A/n also I changed a few things to get the story right I removed the WAN part from the lemon cause I just realised I made him watch that also it was to make this story work better god It's harder than I thought it would be.

Previously on avatar

Before heading to the North pole Korra and the others head to the south pole as the spirit festival takes place.

While there's some tension between Unalaq and Tonraq much like how brothers biker.

Korra and the others found out she's not Nathans first girlfriend apparently it was Desna who dodged a bullet there.

Tenzin and his family left arr preparing to leave for a vacation in the Southern Air Temple After they help Korra and Nathan regain her water bending in the Northern water tribe.

Will she be able to reopen the spirit portal and her bending?. find out by reading.

And now

Unalaq: You're early.

Korra: What can I say? I'm pumped up after this and getting my water bending I'll get to learn that Unalaq spirit fighting.

You: yeah o kidding you, she kept me up all night asking all sorts of questions.

Unalaq: giggles "Amusing as that is I'm not here to teach you to fight spirits. I'm here to help you begin your spiritual training. We're going to one of the most remote places in the world, the long-neglected spiritual centre of your tribe: The South Pole."

Korra: I know I've been there before actually

Unalaq: You have?.

You: yeah you have?

Korra: "Avatar stuff," she said stopping him from asking more. "Anyway let's do this quickly and head to the North Pole the quicker the better I can get my bending back."

You, Korra, Unalaq, Desna, and Eska on the outskirts of town preparing Naga and their arctic camels for travel. while they were doing that Mako and Asami came to wish them a safe journey as they were going to take this chance like a vacation.

Korra: I thought you guys were coming.

Mako: Don't worry about it, you'll be fine.

Asami: besides we haven't spent so much time together.

she said as they both turned and touched noses making googly sounds at each other.

Korra/you: gross get a room.

Mako: light blush "he alright we'll be leaving now." he said walking back with Asami "see ya later."

Korra: you too.

You: Glad were not like that.

Korra: I know right we make it cool.

Hearing the sound of an engine both turn to see Tonraq ride up on a snowmobile. Unalaq turns and approaches Tonraq.

Unalaq: Tonraq, what do you want?

Tonraq: I heard you're taking Korra to the South Pole. I'm coming.

Unalaq: Not. You're a distraction to Korra and a hindrance to what needs to be done.

Tonraq: My daughter is not going without me. She needs someone to watch after her.

You: why do I feel that I'm not enough? I can keep her safe...right? you pondered your reliability ever since the spirit attack you realised that keeping Korra safe would be a challenge. you pushed those thoughts for later.

Korra: riding on Naga with you behind "Dad, why do you always think you know what's best for me?"

Unalaq: Because he's misguided. The sad truth is it's men like your father who have put the Spirit World out of balance. He's ignored my warnings in the past and hasn't learned since.

Korra: What happened in the past?

Tonraq: It doesn't matter. What matters is The Everstorm that's battered the South Pole for decades. I'm coming unless you think you can stop me.

Unalaq, then Tonraq as they glare at each other.

You: Uh oh

The moment is interrupted by Bolin riding up to the group on a snowmobile with a sidecar.

You: oh thank god calvaries here.

Bolin: "Guys! Hey, wait for meee! Check it out, I'm travelling in style." rests his elbow on the throttle and accidentally makes it lurch forward "Whoa! Okay, I'm sorry... Still getting used to that throttle."

You: hang on Uh, where'd you get the ride?

Bolin: Varrick. He's awesome. He also gave me this fancy snowsuit. It's inflatable with an internal heater, emergency beacon, and food ration pouch. I mean, if I get lost, I can survive in this thing for like... like a month.

reaches into his snowsuit and pulls out some cucumber-quat slices

Bolin: "Who wants some freeze-dried cucumber-quats? Nobody? Did I interrupt a conversation? "Pabu emerges from the snowsuit and snatches the cucumber-quats

Korra: No, the conversation is over. Dad, come if you want.

You and Korra ride away. Eska approaches Bolin.

Eska: Does this sidecar have the capacity for two passengers?

Bolin: Sure does. But uh, who's gonna drive?

Fast forward to Bolin driving the snowmobile, looking disgruntled with dark eyes. We zoom out to show Desna and Eska riding together in the sidecar.

