Chapter 1 | Roman intervention.
Warning: Nothing much, just Roman being the weird gay disaster he is.

Patton hummed as he skipped down the driveway. He wore a short sleeved blue shirt with a black cardigan over top. He also had gray sweatpants and blue sneakers. His round glasses were wonky on his pale and freckled cheeks and his brown hair was messy and untamed as he hadn't made a effort to look presentable. He walked to his mail box to check his mail for anything important.
Let's see... bills, bills, bills. Ah, free salsa coupon! He'd be keeping that! Patton threw all the bills under his arm. He continued to go through his mail until he came across a weird folded piece of paper. Huh? A letter from Roman?
What the-
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Your butt looks nice from here,
Now look behind you.
Wha?
Patton did as the letter told him, spinning around. What he did not except Roman to be standing right behind him, barely a foot away. He wore a short sleeved white shirt with a red scarf around his shoulders. He had long black jeans with brown leather boots. He had tan skin and red hair. "Hey princess~" As any normal person would, Patton screamed in surprise.
Going with his instincts, he smacked Roman across the face with the papers he held in self defense. Roman winced at force before clicking his tongue and shaking his head. "I really... need to learn to except that." He rubbed the spot on his face Patton had hit. This was a type of thing Roman often did. Something romantic that really wasn't. He was quite the awkward gay disaster.
Honestly no knew that better than Patton who was often roped into his shenanigans. You'd think the romantic guy he presents himself as he'd be the king at this. Nope. He was awful with flirting. However Patton still supported him in all of his romantic endeavors even if Roman went a bit too far. Like this time. And Patton told him so. "Roman. Not only was that super creepy but you scared the fluff outta me!"
Patton crossed his arms, pouting. He didn't like being scared, in fact it was the worst especially he was extremely squeamish. Roman sighed, frustrating raking his hand though his hair, letting it flop back down on his forehead. "I'm just try'na be romantic. It's nearly pride month, you know?" Patton legitimately giggled at the comment. Roman raised a eyebrow questioningly.
He didn't understand what was so hilarious about his statement. Patton stopped laughing, getting slightly serious. What he said next made Roman smirk. "Roman. I know you're excited about releasing the full extent of your gayness but pride month doesn't start for another week. There's plenty of time before that." As stated, Roman smirked widely, even chuckling slightly under his breath.
Now it was Patton's turn to be confused, titling his head to right slightly like a little puppy would. Deciding to clear up his confusion, Roman spoke softly, taking Patton's hands in his. "Oh Pat. Pride month starts tomorrow hon." Patton immediately started freaking out, ripping his hands from Roman's barely there grip and putting on the sides of face, panicked looking. "What? Tomorrow?"
Roman put his hands in the air in surrender postion, turning his head to look at the ground but having his eyes closed. "Woah, don't act so shocked, I haven't asked you out yet! Hey, where ya going?" When Roman opened his eyes he saw Patton had began to sprint to his door at full speed. He only stoped and spun around to respond when Roman had called out to him. "Um. To hide!"
"From what exactly?"
"Every year Remy completely covers the street in gay stuff to try out do his sis. I don't want to be caught in the crossfire of their sibling rivalry!" It was no exaggeration. Last year the whole street that everyone lived on was coverrd in confetti because there was a sexuality confetti canon where you say your sexuality and it would shoot confetti of colours on that sexualities pride flag.
Roman, who had moved in the neighborhood in September last year, did not know of this. He had moved in with Remy so if he knew what was in store, he would move out temporarily to avoid the chaos. However he was still oblivious as can be, simply mumbling to himself about how that explains the 15 crates of rainbow fireworks in the shed which only solidified Patton's fears.
Patton grabbed his shoulders and shook them to emphasize his point. "Roman, he always drags me into help. Just pretend you never saw me. I've already had enough of you after we babysat Virgil's cousin."
Patton let his arms fall with a huff and turned away. Roman waved him off before bringing it back to rest on his chest dramatically. "Pst! No one can get enough of this. Hey, come back here!" Patton continued walking to his front door and was just about to open it. Roman grabbed his wrist before he could go inside, making Patton turn to face him and saw his smirk.
"You and I still need to talk about what in your room the other day. With Logan." Patton froze, eyes going wide. When Roman had tried to get Patton help him babysit Virgil's little cousin, he walked in Logan and Patton talking. The only problem with is that they were about to kiss and Roman told Patton that they were going to talk about it eventually.
Guess that eventually was now.
"You didn't see anything." He tried to brush it off, not wanting to explain what happened. Roman chuckled, pulling Patton closer by his hand. It wasn't really flirty in that moment thought, imtaiding more like. "Oh, I think I did. You see, unlike the others, I am very observant when it comes to romance. It's pretty obvious you have a crush on him or at least like the idea of him. So why hide it? Does Logan know how you feel?"
Patton pulled his hand away from Roman and hugged himself on instinct. He sighed, ready to say a mouthful of speech as he let his arms fall once again. "I'm keeping it to myself because, well... really no one else's business just yet. Logan and I wanna take things slow and are trying to keep this to ourselves. We feel if everyone knew they'd either pressure us to get together or break up."
Patton sighed, looking to his side. "I love hanging out with him and I don't want that to be ruined." Patton closed his eyes sadly. Roman sighed, feeling a bit more sympathetic. However a thought came to the back to his mind that wasn't exactly noble but he would get what he wanted right then and that was his priority. "I get what you're saying but now I know, what are you gonna do to stop me from telling everyone else."
Patton's eyes shot open, looking straight at Roman. He wouldn't. They kept eye contact for few seconds before Patton realized he was being serious and sighed. "What do you want Roman?" Roman chuckled, making eye contact that gave Patton a bad feeling. "I'm so glad you asked." He grabbed both of Patton's hands and pinned them above his head and against the door, leaning in close.
Patton gulped.

Welcome to my new book! It shall be updated on sundays (in my country at least).
The reason I'm starting this so early is because I actually want to get it finished by the end of June so it's not hanging over my head afterwards. I post normally one chapter a week and I have around eight chapters already planned so it makes sense to me.
