Moving to the Tower

The weekend finally rolled around, Sierra went to the city with some of your other friends. She asked if you wanted to go but you declined, saying you had work to do. It wasn't a lie, you did have work to do, the most important of which was finally coming up with your answer to give to the Avengers. You decided that you wanted to help them, but just to make sure you were making the right choice you wanted to call the smartest people you knew, your parents.

"(Y/n) how are you doing? Are you having a good time?" Your mother asked you when she picked up the phone. You smiled at your mothers concern for you.

"Yes mom I'm doing great, so is Blaze. How is everyone back home?"

"Everyone's doing good, but we all miss you. So go on, tell me everything! I want to know what you've been up to." You told her about all the things you were learning and the shows you've entered with Blaze. You told her about how your friend were doing and anything else you thought was important for her to know. That's when you got to the real reason you were calling.

"Mom I have a question for you and I want you to be completely honest with me."

"What's wrong?" Your mom asked concerned, noting the seriousness in your voice.

"Nothings wrong," you tried to reassure her but failed miserably. "It's just," you paused not sure how to word this. Your parents had always supported 100% but they also worried about you a ton. You weren't exactly the most carful person when it came to your well-being. Having fun and doing what you loved always came first to you, horses weren't exactly safe. You've been hurt many of times, so there was reason for your parents to worry over you. "I helped out the Avengers."

"What?!" Your mom asked, not in a mean way but more in an amazed way.

"I help out the Avengers one day, and I thought that was just going to be the end of that. You know? Like a cool story to tell and nothing more. But then they came back and asked me to... not exactly join them but... help them out? They want me to become an agent for them mom." You blurted everything out getting it off your chest. It felt good to tell someone, you didn't want to tell your friends because you weren't sure what you were going do with it. As much as you trusted your friends you trusted your parents way more. Your mom let what you just said sink in.

"Well," your mother started trying to sound neutral and not worried. "What do you want to do?"

"I think it's a good opportunity. Helping people out. I get to do what I love while also making a difference in the world." You said carefully trying not to sound too excited. You knew what your mom was thinking even before she said it.

"It is a great opportunity (y/n), but it's also really dangerous. The Avengers deal with some crazy dangerous stuff. You remember the battle in New York. With all the aliens. Do you really think you can keep up with all that?" Your mom asked with care and love in her voice, also scared for your safety. You knew where your mother was coming from, she wanted you safe and happy, but it still hurt. Her thinking you weren't cut out for this job.

"I know it's dangerous. So is working with horses. Steve told me I could do grate things. I would like to at least try." Your voice was carful but your message came across. You were going to try but you wanted your parents approval first. Your mom sighed.

"You could do grate things... and you will." Your mom sounded worried but she wasn't going to stand in your way of you being someone that you wanted to be. She knew you respected her and your fathers opinion more then anyone else's, if she told you, 'no don't do it,' you would walk away. "Just promise me you'll be carful?"

"I will mom." You said happy your mother was on your side. You talked a little bit more then said your goodbyes. After you were done talking to your mother you called the Avengers and told them that you were in. Steve sounded very pleased with your decision and told you he would see you soon.

*

The next morning you woke to a knocking on your door. You got up still half asleep with your bed head, still in your pajamas to go answer the door. You were not expecting Steve and some SHEILD agents to be on the other side. You stood there and starred at them, it took a minute for your half asleep mind to proses what you were seeing.

"Morning." Steve greeted you cheerfully smiling at your early morning confusion.

"Morning." You said tiredly then looked around at everyone. "What are you all doing here?"

"We've all come to help you pack so you can move into the tower." Steve answered like it was obvious.

"Move into the tower?! I can't move into the tower." You exclaimed waking up a little more. "I said I wanted to help but I still have school!"

"We know, but we wanted you in the tower so you can train and become comfortable with all of us." Steve tried to explain. "It will be easier for you to live at the tower and travel here than the other way around. You will still go to school."

"Are sure it's no trouble?" You asked still a little unsure about all this.

"I wouldn't be offering this to you if it was any trouble." Steve assured you giving you  a warm smile. You nodded your head and smiled back at him stepping aside to let everyone in. Steve insisted that him and the other agents could pack your stuff for you while you went to take a shower and get ready for the day. He felt a little bad at not telling you how soon they would come get you. You reluctantly agreed with him and after showing everyone what was your stuff and what was Sierra's stuff you went to take a shower and get ready.

You came out of the bathroom clean, in blue jeans and a button up red plaid shirt that was unbutton showing off your white tank top. You where surprised at how fast everything could get packed. You looked around the room to see all of your stuff was no longer in it. Steve was the only one still there. He was sitting on one of the chairs waiting for you.

"Ready?" He asked standing up to go.

"Almost." You replied. You went over and grabbed a pen and paper to wright a note telling Sierra that, no, we have not been robbed and where you were going. You said that you would explain more when you saw her. "Now I'm ready." Steve nodded and led you out to the parking lot where a stupidly fast car was parked.

"We barrow Tony's cars when we want to go somewhere." Steve explained upon seeing your confused face. You smiled and nodded to him. After the two of you got into the car Steve drove you to the tower. On the way there Steve was telling you how proud and excited he was for you that you excepted their offer.

Steve finally got to the tower and pulled into its garage. Once you where in the tower you couldn't help but feel exited. Your smile was so contagious that Steve couldn't help but smile too. "Before I show you to your room." Steve said smiling down at you, "you should meet the team first." You full heartily agreed with him and followed him to the elevator.

The two of you got out in the Avengers main living room. Everyone was there and turned their attention to the two of you when you got there. "Everyone." Steve said. "I trust you all remember (y/n)." Everyone came over to great you and welcome you to the team. You blushed and tried to act confident, you were nervous to get started, but also extremely excited. You then noticed someone in the back, he had long raven black hair and emerald green eyes. It took you a moment but realized it was Loki. He was looking you over with an ice cold expression that made you a little uncomfortable. You gave him a warm smile and nodded not wanting him to think you weak.

"Here," Natasha said taking your hand. "Let me show you to your room. I'm exited to have another girl around the tower." You smiled at her and nodded not sure what to say, letting her drag you off to go find your room.

Loki watched you go wondering why you, a little mortal girl, were not scared of him. A little uncomfortable? Yes. But not scared. He also wondered why he could not read your mind like he could everyone else.
