Second POV

Nathan: MOVE!.

In the next second the beam expanded rapidly and pierced through your spirit form's top half, you managed to push Korra out of the way. Good, you thought as the beam collided with you and kept on pushing you until you crashed into the wall of a building and landed with a thud on the ground.

You tried to get up or move, but the pain was too much to bear as it spread all over your body, losing your consciousness began to fade to the point you only saw three things.

Vaatu's body disintegrating in the distance in a brilliant light.

Korra running towards you with everyone behind.

And nothing darkness an empty void

And now

In the North Pole hospital. It's been 2 weeks after the defeat of Vaatu and You were laying deathly silent in a hospital bed with bandages wrapped around your head and chest. Outside the room was Korra and Nana, her eyes were red from crying and Korra's were filled with regret and remorse.

Korra: I- I am so sorry if I-

She stopped not knowing what to say every time she tried she's always choked on her words.

Nana: I-I don't want to hear it.

Korra: I know.

They both stayed silent, Nana refusing to acknowledge another word from Korra. Inside the room, Eva was kneeling by your side healing your head with spirit water, she looked extremely weak and had bags under her eyes from all the continuous attempts to wake you.

A hand came on her shoulder, stopping her, she shook slightly and turned over her shoulder to see a pleading Katara lightly shaking her head.

The door to your room closed and outside came Katara. Seeing them exit, Korra and Nana stood up with a little hope, waiting to hear the final deduction.

Korra: Katara how is he?.

Nana: Will my brother be alright?. 'Please say yes I don't. I don't want to lose him. Please Moon spirit.'

Katara: I'm s-

Before she started the sound of  Eva's crying reached the trio outside it was a soft cry but still loud enough to be heard. Hearing the cries of her mother made her weak in her knees and fall to the ground.

Eva: No no no no no no, please...

Korra: It can't be.

Katara: I'm afraid the collision has put him in a coma, there's nothing we can do but wait.

Korra: How, how long will it take for him to wake up?

Katara: Korra it doesn't work like that.

Korra: Please! I'm begging you something anything

Katara: We don't know Korra it could one day one month or a year before he wakes up, or he might... might...

Korra: M-might what?...

Katara: Sigh... I have served and healed many people in my life Korra you need to understand that Nathan isn't the first like this in the eyes of death everyone is the same Korra... It is a very large chance he might never wake up.

Korra: No, no this can't be happening, please...

Korra slowly fell to the ground as the world around her seemed darker than before.

Nana: it's your fault.

She whispered under her breath, but it was still heard by Korra and Katara causing them to look her way.

Nana: I-I-I *Hick* leave! IT'S NOT FAIR WHEN WE LOST!- I -I...

 She stammered and looked at the door behind it was her brother the very one who raised her and played with her, she couldn't bear it any more as tears rolled down her eyes.

Korra: I- I am so sorry all of this is my fault, I-... I'm sorry.

She spoke hoarsely with her eyes threatening to flood as Eva got up and pulled her daughter in an attempt to calm her down.

Nana: if you want to apologize, do it to my brother. Go to him and tell him you're sorry for putting him in a coma!.

Katara: Nana!.

Nana: No leave I never wanna see you here again!.

She ran Into your ward crying Korra wanted to follow after but was frozen in place catching a glimpse of Eva holding you in her arms while crying leaving Korra alone outside.

Korra:...

Once again she couldn't find the words and stood still for a moment.

Katara: I'm sorry there isn't anything I can do.

Korra: He'll be fine I'm sure of it what you said before there's a small chance he'll wake though right.

Katara: Yes.

Korra: Then it's a hundred per cent chance! 'It has to be. It will be.'

Korra's POV

I bow to Katara and walk out of the hospital I need to return to Republic City Today was the only chance I could get to see him and I think it might be for a while.

Korra: 'He'll recover.

Korra: I'm sure of it.

Time skip 

I finally get arrived at the harbour and made my way off the ship.

Korra: 'Right, this is where I first ran into him...'

I smiled remembering Naga almost trampling him over. Did I apologize for that?. I nodded promising to myself to do so again, maybe I did and forgot. Anyway, the City looks somewhat better than before even though the vines are still there.

Citizen1: Hey! Look it's the Avatar!

Citzen2: Look what happened to our city! What are you going to do about this!?

Korra: Me!?.

Citizen1: Yeah you! You're the reason for this in the first place, my home is infested by Vines!.

Citizen3: My house is underneath filled with spirits and I can't do anything thing about it. This is your fault, you should solve this!.

