Supper

Loki led you to your suit which just so happened to be down the hall from his. It was just as beautiful as you expected with its elegantly carved furniture, expensive... everything, and the biggest bed you had ever seen. The closet was also ginormous. You didn't think you had ever seen so many dresses in one place. After you were done exploring your suit you went into your sitting room were Loki was waiting for you on one of the couches.
"Your home is beautiful." You told Loki happily as you sat down by him on the couch. "And your mother is really nice."
Loki smiled at you and you could tell he was much more relaxed now after the visit with his mother. There were also no prying eyes for him to worry about in your room. He didn't need to be the stoic cold hearted prince here. At least you hoped not. "Thank you love I'm glad you are enjoying it thus far. But there is much more I wish to show you." Loki told you with his signature Cheshire Cat grin.
"Like the stables?" You asked him with a smirk. Loki laughed at you and your persistence that you will, in fact, go to the royal stables.
"Like the stables."He agreed with a chuckle. "But right now we must get ready for supper."
"But..." you looked down at your outfit thinking that it wasn't too bad. In fact this is what you wore to be fancy. "I'm already ready." You told him you then looked at his outfit. 'Yep' you thought to yourself, 'Loki is still sexy.' "And you also look ready." You told him.
"On Asgard supper is a formal event." Loki explained to you. "Were is as on Midgard you can wear pajamas to dinner here on Asgard, especially in the royal palace, you must be wearing your formal wear."
"I didn't bring any dresses with me." You told Loki a little sheepishly. You brought so much stuff with you just incase you need it but you didn't think about bringing a dress. You should have this is a royal event after all.
"Did you not see your closet?" Loki asked.
"I did." You told him. He stared at you for a moment waiting for you to figure it out. Then it dawned on you, "those dresses are for me to wear?!"
"Very well done darling." Loki teased. "What did you think they were for?"
You shrugged, "someone more important than me?" Loki gave you a disapproving look.
"And who, pray tell, is more important than you who this room was set up for?" Loki asked you dryly.
You shrugged again. That's what you thought they were for. You didn't know why you thought that, you just did. The dresses seamed way to fancy to be for you. Loki rolled his eyes kissing the top of your head. You were sometime an air head, but you were his air head.
*
Loki called some maids over to your room to help you get ready then left for his room to do the same. It felt extremely awkward to have the maids help you put on your dress but you were grateful for it at the same time, Asgardian dresses were complicated. They did your hair in nice elegant loose curls that flowed down your back.
They had just finished your makeup when there was a knock at the door. One of the maids went over and opened it to revile non other then Loki. He was in his royal formal wear looking as good as ever. She let him in and he thanked her then turned his attention to you. His draw dropped as he looked you over. You blushed standing up from the chair the maids had you sit in to do your hair and makeup.
"I know," you told Loki teasingly, "I'm wearing a dress."
"You look lovely darling." Loki told you gently which made you blush even more. Loki thanked the maids and excused them then offered you his arm so he could escort you to dinner.
*
"So is this where we are going to meet the rest of the important people?" You asked Loki as the two of you made it down the halls to the dining room. He was now the cold and distant prince again, but he was still Loki. He looked down at you a little confused by your question.
"Do you mean are the other realms nobility here?" Loki asked dryly, you nodded your head, yeah that's what you were asking. "No, they are not. They will be here in a few days time."
*
You and Loki walked into a massive dinning hall. And I mean massive. The dinning tables looked like you could park four pickup trucks on them from bumper to bumper, the vaulted ceilings went up so high that a redwood tree could grow in here no problem, and the space of the room was big enough that it could be an airplane hanger. The walls had beautiful tapestry's on them all of them and looked hand made. There were even some tapestries that depicted Loki and Thor along with their mother and father. The windows were also beautifully made, some were stained glass others were just regular glass. And Loki wasn't kidding when he said that supper was a formal event, everyone here was wearing the most amazing clothing you had ever seen. All the people you saw looked way important, which they would be if they were eating in the palace.
"Keep your back straight love," Loki told you under his breath as the two of you made it to the biggest table at the front of the dinning hall, no doubt where the royal family and all the most important people ate. "Walk with confidence."
'Easy for him to say,' you thought to yourself feeling out of place, 'he was raised as a prince. I was raised in the barn, and in the woods, and mountains... basically just outdoors.' But you straightened your spine shifted your shoulders back and walked with as much confidence you could fake, it wasn't that hard, you just tapped into your theater geek side. "I'm a equestrian," you told Loki like it was the most well known fact in the universe. Which depending on who you were talking to it was. "We pay for people to judge us. If that's not confidence then I don't know what is."
Loki smiled and kissed the top of your head, obviously amused by your response. The two of you stopped at the front of the table where the only person you recognized there was Frigga, Loki's mother. She stood up when the two of you arrived and introduced you to the rest of the people at the table. You waved to them when Frigga said your name.
"Another mortal?" A man from the table asked with disapproval. He was obviously an important man with his fancy clothes and well groomed beard, plus he was sitting at this table. His ramrod straight spine, shoulders back, chin up, and unamused expression plastered on his face all conveyed that he thought he was the most important.