You, Korra and Unalaq reach the top of a small hill.

Korra: So once we get to the South Pole, then what happens?

Unalaq: You will open an ancient spirit portal.

Korra: I'm sorry, what now?

Unalaq: At the South Pole, there is a portal that connects our world to the Spirit World but it has long been closed.

Korra: Then who closed it?

Unalaq: "my guess would be a previous avatar, what I do know is. There are no "evil spirits". There is light and dark in them all." cut to a shot behind them as we see the Everstorm ahead "But when they're unbalanced, the darkness takes over. If you can open the portal in time, balance will be restored."

Korra: What do you mean "in time"?

Unalaq: There's a reason the Glacier Spirits Festival ends on the Winter Solstice. That's when the Spirit World and the physical world are close together. Only then can Avatar open the portal.

You: The Winter Solstice is tomorrow.

Unalaq: Exactly. And we can't afford to wait another year.

Hearing that Naga lets out a low growl.

Korra: Easy, Naga.

Tonraq: Let's keep moving, we have to find a safe place to set up camp.

Tonraq rides head of the group. Cut to a close up of a campfire as two logs are thrown into it and a bear wolf howl is heard. Cut to a wide long shot of the group has set up camp in a cave. Cut to a closer shot of them and pan left across the group as they eat.

Korra: Uncle, why do you think the dark spirits are attacking.?

Bolin: "Can we not talk about dark spirits, please?" scoots closer to Eska and clings to her arm

You: you really don't like ghost stories huh.

Eska: Don't worry. I will protect you, my feeble turtle-duck.

Bolin: Thank you.

Unalaq: Sadly, this isn't a ghost story. This is real.

Cut to a close up of Bolin as he gasps, pulls up his hood and pulls it tight around his face.)

Unalaq: The spirits are angry because he's here. Haven't you ever wondered how your father ended up in the South Pole? Why he's never taken you to visit his homeland in the North?

Tonraq: Unalaq, this is not the time.

You: oh right, How could I forget... why didn't you tell her?.

Unalaq: You're right. You should have told her a long time ago.

Korra: Told me what?

Tonraq: I left the North Pole because... I was banished.

Korra: You were banished from the North? Why?

Tonraq: Because I almost destroyed the entire tribe. 20 years ago, I was a general in the Northern Water Tribe, sworn to protect my people.

Tonraq: Unalaq was able to guide the spirits back to the forest. But by then, the damage had been done. For being the cause of so much devastation, my father banished me from the Northern Water Tribe in shame. That's when I came to the South and started a new life.

You frown hearing his tale but more as the reason he hid it from Korra. Tonraq looks back at the Northern Water Tribe, then looks ahead. Tonraq closes his eyes and tilts his head down. Cut to behind Tonraq and slowly zoom out as he turns to Unalaq and Korra, who are in the foreground.

Bolin: "Whoaaa. So you were supposed to be chief, then he became chief. No wonder you guys don't like each other." You hit Bolin in the side "Ow! What? Isn't that what happened?"

Korra stands up "I can't believe you kept this from me."

Tonraq: I was protecting you from the shame I brought on the family.

Korra: "Why do you keep hiding things from me and then telling me it's for my protection? I'm tired of you protecting me!." shouts and turns around walking away.

Tonraq: Korra.

Korra continues walking away. Tonraq tilts his head down in shame and the rest of the group looks from Korra to him. Knowing this isn't going to sit right you move over to Tonraq patting him on the shoulders and walk after Korra.

You: I know it not in my right to say this but I don't think she wants to see you right now but I'll try to calm her.

you walked away from the campfire, eventually catching up with Korra.

You: Korra wait!

Korra: sighs "I'm not in the mood to talk about this." she said gazing at the ground "You can't be mad at your father over something in the past." she stops ad turns to you "what are trying to do!? did he send you here?" "Woah calm down Korra." she takes a deep breath and does so "sorry it's just why? doesn't he trust me?." "he does it's more like he doesn't want you to see him differently that's all." "well, he failed at that." "So is there anything I can do to change your mind right now."

The scene cuts to a wide, long, high angle shot of Korra's group approaching an enormous rocky archway. Cut to Korra and you behind her as Tonraq rides up.

