Third Person POV

"Drop down on three," Leo ordered. "One, t—guys?"

Everyone had already hopped into the opening, and were inching along the wall. Leo sighed before falling down beside them.

They split off into two groups: Leo, Raph, Abby, and Kayla went one direction while Mikey, Donnie, Sarah, and Kenzie went the other.

Each group slid along the wall, every step cautious and tense. Their footsteps didn't make a sound, and the breaths they inhaled were barely heard. Oddly, no Kraang were around, which put everyone on edge.

In the center of the room, the tank of mutagemia that had been exploded was already repaired. The walls of the building had been replaced, too, though up close they were obviously temporary. It was astounding that the Kraang had rebounded so quickly.

There were faults in the repairs, however.

The tank wasn't as full this time, and only held one person's MGE. A grey color swirled inside, making Sarah inhale sharply.

"They made mine," she breathed, glancing at the rest of her friends. When she did, she felt something off. "Guys, where are Mikey and Kayla?"

Everyone's head jerked around, each examining the group to confirm Sarah's statement. Sure enough, Kayla and Mikey were nowhere to be found.

"Great," Raph groaned, and Leo shot him a look.

"Raph, Abby, and Kenzie, you three look for Mikey. Stay on this floor, they can't have gone far. Donnie and Sarah, stay with me, we need to continue the mission," the blue-clad turtle ordered.

"Are you crazy?" Sarah demanded. "I'm helping look for Kayla. What if-"

"Sarah, we need three people on each team. Abby can try to track Mikey's T-Phone, Kenzie will be their group leader, and Raph can be on lookout. We need Donnie for technological obstacles, you for guard and backup, and me as leader. My statement still stands," Leo replied firmly. He turned his gaze to Abby, Raph, and Kenzie. "Alright, teams. Move out!"

Abby, Kenzie, and Raph moved stealthily down the hallway, glancing in every door they could in search of their two missing teammates. Leo, Sarah, and Donnie hurried into the Kraang lab they had landed next to, examining the room, looking for anything that would lead them to finding answers.

"How'd they even make mine, anyway?" Sarah wondered. "Their only supply of my DNA was destroyed when we blew this place up."

"They must have found some traces of it somewhere while they were rebuilding," Donnie hypothesized. Sarah suspected something else was up, but didn't comment.

It was the same question they'd all been asking when Donnie and Abby first found the DNA mutagen. How did the Kraang get their DNA? Abby's was kind of explainable. When the girls' parents went missing, the adults were at Abby's house while the girls hung out at Kayla's. They came searching for their parents only to find Abby's house empty, and no trace of their parents anywhere.

Once the police had investigated, they admitted that no finger prints or any evidence was found that would point towards a kidnapping. The Kraang didn't have fingerprints, so that was why. The Kraang must have taken something of Abby's to get her DNA.

That didn't explain how they'd gotten the rest of the girls', however. Sarah supposed Donnie could be right, but Kayla and Kenzie were still left unknown.

Leo spotted a computer in one of the labs, and the three of them entered. Donnie hooked his T-Phone up to the computer and started typing rapidly. Soon after, a screen appeared that said "Downloading, 5% complete." The percentage started slowly rising.

The Kraang computer screen showed a lot of weird symbols and number-like things that neither turtle nor human could decipher. It was Kraang language.

"Hopefully, the Kraang Communication Orb will be able to translate this," Donnie stated as the loading bar reached 30%. Sarah tapped her foot impatiently.

"Why's it so slow?" she asked. Leo and Donnie shared a look, and than Leo turned to face Sarah.

"Let's keep looking while Donnie stays here," he suggested, brushing past Sarah to exit the room. After letting out a light huff, Sarah followed.

Meanwhile, Raph, Abby, and Kenzie were searching for Kayla and Mikey. As they neared the last of the rooms on the floor, Raph scowled and slammed a sai down.

"This is so stupid, that we have to stay in this floor," he complained. He was about to fling the door open to walk down the stairs when a hand on his shoulder stopped him.

