Lyra was a Valkyrie of Asgard who had just passed her test and now she was worrying because the mark of the prince had appeared on her wrist, she was currently walking into the throne room, with her large black wings trailing behind her, so she could stand before the king and queen.

"Lyra, what do you have to report?" asked Odin

"This Allfather" she said as Lyra held out her wrist so Odin and Frigga could see.

"Impossible" said Odin who got up and walked down to Lyra "When did it appear?"

"When I passed the initiation test"

"Then It is fixed" said Frigga 

"No"

"You cannot deny it Husband"

"Summon Loki and Thor"

After a few minutes of awkward silence Loki and Thor walked in. They stood before their father and were confused by the presence of the Valkyrie.

"It seems destiny has bestowed a Valkyrie upon you Loki" said Odin

"What?"

"Show him"

Lyra held out her wrist for Loki to see his sigil on her skin. He looked at her like he was apologising for something.

"Do you swear to protect my son with your life?" said Frigga

"I swear" said Lyra

Frigga walked up to Lyra and took her hand, she guided her over to Loki and she took his. Lyra took Loki's hand and Frigga used her magic to initiate the eternal bond. Some magical golden ropes wrapped around Loki and Lyra's connected hands, they were now bonded, forever.

"It is done" said Frigga as the golden ropes disappeared as if they were never there. 

Lyra's armour changed the second the bond was completed, now it was green and black.

Later that night Lyra was currently on horseback heading to the woods with Loki, Thor and Lady Sif and the warriors three. They made camp as the sun was too low for them to ride any longer. They were sitting down around a campfire whilst Lyra was scouting the perimeter, when she returned the laughter stopped.

"So Loki here gets a Valkyrie, why?" asked Volstagg

Lyra ignored him, she wasn't in the mood to talk.

"Shy huh?"

"I'm not in the mood Volstagg, just drop it"

"Well she is a beauty" said Fandral

 "She is sitting right here and she has a name" snapped Lyra

"A name I do not know"

"Lyra...Are you always this rude?"

Sif and the others started laughing, including Loki. Fandral had never looked so mortified. The others went to sleep for the night leaving Loki and Lyra alone.

"So Why me?"

"I didn't choose this, I would much rather be a regular Valkyrie not some personal bodyguard"

Loki went silent.

"If we're going to do this there are some ground rules..1 I am not a servant, you treat me like one and I will quit, 2 I will protect you with my life, but that is the extent of it, we are not friends"

"Understood"

"Good, now go to sleep, we have a long ride tomorrow" said Lyra getting up and checking on the horses.

Loki looked at her, at how gentle she was with the horses, he wondered if she would ever be nice to him like that, so far she had seemed rude and kind of mean but destiny had a reason for giving her his mark, He guessed it would take time to figure out the reason.

The next morning The six rode to one of the outlying villages, they had reports of Stone giants roaming their woods. They arrived and immediately got to work, they all split into groups of two and of course lyra was paired with Loki, they walked through the woods before Lyra stopped and pushed Loki against a tree and put her hand over his mouth. There was a Stone Giant right in front of them, but due to the fact they were taller than regular people it hadn't seen them.

For a Valkyrie Stone Giants were relatively easy to take down, but now Lyra had Loki to worry about.

"Stay here...I mean it"

Lyra took out her black wings and flew up through the trees, heading straight for the Giants eyes, she plunged her sword into one before the giant hit her and she lost her balance and she plummeted to the ground. The giant tripped over a fallen tree and was about to land on Lyra, but she rolled out of the way before he dropped. The giant fell and a tree went straight through his skull, he was dead.

The others ran over to them and saw Lyra's sword in the giants eye, she pulled it out and walked up to the group, they all looked stunned. 

"What?"

"How...did...you?" stammered Fandral

"Go for the eyes, its not hard to figure out" she replied
