4 - Blind Sided

- Lucy -

I poked his cheek repeatedly only to get a groan here and there from the dragon slayer. I called out his name multiple times which resulted in him stuffing his face under the pillow. "Natsu?"

Still yet, no response. I sighed and got out of the bed, shivering as my bare feet touched the icy floor. Sheesh, why is it so cold? I turned my head and seen the window, wide open, blowing cool morning air in.

"Really Natsu?" I murmured to myself before shutting it close.

"WHY IS IT SO COLD?" Natsu screamed, jolting up from his sleep and erupting into flames, literally.

"OUCH! NATSU!"

He groaned in frustration and rolled around in the bed, whining like a child. "Whyyyy isssss ittttt sooooo coldddddd .....~"

But he was right, even with the windows closed and two blankets over us, it was still freezing.
I told Natsu that we should pack our stuff and go home but he wouldn't budge. He told me we should stay one more night just in case, no matter how many times I begged him he kept saying no.

"You know what, let's just go find something to eat." He suggested.

"Like what? We're in the middle of nowhere."

"I'm sure they have a cafeteria or a lounge or something."

Before I left the room, I threw on a jacket and then followed behind Natsu. The little clinic we were in was bigger than I thought, it looked just like a hospital with its long eerie white corridors. "It's so quiet ....." I whispered for some reason.

"Oi, Doctor? You got anything to eat around here?" He called out to no one in particular. I pointed at a sign that said lounge and so we followed it. "Natsu don't you think it's weird that there's a clinic with no doctors around?"

"Yeah I guess .... but they've been nice enough to let us stay here."

He began to ramble on about finding the lounge so he could eat some food but I was really sketched out about this place. Something wasn't adding up and I don't like it. "Natsu, I think we should leave."

"If you wanna leave so bad we can, but right after I find something to eat."

"No come on Natsu, I don't like the way it feels here ....."I said sternly, pulling his arm back towards the room. Even though he whined all the way back I still dragged him behind me no matter what. When we got back to the room, I immediately started grabbing our bags off the floor and tossing them to Natsu.

"Wheres the exit?"

"What's the rush? Aren't you starving too?"

"Natsu, nows not the time. Why can't you just believe me when I say I get a bad feeling about this place!" I scolded him, leaving the room and roaming down the hallways. Once again, Natsu just whined and groaned how hungry he was.

"Will you stop being a child and just guide us out of here?"

"Fine .... we just have to go down these stairs."

As he was leading us, I kept whipping my head around, feeling skeptical about this whole place. So I kept close to Natsu and told him to hurry up. Finally, when we got to the base of the stairs I could see the entrance just a couple yards ahead of us.

Though I wasn't surprised, there was no one around in the lobby either. Not even a single person working at the counter. I don't know what the hells happening around here but I wanna go home.

I picked up the pace, rushing in front of Natsu and smiled as I finally stepped outside, feeling the cold breeze brush up against my face. "Okay Natsu, we can go and get food somewhere."

But there was no response, I turned my head behind me but he wasn't there. "Natsu?"

BOOM

My eyes widened in horror as the building exploded, nearly flying me backwards. I pushed myself off the ground and rushed towards the ruins, "NATSU!" I screamed out.

There was almost nothing left of the building, everything was just a big pile of concrete. "Natsu .....?" I called out once more, feeling my heart break and tears drench my face.

Everything around me was silent, there was no noise coming from the rustling branches, no birds flying above and there was not even a single breeze anymore.

- Mirajane -

"Did you call the spa?"

"Yeah but there was no answer."

"Well try again! We need Lucy and Natsu back here as soon as possible. Has anyone contacted Sting? He needs to know as well."

"I've been trying to but he isn't answering either."

I mentally face palmed and tried to run through more solutions. Where could a little girl in such a fragile state even go to? I've had everyone search the town and ask others on the streets. I bit my lip and looked over my shoulder, "Gajeel and Wendy. Have Pantherlily and Carla take you guys up into the air to get a better view of Magnolia. With her conditions, she shouldn't have gone out of town."

They both nodded and ran out of the guild, I looked at the rest and told them to do another sweep of the city. "Juvia if you don't mind, could you take a train to Sabertooth? If Sting won't answer then we'll have to go to him."

"You can count on me! I'll be back!" She waved before running out of the guild doors.

I looked around the empty guild hall and pondered hard, we're not gonna get anywhere if all I do is boss people around. I need to make myself useful as well.

- Wendy -

I scanned through the rows of buildings and the crowds of people walking around the town. Even if she's a little girl, she would be easy to spot since she stands out a lot. "You see anything Wendy?"

"No, but we have to keep looking. You go to the East and I'll keep searching around here!"

"Alright! Let us know if you find anything!" Gajeel yelled before him and Lily flew in the other direction.

"It's not your fault child."

"Not now Carla, we have to find Luna."

"I know we do but I don't want you blaming yourself."

I don't blame myself for what happened. But I do feel like I could've prevented it. If only I had came a bit earlier maybe I could've found her or stopped her from leaving. I just hope she's okay and that Lucy won't hate me after this. I hope you can forgive me.