"Raph, Leo said to stay up here, so we will," Kenzie said firmly. Raph shrugged her hand away, but made no more moves towards the stairs.

"Maybe we missed them?" Abby suggested, but her voice showed that she didn't believe it. Raph was right: by now, they could have gone anywhere. Kenzie nodded, anyway.

"It doesn't hurt to double check," she said, turning to look back in all the rooms they had just checked.

They arrived back where they started within a few minutes; none of them really looked very well the second time around. A swift glance and then onto the next one.

"We need to look down further," Raph insisted. Kenzie found herself starting to agree when Abby started speaking.

"Well, they must have left for some reason," she pointed out. "Maybe they're looking for something?"

The trio pondered the thought, when suddenly a thought struck Kenzie.

"Our parents!" she exclaimed. "I bet Kayla went to look for them and Mikey went too!"

Realization dawned on Abby face while Raph bit back a growl.

"Why wouldn't they tell us, though?" he asked angrily.

"Maybe they thought we wouldn't let them go," she wondered.

As the two turtles and half-bear went to find Leo, Sarah, and Donnie, the latter came jogging up from another hallway.

"We got something!" both Donnie and Abby called to the opposite group. Shooting a look at Donnie to establish that she'd go first, Abby led her group over.

"Mikey and Kayla aren't on this floor. We think they're looking for our parents," she explained. Leo frowned, but said nothing.

"We got some information from a Kraang computer. We can't know what it says until the Kraang Communication Orb translates it," Donnie informed.

"Guys, you know how there's no Kraang up here?" Sarah suddenly questioned. Everyone nodded. "What if that's because they're after Mikey and Kayla?"

Leo's eyes widened, and he turned towards the way Abby, Raph, and Kenzie had come from. "Then we need to find them!"

Panicked, everyone hurried to get to the stairs. Before they could go down, however, the door opened and Mikey and Kayla exited.

Leo's eyes jumped to Kayla and Mikey with relief and anger, and then to the unconscious girl on Mikey's back.

"What the shell were you two thinking?!" he scolded. Kayla opened her mouth to reply when the door was slammed open once again. A group of Kraang droids stood in the stairwell, causing panic to rise in the group of heroes once again.

"Tell you later!" Kayla squeaked, sprinting away from the armed droids and leading the rest of her group away from the aliens.

Leo slashed at them while Mikey swung his nunchucks, and together they destroyed their robot bodies and left their pink brain-bodies squirming around.

The two of them ran up to join their family, and together, the octad of humans and mutants escaped.

Kayla rushed into the lair, not bothering to inform Splinter of her arrival. Donnie followed close behind, the two of them reaching the lab. Donnie pushed it open and gestured to Mikey, who had also arrived, to lay the knocked out girl on the couch.

"Will she be ok, Donnie?" Kayla pestered. The purple-clad terrapin nodded distractedly as he gathered first aid supplies. "She will?"

Donnie let out a short huff, turning to Kayla. "I don't know, and I won't be able to find out if you keep asking!"

Kayla held her hands up in surrender and backed away. Donnie gathered all that he needed and hurried into the living room.

"So this is your sister, Kayla?" Leo questioned. He had asked twice who she was on the way back, but Kayla was too worried to answer. Abby, Kenzie, and Sarah informed him that she looked like her sister, but mutated.

"Yes," Kayla replied finally, not taking her eyes off the girl as Donnie worked. As it turned out, the girl wasn't injured, just unconscious and had a few marks from the bindings she's been in before Kayla and Mikey found her.

"What's her name, again? Abby told me, but I forget," Mikey asked, taking a seat on the floor near Kayla.

"Samantha," she replied.

On the way to the lair, Mikey had explained why he and Kayla had gone off on their own: Kayla didn't want to sidetrack the mission but wanted to search for her sister, and Mikey went with her.

Leo hadn't been happy, but he was just glad they hadn't run into many Kraang droids.

