Bargaining.

"You can't be serious..."

"I'm sorry."

"B-but he can survive. Right?" Logan attempted. He knew what he spoke was false but he needed hope, even just a bit. Patton used to be the hope in Logan's life. He still was but the difference here was that Patton could not comfort him in his comatose like state. His doctor could not replace that role and did not even try. "I'm afraid not. The chances are grim." She sighed.

She hated doing this but it was her job. She couldn't simply let a patient live temporarily only to have them to be in complete pain and die. "N-no... there's got to be something you can do." Logan shook his head and took the doctor by the shoulder. She tried to speak but he cut her off. "Just keep him around longer. I'm positive he'll get better." He really wasn't.

He wasn't sure at all to the outcome of this whole mess but he knew he was going to let this happen. Not yet at least. Logan just needed to hear him laugh again. "He won't." The doctor responded. She remained firm, no matter of how much Logan's distress hurt her as well for she had been in the same postion as him before. She shivered at the thought alone, not wanting to dwell on it.

Logan didn't take the hint. "Yes, he will. I'll pay double the expenses please." He didn't have the money to do such a thing, the time Patton was in the hospital already was a teaching Logan thin in the money department.
He honestly couldn't care any less about money, he just wanted his husband to come home. To smile, to crack a bad pun, to be there when Logan had a bad day at work.

He missed his husband, he just wanted him back.

She shook her head once again. That's why she "No. I can't do that."  When what was happening to Logan happened to her, she had the same reaction. However now, after all her years of medical training and experience, she knew she had been naive in that moment.

"Yes, you can! Two more days!" Logan raised two fingers in the air to emphasize his point. He was extremely close, as if he was going to push her. She was slightly fearful but held her own. "I can't. Not only would it be going against my boss but he'd be suffering. He's in so much pain and he'll be in even more so when he wakes."

"But the pain leads to the recovery." The doctor sighed. She fished a remote from her pocket.

She looked at it for a second before looking to Logan. "Or more likely an extraordinarily painful death. I don't want to do this but this is the more merciful thing to do." She pressed her finger down on the button, a buzz echoed though the room. Two guards ran into the room, taking hold of one of Logan's arms each and beginning to pull him out the room.

He fought against their grip. He wasn't about to let this happen at least without a fight. But Logan wasn't the strongest "I'm sorry." She whispered again which is the last thing Logan hears before he is thrown out the room, the doors slamming behind him. Roman and Virgil quickly ran over to Logan. "Logan! Are you ok? What happened?" Virgil fussed.

Roman latched onto Logan's collar, lifting his head from the ground. Logan still remained focused on the ground as his cold voice echoed though the hospital, telling them the news he had witnessed right in front of him. "He's gone." His voice was almost muffled as he stared to the floor. Roman was sure that he hadn't heard Logan correctly. Roman turned him over so they could make eye contact.

Logan lay on his back staring into space as Roman repeated his husband's question. "What happened?" Logan looked back to them with tears in his eyes.

"Patton's... dead."