—————————

- Sting -

I rolled over onto my back and stared up at the ceiling, maybe Rogue's right. Maybe going to Fairy Tail won't be such a bad thing, then I wouldn't have to stay up all night thinking about Lucy. "Sting." I heard someone call from the other side of my bedroom door.

"Yo?"

"Fairy Tail has been trying to contact you for the past couple hours. Don't you want to call them back?"

"Yeah not now. I still got important errands to do."

So I sat up and groaned, rubbing the side of my neck in discomfort. No matter how many times I lay in bed and close my eyes, I can't sleep without seeing Lucy at least once. But I can't just forgive her for what she did, that's not something you just do.

"Ugh, snap out of it Sting ...." I mumbled, hopping off the bed and throwing on an outfit for the day. I have to stop thinking about that and man up, I've got a daughter that needs me.

I closed the door behind me and started walking downstairs to see everyone still messing around and playing in the pool. "Sting! Come and swim!" Yukino smiled widely.

"Yeah maybe later. I gotta go do stuff, see you guys later." I waved and excused myself from the guild. I didn't have that much stuff to do, just hate staying there all day with nothing to do but drink and swim. All I really need to do is pay off some loans and order things for the guild then I'll probably head over to Magnolia.

"Sting. Where are we going?"

A weird low scream escaped my mouth in fear, "What the hell Rogue? You don't sneak up on a man like that! And what do you mean, we?"

"Are we going to Fairy Tail?"

"What's it to you?"

"I've been asking for days. I should at least get notified that you were going."

I sighed and gave in, telling him my plans for the day. Suddenly, Rogue had the biggest grin on his face.

- Juvia -

"One ticket please!" I told the man working at the ticket booth. He nodded and handed me a piece of paper before nodding over at me, "Your train seems to be delayed. It should arrive in about thirty minutes."

"Thirty minutes? Is there any other train I can take?"

Sadly, he shook his head and told me to just wait on the side until my train arrived. So I did and sat down on a bench, I can't wait for thirty minutes! So much could happen in such a short time. But in the end, I knew there was nothing I could do besides wait.

I sat there for minutes, glancing up at the big clock and fidgeting in my seat. "Come on ..... go by faster." I muttered to myself.

"What a sad sight ...."

"It is ..... c'mon on hon. We're gonna miss our train."

There was so many subtle whispers around me that I started to worry for whatever reason. I looked around and noticed a crowd of people surrounding something off to the side of me. But I pushed it aside, thinking it was just a dead animal or something.

"All aboard!" I heard a conductor yell. Joy and happiness filled my body as I jolted up from my seat and ran to my train. But before I got on, I glanced one last time behind me at the crowd and seen something oddly familiar. "Oh .... my god ....."

"WAIT!" I screamed, running back off of the train and over to the crowd of people. I pushed passed all of them without a care in the world and stared down, seeing her curled up in a ball. "Luna!" I called out, shaking her shoulders.

She whacked my hands away, fright and fear washed upon her face. I turned back toward the crowd and glared, "What're you all looking at? Don't you have places to be? Carry on!" I shooed them away.

"Luna! Oh thank goodness! My god, look at you!" I shouted, gleaming stars, hugging her and planting kisses all over her head. But once again, she pried herself off of me and curled back up into a ball. Does she not remember me? "Hey Luna .... what're you doing? I'm Juvia remember? From Fairy Tail. We met several years ago."

She looked up at me for a long moment and shook her head. Jeez, am I that forgettable, I sweatdropped.

I don't know what's wrong but something was telling me that she isn't all there. Being in a coma for that long at such a young age can definitely be traumatizing, maybe even enough for her to have amnesia. But how did she manage to get all the way over here to the train station? Especially in her condition, she looks like a wreck.

Although, I had to get her back to the guild as soon as possible. So I grinned sympathetically and reached my hand out toward her, "Take my hand Luna. I know you're frightened and confused right now but you can trust me. I'll take good care of you, I promise."

She looked at my hand in thought then up at me, I motioned her once more to take my hand. Slowly but surely, she lifted her hand up and placed it into mine. "Good job. Now come on, I know a place we could go."

"We checked everywhere!"

"There's no sign of her!"

"What are we gonna do?"

I caught everyone's attention and calmed them down for a second, "Has anyone been able to contact Lucy or Natsu?"

"No, but the spa they were staying at said they left in a hurry."

"Did they say why?" But Levy shook her head causing me to sigh in frustration. Every time we think we get closer to a solution we just get turned back around. "What about Sting?"

"One of the guild members said that he's out running errands."

"Well I sent Juvia there so hopefully she'll relay the message. The only thing we can do now is keep searching and hope Natsu and Lucy get back soon so —"

The guild doors creaked open, slowly starting to reveal someone. Two people actually, I smiled thinking it was Juvia and Sting but instead, "Lucy! Natsu!"

Next chapter you guys are gonna be shook.

Also, in this fanfiction, Juvia won't be speaking in third person like she does in the anime. It's just too much to write like that.
