Four Seasons of Chaos
LET THE FESTIVAL...BEGIN! OUR FIRST FIGHT...TEAM LJNT FROM BEACON ACADEMY VS TEAM GLCR FROM HAVEN ACADEMY! LETS GIVE THEM A HAND!"
"Okay, guys, let's get hyped!" Lyra exclaimed as Team LJNT waited to go on. Janelle was nervously fidgeting with the end of her dress while Nico pulled her hood over her head upon seeing 'No Faunus' signs outside. Of course, she wasn't a Faunus, but being Grimm wasn't any better in the public's eye. Tanya jumped up and down excitedly.
"Yes, yes, yes! So hyped!"
"PLEASE MAKE YOUR WAY TO THE STAGE!" Professor Port announced, and Team LJNT ran toward the stage. The applause erupted louder as Lyra waved energetically, their own fan-made posters of her held, and Nico shifted uncomfortably as she made sure her tail wasn't visible either. She could only imagine the chaos that would ensue once people saw her...
"Lyra Ng-Nikos-! U-Um, sorry," A short girl with bright blue hair tied into a short ponytail on her left spoke, her magenta eyes wide in awe. Black headphones were over her ears while her arms were covered by an ocean blue jacket. A long blue ribbon was tied to her waist, accenting black leggings and boots. "C-Can I e-even call you that-? H-How come they put us a-against you-?"
"Come on, Lana! Don't be so intimidated. We've got this!" A smile was on his face, his lavender eyes crinkled at the corners with excitement. He pulled his long gray hair into a messy ponytail before he pulled out a gray and purple trident that contested his mostly black clothing. "I'm Grayson, and you're going down!"
"You really don't have to introduce yourself every time we fight," Fuchsia eyes stared in amusement at her teammate as she twirled an axe smaller than Lyra's. A mask obscured the lower half of her face while black and white hair tied into low pigtails framed her tan cheeks. She had on a gray crop top with white baggy pants that led to short, black, heeled boots. "Our names will be announced once we win anyway."
"But of course, Raewyn! It is only natural for us to take down our opponents with ease," The last member of Team GLCR, Colden, said with a confident smile on his dark skin. Brown eyes were narrowed in Lyra's direction while he threw his red scarf over his shoulder, hiding his
black shirt and revealing the gauntlets on his hands. "I've heard enough of Lana's constant rambling about you, Lyra. I'm going to prove that I'm better!"
"Oh, bring it on!" Lyra swung her axe downward in a ready position, a cocky grin on her face. "Ready, team?"
"Yeah!" Tanya exclaimed joyfully as she unfolded her bo-staff. "Let's go!"
"THEN LET THE TOURNAMENT..." Professor Port paused for dramatics, "...BEGIN!!"
In four separate corners, the arena suddenly began to change shape. One corner was filled with snow and a frozen over lake, ice scattered all over the place. The next was overflowing with growing flowers as small drops of water occasionally dropped from the invisible barrier surrounding the arena. The third corner was visibly the brightest, and sand was scattered alongside a beach. Finally, the last corner was filled with multicolored trees with leaves along the ground. Everyone was amazed by the arena's shifting, that they almost forgot they were in a fight.
Well, except for Lyra.
Having seen the Vytal Festival before in person, Lyra was barely fazed as she rushed toward Team GLCR, her axe twirling and slicing right at Colden. Raewyn flew to block with her own axe as she managed to hold her own against Lyra's strength. Golden eyes met fuchsia ones as their blades remained locked. Lyra grinned.
This would be fun.
Raewyn kicked her heeled boot outward, and Lyra twirled away before she swung her axe horizontally. Raewyn stepped back before she swung, her blade barely missing Lyra as the ballerina leaned underneath the axe. Lyra swiped her leg out, but Raewyn jumped over and countered with a kick of her own.
An arrow flew between the two of them as Janelle aimed for Colden, who was beyond the two of them in the section of the arena with the sand and water. Tanya's staff met Grayson's large trident in the space with the blooming flowers, while Nico zoomed back and forth to dodge Lana's electric batons.
Lyra dodged Raewyn's next blow before she darted straight to the last corner, the one with the warmly colored trees. Her axe quickly shifted to it's sniper form as she swung into a tree as Raewyn cautiously entered the forest. Lyra aimed her scope carefully; as she did, Raewyn all of a sudden gasped, her eyes white before she leapt out in Lyra's general direction. Lyra's finger slipped on her trigger as the bullet went flying, missing Raewyn as she leapt out of the tree just in time, Raewyn's axe blade cutting the tree to bits.
