"Hey. What's up? I'm Yoongi. Wait you already know that. Silly me! How are you? Oh! You're doing great ha! Me too! I'm splendid as well. So, have you heard about that Halloween dance? Pshh. Yeah. I mean it sounds cool and all. What's going to be your costume? Wow! That's cool! Me? Oh I actually don't have a costume. How about I go as your date?"
"Oh fuck no." Jungkook said shaking his head.
Yoongi gasped offended at the intensity in his voice. "Really? It was that bad? What about my pick up line at the end?"
"Yeah, that's what made it bad."
"I think it's pretty good! Hoseok will like it."
Jungkook crossed his arms over his chest tapping his foot. Yoongi felt like he had just been scolded. The worst thing was that it was by a younger person.
"I have more than one pick up line. I made a list! Hold on let me see."
"Of course you did."
"How about, 'for Halloween you should go as the love of my life?' Thats pretty good, huh? Oh! This one is good too. 'I'm not a bat but a night with me will turn your world upside down.'"
Jungkook shook his head no once again. "He doesn't seem like the pick up line guy. He seems like the cool laid back dude." He said taking a sip of his apple juice.
"Umm...ahh! How about 'forget your broom, ride me instead?'"
Jungkook spit out the juice earning a groan from Yoongi. He grabbed a napkin from the bag. Luckily, they had stopped for breakfast and got napkins with the order.
"My car! Dammit Jungkook. It's going to be sticky now."
"You can't say shit like that while I'm drinking!"
Yoongi stopped wiping and looked at him with a smirk, "That was the best one, right?"
"Would you honestly say that to him?"
He sighed leaning on the steering wheel. He pressed the car honk startling both. "Shit!" He screamed getting up.
To make things worse, Hoseok happened to be crossing by when this occurred. He laughed approaching his vehicle.
"Oh my fuck. He's coming." Yoongi mumbled horrified.
Jungkook squealed and turned his face the opposite way. Every time Hoseok came around he lost his shit. He wouldn't embarrass himself in front of him. Not again.
He leaned down and knocked on the window. Yoongi shakily pressed the button down, "H-hi. What's up?"
"Nothing much. Where you trying to get my attention by honking your car at me? If you were you definitely succeeded." He chuckled.
Yoongi blushed covering his face. He then realized that he was still holding the wet napkin from wiping Jungkook's apple juice.
"It's okay. Don't be embarrassed. What's that?" He wondered.
Yoongi slowly uncovered his face. "This is...hmm. It's a napkin." Fucking shit. No shit Yoongi! Speak like a normal human!
"It's trash." He added.
"Ahh. Okay."
"Yeah. I don't even need it." He said throwing it out the window. The guilt immediately ate him up inside.
"Actually, no. I can't litter. This is a huge problem in our world. We have to take care of the earth because it's our home. Can't believe I just did that." He scolded himself as he got out the car to pick it up.
Hoseok laughed at his cuteness, "That's right. I'm a recycler. I can see you are too."
"Yes! I recycle! I hate it when people don't!"
"Right? It's so not cool."
"Hoseok? Are you coming?" Jin asked from a distance. Yoongi instantly looked away embarrassed.
He remembered sending that disturbing text to him. The thought of Hoseok knowing about it made his skin crawl.
"Yeah! Give me a second." Hoseok screamed back.
Yoongi wiped his sweaty hands against his pants. Fuck it. If he knew about the text he had sent to Jin a while back it was too late. He couldn't take it back.
However, that didn't matter right now. His problem was showing up to the dance without Hoseok and being humiliated in front of Jimin. This was the time to ask. He wouldn't get another chance to.
"My friend is very impatient. Sorry about that. I'll probably see you later though. Take care."
"Stop!" He screamed.
Hoseok froze and chuckled, "Oh okay. Are we playing Simon says? You didn't say it though! It doesn't count."
"Sorry. I—I didn't mean to scream."
"It's okay. Did you need to tell me something or...?"
Yoongi looked inside the car. Jungkook was biting the shit out of jacket and his eyes were wide open.
He slowly turned his attention back to Hoseok. Why was this so difficult? If only he had self confidence in himself he wouldn't be going through this.
"Are you...are you going to the Halloween dance?"
"Ehh. I don't know. I hate school dances."
Yoongi sighed a bit disappointed. Well, there went his chance—
"But I might go. I don't know. I like to dance. Are you going?"
"Yeah. I am."
"Nice. I might see you there then." He smiled excusing himself.
As soon as he was with Jin he got back in the car. Jungkook was waiting in there with a huge smile.
"Holy shit. I cannot believe that just happened. This was like a scene that only happens in a fan fiction or something."
"That was mortifying." Yoongi corrected pulling his hair. It felt like embarrassing himself in front of Hoseok was a trend.
"It was a cute interaction! He's clearly interested!"
"Or he's just being nice. Hoseok is a social butterfly. Maybe I'm totally overthinking this."
"Well, why do you have to be so negative?"
Yoongi huffed leaning back on his seat. He looked up feeling annoyed with himself. "I don't know."
"Are you sure it's not because of Park Jimin?"
"Maybe."
"Yoongi, he's clearly still in denial. It's like waiting for rain when it's sunny outside."
"I know."
Jungkook pouted reaching over to hold his hand. "It'll be okay. Everything will eventually fall into place."
"Thank you. I hope so." He mumbled giving him a small smile.

"Guess who ran the mile in fourteen minutes and thirty-five seconds?" Yoongi asked with a smile.
When he spotted Jimin by the book shelve he couldn't help but to walk over. No matter how much he was hurt whenever he looked at him all of that vanished.
"Let me guess, is he shorter than me and really pale?"
He rolled his eyes with a laugh, "I'm clearly taller."
"Nope. I am." He said turning to face him. He stood in front of him reaching over to measure with his hand.
"See. Taller." He smirked.
"That's hair length." Yoongi corrected.
"Oh hush. So you ran the mile in that long huh?"
"Shh!" The librarian shushed as she went by.
Both Yoongi and Jimin quickly looked away to stop themselves from laughing. "Yeah. I did. I typically run it in fourteen minutes so this is a huge accomplishment." He quietly said.
"I'm so proud of you. Not to brag but I can run mine in five minutes."
Yoongi rolled his eyes so hard he thought he saw the back of his brain. "Geez. We get it Park Jimin. You're perfect and athletic."
"I know. I love being so perfect." He teased with a smile.
Yoongi's tummy fluttered so he proceeded to talk to hopefully ignore the feeling. "Why're you here?"
"I'm picking out a book to read." He mumbled.
"Shakespeare? He's amazing."
"Yeah. I don't know. I can barely read normal words. Shakespeare is another language itself."
"I can help you." He volunteered.
Jimin kept smiling hoping to not sound so mean. "I'm okay really. Namjoon is going to help me."
"Oh okay. That's fine." He replied a bit hurt.
"Yeah." He whispered unsure of what to say next.
"I just wanted to stop by and brag about my awesome mile time. I'll uhh—get going."
"Okay bye."
Yoongi quickly left the aisle and was out the door. He didn't even grab the book he was looking for.
When he opened up his locker he pulled out the book he needed for the next class. A familiar voice made him look up.
"Yeah. We're going to meet up today after school." Sana gushed to her friend.
Yoongi already knew who she was talking about. He quickly took out his phone and went to Tumblr.
Sana had posted a picture of Romeo and Juliet. Which happened to be the book Jimin had at hand.
Once again his heart sunk to the very bottom of his stomach. Jungkook was right. It was pointless to wait for something that was clearly not going to happen.