Just as Kenzie and Sarah walked back to their room, Donnie finished with his injury examination.

"She's fine," he announced, causing Kayla to relax majorly. Donnie stood up and went to the kitchen, coming back with a water bottle. He opened it and poured some on Samantha's face.

She shot up immediately, exclaiming, "Hey!"

Kayla laughed in relief, jumping up to hug her sister. Samantha looked confused for a second and stared at her sister before unsurely hugging back.

"Kayla?" she asked. Her sister nodded with a grin.

"I found you, Sam!" she said happily. Samantha smiled, but then noticed the five turtles in the room and shrieked.

"Sam, it's ok!" Kayla soothed. "They're Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and they're our friends."

Samantha looked at Kayla like she was insane. "You mean like that sho-"

Abby interrupted her with a cough. "Um, yes, like that turtle Kayla saw at the pond."

Samantha looked at Abby fearfully. "Weren't there four?" she whispered to Kayla, who bit her lip.

"That's Abby," she replied, earning a disbelieving look. Samantha looked at Abby, noticing her blue eyes and the now-green freckles on her nose and forehead. Even though her dark hair was gone, Samantha could see the similarities.

"How did that happen?" Samantha asked confusedly. She glanced down at her tail, which was swaying lightly behind her. "Did the robots use that green goop on you too?"

"No, I spilled it," Abby answered sheepishly. Samantha suppressed a smile. "Green goop? Like, turquoise?"

"No. It was like a leaf green. They poured some weird, gelatin stuff on me and I grew ears and a tail," Samantha explained. Kayla was looking at her sister with a furrowed brow. "What?"

"Something else is different," Kayla muttered, looking up and down her sister's face. Finally she focused on her eyes and gasped. "You're eyes! They're yellow!"

"Really?" Samantha asked, surprised. "I didn't notice. I guess I never realized until now, but there were no mirrors for me to look at myself at that place with the robots. The Kraang, right?"

Leo nodded, stepping forward a little. "Yeah. And the building is called TCRI," he answered. Samantha nodded, not making eye contact with the blue-clad turtle.

"Hi!" Mikey greeted, bouncing up to Samantha. "I'm Mikey. And the turtle in blue is Leo, the geeky one."

Samantha gave a small smile at Mikey's perkiness. "Hi, Mikey."

The orange-masked turtle grinned, and pointed to his intelligent brother. "That's Donnie. He's the smart one. And that's Raph. He's-"

"I can introduce myself," Raph cut him off. "I'm the awesome one."

Snorting in amusement, Mikey scoffed, "Ha, nuh uh!" Turning to Samantha, he whispered, "He's the angry one."

Raph launched himself at Mikey and tackled his younger brother to the ground. Samantha watched them, amused by their banter.

"Ow! Ow! Raphie!" Mikey yelped, shoving the older turtle off with a smile.

"And you're... Abby?" Samantha asked, still not quiet convinced. "This is so weird."

"You're a fox-girl with yellow eyes, and you call us weird?" Abby laughed. Samantha shot her a playful glare that said Sometimes-I-wish-Kayla-wasn't-friends-with-you.

"We better tell Splinter," Leo said as Sarah and Kenzie reentered the living room.

"You're awake!" Kenzie smiled, waving to Samantha. Sarah smirked and gave a nod of greeting.

"And you guys have been living with giant turtles," Samantha retorted smoothly. Kayla rolled her eyes with a giggle.

"We met them and had nowhere else to go, so why not?" she explained. Samantha shrugged.

Conversation continued all night, with Kayla and Samantha catching up on the things they missed. Kayla promised to try and convince Splinter to let her stay, and she was pretty sure he would, but who knows? Maybe he wouldn't want any more girls in his home.

That night, Samantha laid on an air mattress that Abby had found in a closet, snuggled up next to Kayla.

"I missed you," Samantha whispered. Kayla smiled, giving her sister a kiss on the head.

"I missed you too, Sammy."