And people keep on asking me to fix this or blame me for everything. It didn't stop as soon they became a small mob constantly yelling at me to fix this and do that.

Korra: 'I can't take this anymore' SHUT UP! OKAY! I don't know how to fix this I don't even, even know what to do anymore...

I hand my head down solemnly there isn't anything I can do at the moment I'm useless.

Mob: What kind of lousy excuse is that you don't know what to do, you're the avatar! What kind of avatar are you!? If we still had Aang none of this would've happened! You're the worst avatar in all history!.

Your POV

Nathan: 'W-where am I? Why is it so dark? I can't open my eyes!? W-wait my arms I can't feel it what's going on!?.'

Nathan:' What happened to me... wait, I remember now...'

Korra was almost done exercising Vaatu and I spotted the beam as it was moving towards Korra if I spotted it sooner, but it was already moving and I.

Nathan:'I saved Korra... that's all that mattered... but where am I'

I tried to move or open my eyes again, but I'm stuck in the darkness.

Nana: Hey big bro...

Nathan: 'Nana? Why can I hear her? Nana, can you hear me! What's happening!'

I couldn't even open my mouth.

Nana: Katara said that some people in commas and hear things around and respond in some ways I don't know if you can hear me but please if you can show any kind sign anything, please. We really miss you.

Nathan:'Nana I'm here!'

I tried to move or do something, but I can't, it's like I'm paralysed by something.

Nana: Anything... please mom can't stop crying, and I don't know what to do *hick* please... don't go... Not like dad...

I didn't want to hear her like this it hurt me more when she cried, and I couldn't feel, but I heard everything. I can't do anything but keep on trying and trying, but nothing worked.

Nathan: 'I can't even cry. I can't...'

I tried to keep my consciousness but felt like I was drowning and my consciousness fading away...

Nathan: 'Korra'

Air temple Island

Korra's POV

I finally made it to the temple.

Korra: Nones here huh. that's a blessing. 'I don't want to talk about my trip.'

I walked to the temple on the way stopping by the training grounds I didn't want it to happen but the memories of me and Nathan training and flirting forced themselves to the surface.

Korra: Don't think about it he'll be fine.

I picked up the pace and ran into the door and shut it behind me. I just have to make it to my room, I just want to sleep this off.

I quickly rushed to my rooms slammed the door. The moment I closed the door my knees gave in and I fell with my back against the door.

Korra: why!? *hick* why did it have to be you... of all the people to love and to leave why!... N-Nathan please come back to me.

I couldn't hold myself back anymore and let my tears flood as more memories came flooding in. 

Flashback

It was a sunny day and I was hanging lazing around with Nathan under a tree side by side.

Korra: hey Nathan I've got a question for you.

Nathan: Shoot.

Korra: Alright do you believe in love at first sight?.

Nathan: that's a very deep question where did this come from.

He asked sitting up straight with his back against the tree and I the same.

Korra: I was with Asami at one time and we reached the topic and it stuck with me. I thought about us it wasn't love at first sight

Nathan: I think Love, at first sight, doesn't exist. Love takes time, and love takes work. It needs to feed of the relationship between us, Aang and Katara didn't fall in love in their first moments of meeting each other, did they.

Korra: You're right.

Nathan: And with you, I'm willing to put in all the work.

He smiled and leaned in for a kiss which I wholly returned we break away for air and I stare into his eyes.

Korra: I really love you.

Nathan: And I love you more. My love will never run short for you hehe.

I rolled my eyes and playfully shove him.

And now he's could die all because of me. It's all my fault.

Second Pov 

Back in the north pole, your ward was naturally silent your body unmoving. You were still surrounded by darkness but still unable to do anything when suddenly you jolted awake!

Nathan: gAH! hah hah, what happened! huff

You wake up early in the morning as well as the sleeping avatar beside you.

Korra: Mn~ Nathan go back to sleep it's too early...

Nathan: K-Korra? What's going on?

You exclaimed breathing heavily as Korra rises slightly and smiles at you half at sleep.

Korra: Maybe you had a nightmare come on~ snuggle with me.

She wrapped her arms around you and pulled you in with her.

Nathan: Nightmare? right it was a bad dream what was it again?... It's not that important

Korra: Yawn exactly close your eyes.

Nathan: Yeah love u Korra.

Korra: Me too.

You drifted off into sleep further in your mind meanwhile somewhere in the farthest depth of your mind a dangerous redlight pulsed with light.

????: I will not be a memory... hehehehe.

The course chuckled as it dimmed and faded into darkness.
