Zaheer: my thoughts are exactly unlike our failure with Avatar Aang. We won't fail in killing Korra so long as we have him.

He smirked at Nathan's unconscious body. The entire red lotus has been reformed and now they returned to their sole mission.

And now.

Northern water tribe.

Nana: Mom! Please wake up.

Nana was currently healing her mother, Eva. Her face shifted, grunting in place before she woke up with a gasp.

Eva: Nathan!

She reached out, but it was too late. The fight was over. She looked around, seeing her daughter tearing up as she woke up.

Eva: Oh Nana, I'm so sorry.

Nana: I didn't even get to see him.

The girl hugged her mother, crying on her shoulder. Eva sighed and patted her head to calm her down, but she was also just as mortified about her son's well-being. It wasn't long before others arrived at the scene.

Zuko: I see they came here as well.

Eska:... Where is Nathan?

She asked, only to hear Nana crying. Her eyes widened, coming to realisation. And what followed was fear and a sense of helplessness.

Eska: No, please.

Desna: I cannot understand why they took him captive.

Zuko: It's obvious as day.

Tonraq: They plan to use him to draw Korra in... those bastards will pay. You gather the remaining lotus members and try to get in contact with the avatar!

Tonraq ordered the nearest white lotus member and turned to the others. They conversed and agreed to move toward them as soon as possible. Nana wanted to come along, but her mother forbade her.

Eva: I can't have you put yourself at risk. Please stay here. Please, until we have him back.

Nana: But! I can help!

Eska: If you came, you would only bring more trouble with you.

Eska's tone was flat and harsh, shutting her protest. Nana said nothing but looked down, her fists balled up. It wasn't Eska's wish to bring her further down. She did it because it was the same thing Nathan would've done.

With Mako and Bolin.

The brothers surprised were and glad to find their family in the lower quarters of Ba Sing Sei but they had no time as they discovered the queen had been capturing air benders into her cam and doing many things to turn them into soldiers.

Mako: We have to tell the others immediately.

Bolin: Don't have to tell me twice.

Right now, both were running to the Earth queen's palace. That's where Korra and Asami were, but as they reached it, they were stunned at the sight before them.

Bolin: What the hell!?

He screamed, seeing the beautiful palace torn and shredded apart as if a tornado went through, and the ground was shattered into a crater, the grass was burning and there groaning and hurt bodies of guards everywhere.

Mako: Did... Korra do this?

Shock filled his face as he saw near to him Asami and Korra were making their way to them with Kai and a group of what they both knew where the new air benders.

Bolin: What happened here!? Guys did a thunderstorm hit? I mean, look at this!

He waved his hands, motioning at everything. A guard coughed as the small fires kept on burning.

Korra: Haha yeah... I kinda went overboard there.

Kai: Overboard? You destroyed the earth queen's soldiers, took away their bending, and you set us all free and when the queen made fun of that, you went mad in the avatar state.

He said, pointing to Gun, who was standing behind him with the other air benders.

Gun: Hehe, it's best if you all leave as soon as possible. I highly doubt the earth queen will let this rest.

Mako was slack-jawed and Bolin agape, staring at Korra. She chuckled, looking uncomfortable. It was then Asami coughed they straightened themselves.

Bolin nodded, tossing a thumb up to Korra and Asami.

Mako: I guess our adventure was a little less impactful, huh?

Asami: Don't worry babe, I'm glad you went looking for answers.

Kai: So where's Tenzin?

A loud bison roar echoed from above and Oogi descended with Tenzin and Jinora on its back. The airship wasn't far behind.

Kai: Never mind.

Jinora: Kai!

The girl beamed as she jumped off the bison and tackled Kai down with a jug and a small peck on the cheeks. Kia flushed with a massive grin.

Bolin: Wow. Tenzin's not going to love this.

Tenzin: Thank you for the narration, Jinora. I hope we can talk about... that later; I came as quickly as I saw the commotion. What happened?

Korra sighed and gave a rundown on what happened in the previous chapters, though it felt like an eternity as if there hadn't been an update in years.

Tenzin: I see... your outburst was unexpected, but your heart was in the right place.

Bolin: Yeah, but I mean holy molly, look at the damage here.

Korra: Yeah, I know.