Lyra blocked the next blow with her sniper before she jammed it outward, shoving Raewyn in the chest before she dug her sniper into the ground as leverage to roundhouse kick Raewyn backwards. Lyra grabbed her gun, flipping backwards as she transformed it back to it's axe form and prepared for her next move. She darted toward Raewyn, ready to grab her arm and flip her to the ground. As she ran up, Raewyn's eyes switched to a brief white before she completely ducked to the ground, throwing off Lyra's balance before she swept her axe upward, sending Lyra into the air before Raewyn slammed her axe horizontally, sending the girl into a tree. Lyra rebounded off of it, her axe slicing ruthlessly at the girl as their fight continued.
Janelle continued to back up as Colden approached her, her arrows drawn as she continuously shot at the boy. His gauntlets raised as he approached her, he smirked before loudly declaring his victory.
Apparently, he hadn't expected Janelle to block his first attempt with her bow.
Janelle swung around, her bow whirling into his chest before she loaded another arrow and shot. He blocked it with the metal on one of his gauntlets, sending the arrow into the ground. Colden darted toward her again, his gauntlets swinging wildly and unpredictably. Janelle struggled to block such a rapid amount with her bow; needing space, Janelle kicked her leg upward, sending sand into Colden's eyes before she sliced the pointy part of her bow downward onto Colden's shoulder.
He staggered away, wiping the sand from his eyes, giving Janelle plenty of time to think as arrows flew in his direction, hitting the ground as setting the sand on fire. Colden grinned before he took a glove off, boosting himself above the explosion with gravity dust before an explosion rose from his bare hand, sending right toward Janelle.
When the fire cleared, Janelle was still standing, her semblance blocking the blow for her. She darted toward the water, and Colden followed her excitedly.
"I-I'm sorry about this!" Lana apologized as she gracefully swung both of her batons at Nico. The Grimm girl dodged before she swung both katanas, and blades flew. No one had managed a blow on anyone yet as snow coated the area around them. Lana swirled her baton against the snow, coating ice over the floor with dust. Nico slid, her hood almost falling, and as she pulled her hood up, one of Lana's electric batons just barely missed her.
Nico slammed her katanas into one sword as she slid toward Lana, her blades flying once more. Lana twirled both batons before she swung both forward, her arms extending to an abnormal extent to reach Nico, who was several feet away. However, Nico dashed forward anyway, her semblance allowing her to phase through the elongated attack and her sword sliced into Lana from behind, sending her across the ice.
Tanya's staff spun rapidly around herself, blocking every blow that Grayson tried to earn. Tanya quickly swung to her right, nearly hitting Grayson in the head, though he managed to dodge at the last moment. Wind dust swirled through his trident as he drew large circles on the ground, creating a tornado that swept Tanya into it. He jumped into the air, his trident pinpointing Tanya to the ground. Tanya swung her staff out at his feet, forcing him to jump as she made her way to her feet.
Grayson held out his hands and in an instant, smoke covered their side of the arena. Tanya coughed, fumbling around to try and figure out just where she was.
The pointy blade of Grayson's trident slammed
into Tanya twice, shoving her to the ground. As Tanya struggled to her feet, she turned her staff into it's rifle form, using gravity dust to boost her high above the smoke.
She just barely managed to spot the smallest glint of Grayson's trident.
She fired a pair of fire rockets right where she spotted them before she landed in the direction, her staff swinging and sending Grayson out of the smoke and into Colden.
"Tanya!" Janelle's eyes shifted to the water, and Tanya nodded, even though she didn't really know what Janelle wanted. Tanya ran, vaulting with her staff over Colden's head and into the summer region, where she landed on top of a palm tree. Colden and Grayson both followed and leapt up toward her, and Tanya swung her staff, colliding with Colden and pushing him downward while Grayson dodged and tackled her off of the tree. Janelle kicked Colden back, sending him into the water, where she then aimed a dusted arrow.
Colden screamed out in pain as he was electrocuted, his aura rapidly depleted before he was just taken out of the tournament into safety. Janelle smirked before turning her attention to her struggling partner.
Having seen what happened to his teammate, it appeared Grayson was trying the same trick as he tried to lure Tanya into the water. Janelle quickly put an end to that idea as she aimed an arrow, freezing his foot to the ground and allowing Tanya to properly get a good hit on him. As Grayson went flying, Tanya and Janelle turned their attention toward their other teammates.
Raewyn and Lyra were still battling it out together while Nico and Lana fought. Tanya shot rockets at Lana, causing the girl to mess up a movement she had started and fall, allowing Nico plenty of free hits. Nico's sword danced at the speed of lightening, making Lana's aura flicker. She hastily composed herself, only to find herself hit right in the face by Janelle's bow. She stumbled backwards, tripping over Tanya's carefully placed staff toward the ground.
