I accidentally published the last chapter without a title at first oops 😂 Also sorry for the long wait. I'm really bad at updating 😬

Sarah swung a wrapped fist at Kenzie, who dodged and kicked. Sarah jumped backwards, Kenzie's foot narrowly missing her stomach.

Loud shouts were heard coming from the lab, and as Kenzie tilted a head towards the dojo exit to see what was happening, Sarah charged and knocked her to the ground.

"Hajime," Splinter said firmly. Kenzie stood up, pain flashing in her eyes for a split second as she pushed herself up with her healing foot.

The two quickly bowed down to Splinter and hurried out of the dojo, heading towards the lab. They noticed Leo and Raph exchange glances before also going towards Donnie's work room.

Kayla and Mikey stood, Kayla using Mikey as a support beam, and they, too, went into the lab. Mikey's green thumbs were whirring across the screen as he rushed to pause whatever they were watching.

Together, the six of them entered the lab with Casey in pursuit.

"What's with all the noise?" Raph questioned, quirking an eyebrow line at the excited faces on Donnie and Abby. April was grinning, and turned to the newcomers.

"They made a brain worm reversal serum!" April explained. Leo's face lit up immediately as he glanced over to his tied-up sister. Mikey broke into a smile, happy as always. Kayla gave a small grin as Kenzie eyes the serum warily.

"You're sure it'll work?" Sarah asked skeptically, voicing Kenzie's thoughts.

"Ninety-nine point eight percent sure," Abby assured with a smirk. Shrugging, Sarah nodded. Kenzie sighed slowly. There was an awkward pause, no one really knowing what to say.

"Well? Try it!" Raph snapped, making Abby jolt back from his sudden loud voice. She nodded quickly, filling a syringe with the serum and nearing Karaii.

The snake mutant hissed, her eyes burning with anger. Leo and Donnie pinned her snake arms down as Abby carefully injected the cure into Karai's pale arm.

Everyone was still for a few seconds as Karai froze and stopped hissing. Her serpentine eyes widened, her mouth hanging open. Suddenly, Karai started making a choking sounds, and as she gagged a slimy worm flew out of her mouth and onto the ground.

Donnie released his older sister and slammed a box down on the worm. It squirmed around for a moment before deflating with a slow squeaking sound, and exploded. Green worm insides burst out of it and landed against the side of the box with a splat!

Abby gagged, sticking her tongue out in disgust. Kayla scrunched up nose, pursing her lips while Mikey grinned at the odd sound it made.

"It's like balloon!" he exclaimed, which actually wasn't too far off. Raph rolled his eyes.

A cough came from Karai as she recovered, all eyes turning to the snake mutant. Karai looked up at everyone with startlingly yellow, slitted eyes, making Kenzie suck in a breath.

"Karai?" Leo asked cautiously. Her head turned to look at him as he slowly approached.

"Hello, Leonardo," Karai said softly. She glanced at the ropes confining her with a troubled look. "How did I get here?"

Leo and Donnie exchanged nervous glances. Leo muttered, "Well, um.."

"Shredder used a mind control worm on you," Abby explained quickly. Karai simply nodded, not yet realizing that she had never met Abby before. Mikey bounced over.

"Hey Karai! Wanna get untied?" he asked cheerily, not waiting for an answer before whipping out a small knife from a hidden pocket in his belt. Mikey began hacking at the ropes binding Karai, and soon she was free.

Abby looked at the pocketknife in Mikey's hand with wonder; she never knew they had slots other then where their weapons went. She also wondered if Mikey had experience cutting binds, because he was doing it well.

After a minute Karai was free. She stood, rolling her wrists to stretch them after being tied for so long. Her slitted eyes traveled over the five turtles, and filled with confusion when her eyes landed on Abby.

"Who are you?" she asked suspiciously, her skin becoming slightly more snake-like, prepared to defend herself. Abby threw her arms up in a surrender as Karai spotted Kenzie, Kayla, and Sarah.

"We're the turtles' new friends," Kenzie answered, glancing at Abby unsurely. Abby nodded quickly.

"Uh, yeah! While you were mind controlled we met the turtles. And I got mutated."

Abby laughed uneasily, smiling hesitantly at Karai.

"Also, Kenzie is part bear," Sarah added, shooting a look at Kenzie. Kenzie shifted on her feet. "She can switch to a bear if she tries."

"What about you?" Karai questioned Sarah. Sarah's mouth twisted into a frown.

"I'm easily angered," she responded shortly. Karai finally looked at Kayla, who shrugged nonchalantly.

"I'm not any mutant. Just ordinary Kayla!" she grinned, flashing a thumbs up. Her hand immediately went back down to the table to keep her balance while her other flew to her head as she winced. Abby gave her a concerned look but Kayla was fine after a second.

Karai nodded, but suddenly hissed in terrifying way. She fell to her knees and morphed into a light pinkish-purple snake, her arms turning into two smaller snakes with heads on the end. Everyone watched intently.

Karai was obviously trying to change back, but she wasn't able to. She hissed in frustration and sat up straight, looking at Leo, and lunged. Leo yelped and jumped away from her outstretches snake head arms. Karai let loose an odd cry as she leapt at Raph this time, knocking him off his feet and one of her hands sinking it's fangs into his arm.

"Raph!" Donnie cried, whipping out his staff as Karai aimed at him. He blocked Karai's blow, pushing her away and causing her to go for Mikey. The orange-clad turtle yelled in surprise, whipping out his nunchucks and instinctively whacking Karai with them. She slithered to the floor, her eyes filled with a crazy expression, before she seemed to calm down.

Karai turned back into a human, breathing heavily and on her knees. She squeezed her eyes shut, and once she caught her breath opened them again. No one said a word as we stared at Raph.

Leo made his way over to his red-clad brother, kneeling down next to him. Leo started murmuring some kind of chant, his hands making shapes to go along with the words.

"Rin. Pyo. Toh. Sha," Leo murmured under his breath. In a few moments Raph was healed, and he sat up while angrily looking at his sister.

"Cmon, I thought we were over that!" he snarled. Abby raised an eyebrow.

"You've been bitten before?" she asked. Raph huffed.

"Yes," Leo answered for him. "Before we met you four, and when Karai was under the brain worm's control, she attacked all of us. Splinter taught me that mantra that healed us."

Abby nodded in understanding, turning to Karai. "I'm Abby, by the way."

Karai's eyes glazed over and she snapped at Abby, making the female turtle mutant jump back fearfully. Karai quickly controlled herself, slinking away from her adopted family and their mew friends.

"I cannot stay here," she stated simply. Leo frowned.

"Why not?"

"I'm too dangerous. I may be out of Shredder's control, but the snake mutation will take over. Eventually, I'll be nothing more then a mindless snake and not Karai, Miwa, or anything human."

Leo's frown deepened, concern etched into his face. "But we could help you. Donnie and Abby could-"

"I'm sorry, Leo. I have to go. It's for your own safety."

And with that, the snake girl turned and ran, zooming out if the laid before anyone could stop her. She faded into the darkness, the only indication of her being their being the faint sound of scales against the metal train tracks.
