releasing me from the arrangement?" I ask, surprise evident in my voice.

He sighs. "More like I'm giving you a choice. You can sit on the throne by my side as queen, or you don't." I take a deep breath.

"I know you have feelings for Loki, it's obvious, which is why I gave you this choice. Will you follow your heart or do your duty?" He says.

I place my hand over my chest. "I- I need time to think about this." I run out the room and into the hallway. I bump into something and lose my balance for a second.

"Whoa, you okay?" I look up and see Loki. Tears begin to fall from my eyes.

Why am I crying?

It's my duty to Asgard.

To my king.

"Y/N...I heard everything. Is it true? About yo-you're feelings?" I sigh.

"Loki, don't make this any harder than it has to be." He puts his hand on my shoulder. "Don't let me stop you from your duties."

I sink to the floor. "This isn't how things were supposed to happen. I shouldn't have fallen for you. My duty is to Asgard, but I love you." My words stun him. His cheeks begin to turn red at my words.

He kisses my cheek.

"Just go sleep on it. You'll know your answer when you wake up." I nod and head to my room.

I open the door slowly.

My duty is to Asgard.

That's my decision.

I lay on my bed and drift to sleep.
