(10) Dark
*Ren's PoV*
The mountain was surprisingly steeper than I thought. I made it pretty far, though, and then I heard Dark yelling at me from behind. I ignored him of course until I was tackled down. MY head was defended as I was fallen upon. I blinked in extreme confusion.
"You're such an idiot," Dark grumbled as he looked down at me.
"Get off of me," I growled in response. Instead of doing as I had instructed, he leaned closer to my face. I felt my cheeks warm.
"You shouldn't talk to a man like that." He whispered in a deep voice back.
"I see no man, just an annoyance who doesn't listen," I replied. He smirked.
"Like you?" He teased. I snarled slightly.
"Get off of me."
"Not until you thank me." He replied cockily.
"Why would I do that?"
"I did save you from being crushed by a Goron, you blind fool." He smirked slightly.
"I'm not a fool and I'm not thanking you." I glared away. He stood, freeing me. I was confused.
"You just did." He shrugged. My eyes rolled and I stood. I turned away from him once more and started heading uphill again. "What the hell?!"
"I already told you, I'm not sticking around you." I waved my hand dismissively, but he followed anyway. I glanced over at him, why is he following me? He didn't look at me, just continued staring at the hill as we moved further up. He was wearing a small frown. "Why aren't you leaving me alone?" I huffed as I paused. He turned and faced me with a cocky grin.
"Because, it's dangerous to go alone." He winked. I crossed my arms defensively and glared away. My cheeks had once again tinted with the traitorous color of red. "Is that a blush I see?" Dark teased.
"No!" I yelled back and stomped my foot like a child. Dark smirked slightly.
"I doubt that," he hummed back teasingly as he leaned closer. After I took a step or two back, Dark stood straight. "You want to meet the Gorons, right?" He asked and started walking forward. I looked at him confusedly. He glanced over at me. "Are you coming, or not?" He huffed annoyedly.
"Y-yeah..." I nodded back and walked after him. He followed behind me momentarily then walked beside me. We entered the Gornon's large fortress and were quickly greeted. Well, Dark was at least I was just bombarded with questions. My eyes widened in confusion.
"Where are you from, your clothes are strange?" "Are you from a far away kingdom?" "How old are you?" "What's you name?" Things like that. I didn't really get a chance to answer any of them because they were being asked much too fast.
"You guys can leave her alone, you know?" Dark sighed quietly. "And no, she's not from any kingdom. She's human. Her name's Ren. Leave her alone now." He waved his hand dismissively. They all looked at him curiously, but listened and went to talking to him. I was kind of shoved away and just standing there dumbfoundedly. "Okay, okay guys. I need to get back before Kelly goes insane." Dark insisted and squirmed out of the group. There were a couple of pouting Gorons when he said such. He glanced at me while walking out. "Coming?" He simply said then walked out. I awkwardly and quickly followed. "You're so slow." He complained when looking over at me.
"Am not!" I whined with crossed arms.
"And you whine too much."
"You complain too much!" I replied sassily. He glared over at me.
"Why did I agree to show you around?" Dark grumbled and rested his head on his hand.
"I don't really remember asking." I shrugged back.
"I told Brenda I would. She said something about 'shipping us' or something, I don't really remember." He shrugged and continued to walk ahead of me. I hurried after him. "What are you doing?" Dark hesitated while watching me slip down the side of the path.
"Going the faster way?" I replied with a shrug. He walked over to me from the longer way.
"Barely," he scoffed. My eyes rolled in reply and we- well, I ran down the path. I was used to running down hills. "Ren, you'll-" I face-planted into the grass. "Fall..." He sighed and walked over. I was already on my back and staring at the starred sky. He looked down at me. "Are you quite alright?"
"Yup!" I smiled widely at him. His hand extended to me. I accepted it and was quickly pulled up. His hand quickly went around my back and he smirked down at me as he held me up to him forcefully. I felt my cheeks go red. He slowly leaned forward towards me, he was still grinning. What's he planning? I panicked.
"Mm... Hey, Link." Dark hummed out as he looked passed my head.
"Sup bro?" Link asked with a smirk. Dark quickly released me and walked over to Link. "Anything special happen?" Link winked at Dark. Dark's eyes rolled and he walked passed Link. I slowly and hesitantly followed. Link smiled kindly to me. "Welcome back, Brenda, Steven, and Hero all left when you ran off." He chuckled awkwardly.
"Uh-okay." I smiled shyly at him. I've never acted this way, well, not in a while at least. Why here? Why now?
"Link, are you coming?" Zelda called sweetly. Link looked back quickly, his cheeks reddened.
"Y-yeah!" He agreed and faced me. "I have to get to the castle," he chuckled and rubbed his neck. "I'll see you later, be careful with my brother." He grinned and hurried after Zelda. I blinked and blankly stared at him.
"Okay...?" I mumbled curiously.
"Are you coming?" Dark asked rather harshly. He was leaning from the doorway. Kelly peered out from under him. I glanced over and nodded. "You take too long." He muttered, My eyes rolled as I walked over. I really don't get this dude.