Nico's blow shattered her aura, knocking her out of the fight.
"Good work," Janelle said appreciatively before the three turned their attention toward their leader. Grayson suddenly made his way up before darting toward Lyra, who managed to just barely dodge.
"Let's go help her out!" Tanya exclaimed, and they ran over. Skilled as she was, Lyra couldn't find time to go on the offensive as she was forced to flip and dodge or block all of their coordinated blows. Raewyn slid between Lyra's legs before pushing the girl forward into Grayson's electricity dusted lance, electrocuting the girl rather painfully.
Lyra's eyes flashed red with fury as she fell to the ground, prompting them to think she was truly injured. Instead, Lyra rolled backward, swiping at Grayson's feet to knock him off balance. As Tanya swung her staff from behind Raewyn's back, Raewyn caught the weapon before she kicked Tanya backward. Nico charged next from the same angle, one eye on Janelle at all times as she dodged and kept her blades flying. As she saw the arrow fly, Nico activated her semblance, allowing the arrow to fly though her and cleanly knock into Raewyn's hand. Raewyn's axe hand grew encased with ice from Janelle's dust.
Raewyn growled as she tried to clumsily move her hand, though it was much heavier now. Raewyn's eyes flashed white, and she panicked, trying to move her arm out of position to no avail; Lyra dashed forward and grabbed ahold of Raewyn's arm before she flipped, using her momentum to spin and slam the girl straight into the ground.
Raewyn hit the ground hard, and Lyra swung her axe downward. Her blow was intercepted by Grayson's trident as the ice disappeared from Raewyn's arm. Grayson made smoke from his hands, completely shrouding the corner in smoke. Lyra coughed before managing to locate Tanya.
"Janelle, the ground!" Lyra exclaimed before getting hit by Grayson. She tried to block attacks she had no idea where they were coming from. "Tanya, get ready! Nico, point them out-!"
Janelle nodded before she aimed and shot fire dust at the ground, setting the warm
colored leaves scattered around on fire. Flames erupted, revealing the two members of Team GLCR as the fire spread. At the same time, Tanya grabbed Lyra before firing off gravity dust and activating her semblance, quickly sending them flying above the smoke and away from the fire. Nico leapt toward where they were before she melted into shadows to get out of Lyra's way. Lyra's crimson eyes followed Nico's pathing to find the hiding members of Team GLCR.
"Now!" Lyra shouted, and Tanya let go, dropping Lyra. She swooped downward, her axe swinging forcefully into both members of Team GLCR, sending them flying through the fire and against the trees. Janelle grabbed her wind dusted arrows, firing them up at their landing place, which swept the two members of the other team into the air. Lyra leapt right into the air, her axe swinging once more and knocking them out of the arena simultaneously.
"Hell yeah! Nice job, everyone!" Lyra held up her hands for high fives from everyone. "Everyone did great!"
"Yes, we did indeed," Janelle said with a small smile. "We are moving to the next round!"
"Hey, good job," Grayson nodded politely as he stood with the rest of his team, though Colden looked absolutely fried. "Congratulations on your win."
"Thanks! You too," Tanya grinned before realizing just what she had said. "Uh, I mean on your loss. Wait, that's-um. Sorry-"
"N-No, it's fine-! Wow, I can't believe-I can't believe that we even fought against the team that has Lyra in it," Lana still wasn't over it as she clapped her hands together. "Oh, it's just-wow! I'll be cheering you on forever-!"
"Thanks! I'll remember you when I'm down for sure," Lyra winked, her overall aura portraying a confident and effortless performance of a well-put together girl. Team LJNT knew her as someone quite different. "Would you like to go out for lunch?"
"M-Me!?? Oh-Oh my gosh, yes! Wait, is that okay-?" Lana panicked as she glanced over at her teammates, who just chuckled and nodded her on. "Yes! Yes, yes, yes!"
"You all could come with us!" Tanya invited as both teams exited the arena. "The more the merrier, right!?"
"N-Not really," Nico couldn't help but mutter, not that anyone really heard her.
"Sure, but I'd just like to say that you guys got lucky," Colden huffed. "So lucky!"
"Oh, Colden. Stop that," Raewyn shook her head. "They were just better. That's alright. We'll train to beat them next time, but for now,
just try to calm down, okay?"
"Hmph..."
"Oh, yeah. Let's all go eat! I know, we can get noodles!" Lyra cheered. "Let's go!"
"Hey- wait up!"
"Last one there is paying!!"