"Is that a problem?" Loki asked calmly, some might even say pleasantly. But the gleam in his eyes told the man that if he said the wrong thing, if he belittled you, he would be sorry. The man may have been important but he wasn't more as important as Loki, he wasn't more important than a prince. Loki couldn't do or say anything to his father, but he could to the court people. He couldn't protect you from his fathers hurtful words but he can from these people. And no one, even the important court people, wanted to be on Loki's bad side, he could make all your worst fears a reality.
The man gulped, losing his confidence for a brief second before talking, "no your majesty," he said with slight panic in his voice, "it's just... I had knowledge that your brother was into mortals, I didn't think they were your type."
"Not my type?" Loki asked the man, his words dripping off his tongue pleasantly as he toyed with his prey. "And prey tell Albert, what kind of lady do you think I would bring with me?"
The man, Albert, looked you over then Loki as to see if the two of you made sense together, you already knew you didn't. Loki was almost a whole foot taller than you, he looked elegant, cleaver and cunning. You looked like a cute little equestrian, who was to naïve for her own good. Albert answered Loki's question but in a language you had only heard when Thor and Loki were actively yelling at each other, Asgardian. He didn't want you to hear his answer and be offended, because if that happened Loki would surly retaliate.
"I see..." Loki nodded after Albert finished his answer, his eyes glazing over. Albert looked even more concerned about Loki's eyes glazing over. Like it was the scariest thing in the world. You didn't know what was going on anymore and just wanted to sit down and enjoy some food with Loki and his mother. You were getting tired of this whole "pulling the higher rank on each other" thing, and the tension was getting uncomfortable to just annoying.
"Let's sit down." You suggested cheerfully lightly tugging on Loki's sleeve. "I'm sure your mother would love to hear about the time I made you go clothes shopping with me and it turned into you giving fashion advice to everyone in the store. We stayed there until the mall closed and I fell asleep."
Loki smiled down at you and kissed your hair remembering the memory. "Yes," he agreed with you pleasantly and formally not letting his guard down around these people, "I'm sure mother would love to hear that tail." So you got Loki to sit down by his mother while you sat on his other side next to one of the court people. You told Frigga story after story of what you and Loki had been up to, though you told her about you the most. You didn't know what stories Loki didn't want the court to hear so you only told the super safe ones. Thankfully Thor and Jane showed up soon after that so you and Loki didn't need to be the center of attention for long. Thor was the first born, the golden child, and the next in line for the throne, at least that's what everyone thought. So whenever he and Jane were around they took the attention off of you and Loki, well at least they had so far, and you hoped that would keep up as long as you stayed here.
Thor sat across from his mother on the other side of the table Jane sitting right bedside him across from Loki. You figured the head seat between Thor and Frigga was for Odin himself. Thor and Jane talked for a while before the big doors opened and everything  got quiet. You turned your attention to the doors just in time to see Odin briskly walk into the dinning room. Everyone stood up out of respect for their king, you and Loki's family included. Odin got to his spot at the head of the table and signaled everyone to take a seat before he spoke a few words. He welcomed his sons home and announced they had brought their ladies with them. He also reminded everyone that the Harvest Ball was in a few days. He then sat down and the servants came out with the supper.
*
The food was delicious and the tension at the table immediately evaporated when everyone was finally eating. Thor told his father of all the adventures that he had attended to during his time in Midgard, including the glorious battles. He made sure to mention that Loki was indeed keeping to his agreement of helping the people of Midgard and rebuilding the trust he had broken. He also mentioned you and your ability to ride horses like it was no one business. Odin listened happily to his favorite son with Jane even adding in a few parts Thor left out.
The supper that night was a lot shorter than it usually was, according to Loki as he walked you back to your suit. He had told you that after dinner there was usually dancing and drinking involved, but because of the Harvest Ball being so close the palace was busy getting ready for their guests. You didn't mind dinner getting cut short. Sure you loved to dance, by yourself, in the safety of the tower or the barn, with no strangers watching you. You loved to dance, it was fun, you just looked like and idiot when you did. So you weren't too sad to not dance in front of strange important people. You were also tiered and just wanted to go to bed. The day had been a whirlwind of activity and you were dead on your feet. Plus you also couldn't drink, you weren't old enough yet and you knew there was no way in Valhalla that Loki would let you have Asgardian drinks designed for Asgardians while you were very much human.
"You must get some rest little one." Loki told you kindly with his signature grin when you reached your bedroom door, "we have things to do tomorrow."
"What kind of things," you asked him warily not sure if you should be exited or worried, it could really go either way with Loki.
"You will just have to find out tomorrow." Loki told you patently.
"Fine," you sighed rolling your eyes at him, "but can I at least have my bag?" You hadn't gotten it back yet since he placed it into his magical dimensional pocket. He bowed over dramatically and with a warm glow of green light your duffel bag was at your feet. "Thank you," you told Loki when he stood back up again kissing his cheek.
"Of corse," he replied, "anything for my lady." He then proceeded to kiss you good night which you thoroughly enjoyed. He kissed you long and he kissed you well. You absolutely loved that his lips tasted like mint. When he pulled away your head was spinning and your heart beating fast as he left you breathless. "Good night love." Loki bid you before leaving for his own room.
"Yep," you thought yourself when you got into bed, "tomorrow will definitely be an adventure."