She gave an uneasy smile, making Mako and Asami nudge Bolin.

Bolin: But it's not bad you know, the destruction has an earthy feel to it?

Air benders: Excuse me, what's going to happen to us?

The group looked to Korra before she looked to Tenzin, who cleared his throat and stepped up to them.

Tenzin: I know that none of you chose to become air benders. But now you have a choice. We can move you somewhere safe, or you can come with me to the Northern Air Temple to live in peace and train as Air Nomads. You are no longer anyone's property. Whatever path you decide is up to you.

The air benders looked at each other, their gazes unsure of which path to take before one stepped up.

Yung: I want to go with you.

Other Airbender: Me too. Is it true we can fly?

Other Airbender: Count m don't have anywhere else.

Just like that, more air benders agreed to go with Tenzin he lets out a breath he didn't know he was holding as his eyes watered up. Korra smiled, patting his shoulders.

With Nathan and the Red Lotus.

Nathan: What are you planning on doing with me?

He glared at the Red Lotus. He knew who they were thanks to Yue, she informed him about almost all of them. Right now, he was tied up, and they were moving across the ocean.

None of them responded to him though they just remained silent. Nathan huffed and looked about, not sure what to do until he made eye contact with the water bender.

Ming-Hua: I suggest you stay quiet. We haven't gagged you because we're not animals.

Nathan chuckled, motioning to his tied-up arms.

P'Li: Ming-Hua. Don't talk to him. And you stay quiet.

Zaheer: Theirs no need to be hostile ladies, our guest has every right to know. After all our plan hinders his cooperation.

Confused, Nathan tilted his head and asked what plan but only got a light chuckle from Zaheer.

Korra: Aang would be happy right now. I wish you the best of luck at the Northern Air Temple. I'll send more air benders your way when I find them.

Tenzin wiped a tear and nodded with a smile.

Tenzin: Of course and be careful-

Just as he was going to finish, a white lotus member shouted from the airship drawing everyone's attention.

White lotus: Master Tenzin, we need you! It's an emergency! Please!

Tenzin grew shocked before looking at Korra and the others. Nodding quickly, he made his way up the ramp while they took the others to safe spaces on the ship.

Tenzin entered a communication room and answered the call.

Tenzin: I'm here. What's the situation?

On the other side, Tonraq stood with the others behind.

Tonraq: We have met trouble on our side. Tenzin is Korra in the room with you?

Tenzin: No, she isn't.

Tonraq: Hah good I'm not sure it would be best for her to know but Nathan has woken up out of his coma and at the worst time as the red lotus attacked us and lost him in the struggle.

Tenzin spiralled through various emotions at the same moment his stomach churned as violent and bitter memories resurfaced, but quickly joy for Nathan's recovery, but not so much when he realised he was out of reach.

Tenzin: This is...

Tonraq: I know but we have to plan our countermeasure it's obvious why they've captured him and more we know where they are they marked the location of their base on one of our maps. With a list of demands for Nathans's life.

He said holding a red cloth that Zaheer left behind for them.

Tonraq: it's most definitely a trap, and the location is close to the Northern air temple most likely they want to recreate the exact moment, right now Fire Lord Zuko, my nieces, Eva and I are on our way to the air temple.

Tenzin: So we will most likely arrive at about the same time enough for us to discuss what our next steps should be. I understand. What about Korra?

Tonraq: This message is something that can't be done like this. I'm sorry to ask this as a father-

Tenzin: No I understand very well, I'll inform Korra.

Tenzin exhaled, calming his heart. He thanked them for their work and hung up. The next part would not be easy for him. The airship was moving seamlessly through the sky.

Most of the team avatars were on the deck, sitting and relaxing. The new air benders were below deck resting after being freed. Jinora and Kai are seated across from each other, passing the time. As Tenzin walked out, he took a deep breath.

He approached Korra and the others, Bolin noticing the look on his face, spoke up.

Bolin: What's wrong T? Is a problem with Kai and Jinora?

The others looked up at him, all wondering the same question, or something similar, Kai and Jinora who could hear, turned away from each other expecting a scolding. But Tenzin shook his head no and with a hard breath, spoke.

Tenzin: Hah, no, I'm afraid not. I have some troubling news about Nathan.
