Chapter 5 | The Arcade.

Patton threw his head back in rage, hitting his head against the seat. "Ugh! It's not fair!" He pouted like a child and crossed his arms, letting out a huff. Logan smiled at his childishness as he calmly let his hands fall from the pretend steering wheel to his lap. "Hey, don't get upset about it. Third place isn't horrible." The pair, along with the rest of group, had been at the arcade for a hour.

Emile and Elliot had been at the claw machine, trying to get the single plush that the former really wanted. The two grown adults had now spent twenty four dollars between them, yelling at the machine while a kid stood bashfully to the side, patiently waiting his turn awkwardly. Remy and Dee had long since separated and were now on opposite sides of the arcade, doing their own thing without the other.

Virgil and Roman had been playing air hockey, getting along for once but after losing several times, Roman had left to regain some pride and confidence much to Virgil's amusement. Meanwhile Logan and Patton had settled for the racing game in corner. The only problem was that Roman wasn't the only one in the arcade who flustered about losing. "You purposely ran me off the road!"

Patton claimed, throwing his hands in the air in a fit of rage. Despite not looking it, Patton could become very competitive if he wanted. Though never being one himself, he accused them of cheating and demanded a rematch which Logan found humorous since he was quite decent with the game. "What? No I didn't. My hand... slipped?" He smiled, biting back a chuckle.

Patton turned to him, playfully glaring at him. As close as he and Logan had become over the years, they often teased eachother. Though Logan was closed off at first, they developed a lighthearted relationship which why Patton took their competition as lightly as he did. "I see you smiling there. That's it! Let's race again, this time I won't go easy on you."

He punched his fist into his other open palm, attempting to imitating or raise the stakes of their playful game of virtual car racing. Still, just because deep in his mind Patton knew they were just joking around, he still really wanted to win and wipe that smug look off Logan's face. This only made Logan's smirk widen, leaning over the sides of the racing themed chair. "You call that going easy?"

Stuttering over his words, Patton flushed. This time, it wasn't from embarrassment but friendly anger. Finally finding his voice, Patton spoke. "Just shut up and race me!" Patton took a hold of Logan's tie to pull him closer, not realizing how close they were. Logan chuckled as if such a challenge could be easily beaten which was technically true since he was much better at the game than Patton was.

That was simply because it required focus and quick thinking which are both skills Logan possessed and used on a regular basis. Remy, who had been watching them agrue from afar for a while, made his presence known by laughing. "Already fighting?" He pushed his sunglasses to show his raised eyebrow and green eyes as he smirked in amusement at the pair playing the car game.

He figured that they would be the ones spending all their money on the crane machine. But here they were, getting aggressive and competitive with eachother over the small racing game. Well, at least Patton seemed to be, Logan was collected as usual with only a smirk on his face. Logan turned to face Remy, cocky smirk still on his face. "He's getting virtual road rage."

"YOU HAVEN'T SEEN ROAD RAGE YET!" Patton shrieked in rage, shaking Logan by the hold on his tie. Logan leaned his head back once the shaking ceased, chuckling at easily provoked his 'date' was if you knew him well enough. Remy laughed as well, shaking his head. He pushed his sunglasses up his nose again, hiding his eyes once more. "Glad to see you guys getting along."

Patton let his hands loosen on Logan's tie as he grumbled in defeat. His rage was slowly cooling down as he took a deep breath. Patton could go from 0 to 100 in a split second but all the same he could go right back 0 in the blink of an eye. Now calmer, Patton tilted his head to the side in confusion as usual. Logan smiled at his cuteness, again as usual. "Uh Remy? Where's Dee?"

Patton glanced behind him as if he were looking for Remy's pretend date. Remy hummed. In all honesty, he had no idea where he had gone off to when they had separated after a while. In fact now that Remy thought about it, that was half an hour ago and he still hadn't seen him. He shrugged off the thought. "I think he went to get a snack? I'm not a mind reader, bub."

Logan raised an eyebrow in suspicion and Patton still seemed confused as if Remy hadn't spoken at all. They were under the impression that the pairs were supposed to stick together. Of course they would still be hanging out if that wasn't the case. However they didn't speak up about it. Logan turned to Patton and spoke. "Speaking of which, do you want something?" Patton nodded shyly, looking away.

His anger finally resting and calming down also meant that he was back to unbelievably flustered at everything. It was technically his first date in years so he had no idea what he was doing. Not that Logan minded, it was undeniably adorable when Patton got shy and bashful. He stood from his chair and brushed himself off. "Alright, I'll be right back."

Logan began walking off to the food area near the front of the arcade as Patton's gaze lingered and followed him for a second. Once he was out of airshot, Remy leaned over his chair to tease Patton a bit. "So I see things are going well with you two."

"T-things are going great! They'll be even better when I kick his butt at this racing game."

"Competitive."

"Oh you wanna go?"