Tonraq: Korra, you have every right to be mad at me but I don't want you to make the same mistake I made. I should have never gone into that forest. And we shouldn't be going to the South Pole now. Spirits and the physical world should remain separate.

Korra: rides ahead and stops "Dad, it's my job to be the bridge between the spirits and the physical world and I finally have a chance to live up to my potential."

Tonraq: You don't even know if what Unalaq says is true.

Unalaq: You want proof? Look to the sky. Where I'm from, the spirits are at peace and they light up the dark.

Korra: The Northern Lights.

Unalaq: Yes. There used to be lights in the South as well but during the hundred-year war, the South was thrown out of balance and the lights disappeared. When the war ended, the North helped to rebuild you physically as a nation but we have not rebuilt you spiritually. Now the spirits no longer dance in your skies. Instead, they rampage in the Everstorm.

while they talked you hoped of Naga and walked a little further arriving at your destination

You: Guys we're here.

Korra and Unalaq ride to the edge of the cliff. Cut to a close up of Korra looking up as the wind and snow blow past her. Cut to a shot from behind the group. The camera pulls back and we see the Everstorm ahead of them, lightning thundering in the huge storm clouds. Cut to the front of the group as they continue riding onward.

Unalaq: We must keep moving.

A loud, more menacing growl is heard.

Bolin: Oh man. I don't like this.

You: Bolin, just stays calm. There's no reason to Panic!

A small, gremlin-like dark spirit bursts from the snow below you and leaps at you, snatching away some of your supplies. More gremlin spirits leap from the snow at the others. One grabs onto Naga's ears while another steals some of Unalaq's supplies. Another steals supplies from Korra and causes Naga to real back and fall to the ground.

Korra: Aah!

Korra looks up and sees another spirit emerge, creating wings and flying. It is about to come at Korra when Tonraq bends a wall of ice in front of it. The spirit flies around the wall but is hit by a stream of water by Tonraq. Korra looks behind her and sees a short dinosaur-like spirit running at her. Tonraq turns around.

Tonraq: Korra, look out!

Tonraq uses waterbending to creating a pillar of ice to shove Korra out of the way. He throws a downward wave of water at the spirit, but it dodges to the side and knocks Tonraq down towards Bolinís snowmobile with a head butt. A gremlin sized spirit jumps at the snowmobile and phases into the engine.

Bolin: Oh, it's in the engine!

You giving up and letting it have your supplies "oh that can't be good."

The engine bursts into a cloud of smoke and the spirit pops out from the top. With a burst of fire from the exhaust, the snowmobile speeds out of control, with Bolin yelling in panic and Eska and Desna still calmly sitting in the passenger car.

Korra jumps in front of a spirit. She shoots a blast of wind towards the dinosaur spirit while you threw a snowball at the spirit behind her. The winged spirit also swoops in from behind. All three spirits lunge at Korra, who dodges out of the way, causing the spirits to all to collide into each other, forming one large gorilla-like spirit.

You grab her arm and move back as it rushes towards you. It goes to swipe at Korra with one of its large arms but you push her out of the way and knocks you back tumbling. You felt a sharp pain against your shoulder as you came to a stop.

It quickly pins Korra arms down and brings its face close to hers, opening its mouth to screech and revealing several rows of sharp teeth. Korra is frozen for a moment as it gets closer, but then the spirit begins to glow and dissolve. Cut to a shot showing Unalaq performing the calming ritual. The spirit transforms into a bird shape and flies toward the camera. Unalaq finishes and steps forward to offer his hand to Korra. She takes it and he helps her up.

You: "ugh." rotating your shoulder you made sure to silence yourself so no one would notice thinking you were just pushed "Is everyone okay?"

Bolin is heard screaming. You and Korra move out of the way and the camera zooms in on Bolin's snowmobile racing up a slope towards a mountainside. Cut to a closer shot of Bolin, Eska, and Desna.

Bolin: I can't stop it!

Eska and Desna calmly stand up, grab Bolin, and jump backwards with him.

Eska: I'll save you.

Bolin yells as they fly backwards and he sees the snowmobile crash into the mountain. The twins drop Bolin and his suit inflates as it slides down the slope with Pabu riding on top.

Bolin: I'm a raft!

