So this is a modern soulmate au. It basically follows their actual meeting and working together but in a modern setting, idk. Basically, the first time you touch your soulmate like actual skin-to-skin even if it's just a brush of fingers or something, you're fused. Being fused means that the 2 of you physically can't be away from each other. You don't have to be touching, but if you get to far from your soulmate you start to get a piercing pain in your chest and quickly becomes unbearable. It's not scientifically proven but some people believe that the closer you and your soulmate are emotionally, the farther apart you can get physically. Funnily, Alex and Thomas's fusion doesn't exactly go normally. Also, they're a little younger when they meet. Also, if one soulmate dies, the other also dies.