The twins from ice boots around their feet and ski down the slope, coming to a stop in front of the rest of the group, with Bolin following close behind. Mako stops Bolin with his foot.

Bolin: "Uh... can someone please deflate me?" Eska bends ice spikes from the snow and pierces Bolin's suit, deflating it quickly "Thank you."

You: well good news we nones hurt besides me, bad news I don't know what are we supposed to do.

Tonraq: There's only one thing to do. We have to turn back.

Unalaq: No. The solstice is tonight, we're so close.

Tonraq: This mission is too dangerous, we're leaving.

Korra: No Dad, you're leaving.

Fade into a wide shot of rocky, jagged mountains and zoom in on the group below. Cut to a shot of Nathan and Tonraq standing by Tonraq's snowmobile.

You: Don't worry, sir. I'll keep an eye on Korra for you.

Tonraq: Thank you, Nathan.

He prepares to leave revving up the motorcycle, while you turn back to see Korra walking towards you both.

You: I should leave.

Korra: no actually I'm here to tell you something... important.

You: you and Tonraq share a look before facing Korra again "sure thing what wrong?."

Korra: I... think you should head back too.

You:...what?

Korra:...It's nothing against you but you got hurt... If we come across something worse than I.. look just go with my father you'll be safe.

You paused for a moment as her words sunk in. She was right but you didn't want to leave because of the danger ut it wouldn't make a difference if you were the one in danger.

You: sighs "Alright I'll go but please be safe."

Korra: "heh who do you think I am?" she said with a playful smirk. you didn't respond to that keeping the stern look on your face. "I promise." she cups your cheek giving you a determined smile.

Nooding you hop on the snowmobile behind Tonraq and take off

while riding back.

Tonraq: when we get back well get you to lady katara.

You: thank you and don't worry Korra's stronger than you know shell be fine.

Tonraq gives a nod facing the snow.

With the Korra and the others

Unalaq: Let's open this portal and lead your father and the entire Southern Water Tribe in the right direction. We don't have much time.

Korra: Then what are we waiting for?

the group walks onwards to what seems to be a large crater with damaged trees sticking out of the ground walking on ahead further into the centre of the crater. The sky still twisting with rage thunder clapping the group being pushed back by fierce winds as they reach the eye of the ever storm. The centre of the crater was seen a large blue semitransparent dome bustling with unknown energy.

Unalaq: we're here the spirit portal.

Bolin: Woah I thought it would be bigger and portal ish? it looks like a dome more than s door to the spirit world.

Unalaq: "Korra nows the time. Open it and help bring back faith to the spirits." he speaks with a voice of excitement and authority though it looked like he was ordering the truth is he was joyful.

Korra nods and walks to the portal placing both hands trying to do whatever.

Korra: aright portal budge!.

forcing her arms the dome ripples outwards. Just as Unalaq, Bolin and the twin's eyes grow with shock and amazement the ripples come back towards Korra blasting her away from the dome.

Unalaq: looking at the fallen Korra "what happened."

Bolin: Oh no

you walk out of a tent with a bandage wrapped around your left shoulder. You turn back to the tent.

You: thank you, Master Katara.

Katara: smiling "Oh it's alright just take it easy and you'll be better in the morning."

you smile back and walk to Tonraq who waiting where you all left waiting for them to return.

Tonraq: Shes taking too long we have to go now!.

you place your arm on his shoulder "have faith I'm sure she on her way." you said with a comforting smile but deep down you worried just like him why is she taking so long it should light up like a beacon.

after some time you both spot Korra emerging from the snow, slowly walking towards with a look you never wanted to see. Behind her was Bolin, with Eska and Desna behind him. Bolin held an upsetting look on his face making you more worried.

You and Tonraq share a heavy look of worry and turn back to see Unalaq who held a look of pity, sadness and more as if he failed someone dear to him.

You and Tonraq run up to Korra you wrapping her in a hug then Tonraq you both feel her lose her standing as she sniffs clutching you tightly. You weren't going to ask anything as you already had a strong guess of what happened.

Korra: "I-I can't...It wouldn't.. nothing" sniffs "W-why".

You:...

Tonraq: It'll be fine Korra.

hearing that Unalaq shared a look with his brother a look of pity as his eyes landed on Korra.
