Chapter 17: The Creeping Doom

A/N: This chapter is based on the newest TMNT episode, The Creeping Doom. It's my new favorite TMNT episode 😂
I'm sorry I had to 😂😂😂
P.S. The new nickname for this book is LWT

Abby's P.O.V.

"My sons. Where have you been?" Splinter demanded when we arrived at the lair. His eyes landed on Karaii. "My daughter..." he said softly.

"The SSSSSSShredder isssss my father," Karaii hissed.

"I see she is still under Shredder's control," Splinter noted, and I noticed a bit of disappointment in his voice.

"Sensei, since she poses as a threat until she is released from Shredder's mind control, we need to keep her tied up somewhere... but where do we keep her?" Leo asked. Splinter stroked his long beard-string thing.

"Keep her in Donatello's laboratory. Donatello, my son, do you think you could create an antidote for the mind control worm?" Splinter ordered and asked with authority. Donnie nodded.

"I'll try my best, Sensei, but I can't say for sure whether I can make a cure or not."

Splinter dipped his head in a small nod. Then he turned to me.

"Abigail, please help Donatello in finding this cure," he requested.

"Hai, Sensei," I said, smiling at how natural the words felt in my mouth. He smiled back. Suddenly, I remembered why we had to bring Karaii to the lair in the first place. Me.

"Um, Master Splinter, before I help Donnie, can I speak with you? Alone?" I asked. Splinter nodded, and beckoned for me to follow him into the dojo.

"What is troubling you, my daughter?" he asked. I was surprised he called me 'daughter', and he noticed. Splinter smiled. "You are living with us, and I will begin training you soon. I will look at all of you as my daughters now."

I smiled in understanding. "So.. anyway. While we were at the go karts - I assume you know that Donnie made a track for us to race on down here - we were attacked by Foot bots!" I exclaimed.

"We started fighting, and then my vision got all fuzzy, and all I could see was white. By the time it went away, I had destroyed any bots that were close to me and almost attacked Kenzie, too. Then she pretend-shoved me, and the white came back and this time when it ended, I had Kenzie pinned on the floor," I nervously told him what happened, and also informed him on everything that happened with Karaii.

"And I can't remember anything that happens when my vision gets all white and fuzzy," I sighed. I looked up at Splinter.

"This is interesting, Abigail. Thank you for telling me. I do not yet know what it means, but it seems as if your new, mutated form has the skills of my sons. However, since your mind does not know the skills yet, your body takes over and uses my sons' training against any threats to your safety, even if they are your friend," Master Splinter explained wisely.

"Thanks, Master Splinter," I thanked (ha, obviously). I excused myself, and was about to leave when Splinter called me back.

"Abigail, before you leave, I would like to know why you brought this situation to me," he questioned. I thought about it.

"Well, I guess this kind of thing just seemed like something you would know how to explain. Donnie wants to run tests on me, but I don't think he'll find anything useful. Besides, I trust you with this kind of thing, like... like how I trust my father," I smiled at my new sensei, and he smiled warmly in return. "Thanks again, Sensei."

"You are very welcome, my daughter. I will meditate on it, and inform you if I find any more information."

I nodded politely and exited the dojo, thankful that I asked Splinter but also worried about what he said. If my body took over in a serious fight, I could end up badly injuring one of the turtles or my friends.

Sighing, I headed to bed, seeing as it was getting late. I saw Leo yawn and walk to his room, shoulders slumped. Either he was really tired, they hadn't gotten anywhere with Karaii, or both.

I made it to Donnie's room, collapsing tiredly on his bed. Soon enough, I was sound asleep.

The next morning, I skipped breakfast, still thinking about my conversation with Splinter the night before.

I absentmindedly walked to the lab, and I only realized it when I saw Karaii tied up in a chair. Donnie was doing something with a brain worm. I assumed he was trying to reverse it so they could save Karaii.

Mikey was there, too, but my friends and the other two turtles were nowhere to be seen in the lab.

"And now to add a teaspoon of- oh, hey Abby," Donnie greeted as I walked in. I strolled over to the table he was sitting at.

Mikey jumped at the sudden non-scientific muttering and hit the table and the shelf above, spilling a little bit of brain worm juice on mine and Donnie's hands and all the things on the shelf onto the floor.

"Ow!" Donnie and I exclaimed at the same time (again!), simultaneously holding our hands in pain. The purple liquid stung, but didn't leave a mark. My skin just absorbed it.

Donnie glared at the orange-masked turtle, who laid on the ground with what looked like souvenirs of defeated enemy's around him.

"Oh! Sorry D!" Mikey said with a sheepish smile. Donnie sighed, frustrated.

"You just messed up days of work on the reverse brain worm!" Donnie groaned, holding his hand as if he burnt it. Which was very close to the feeling. "I'm going to get some antiseptic for us. And don't touch anything!"

"You can count on me, Don!" Mikey exclaimed.

Donnie exasperatedly walked over to the exit, and I followed.

"Well that was painful," Donnie commented with a wince as we each grabbed a cotton ball and dabbed our hands with antiseptic.

"He's Mikey, Don. Give him a break, you don't know how his... most likely small brain works," I said lightheartedly, earning a smirk from Donnie.

"I guess," he sighed.

"Hey Don! It's time for training!" Mikey called as he walked past into the dojo. Donnie nodded and hastily stood up, and after shooting a glare at Mikey, jogged to catch up. I followed to watch.

"April, your skills have improved greatly. Spar with Leonardo again," Master Splinter was saying to April O' Neil.

"This time, I won't go easy on you, April," Leo said with a smirk, whipping out his katanas. April returned the smile.

"Good with me!" she retorted, fanning out her shrukin.

They charged at each other, and the sound of metal clashing filled the dojo. Raph went up against Mikey and Donnie, who spotted April and just stopped fighting to gave at her with a spaced-out expression. Raph threw Mikey into him, and they both went crashing down.

I walked over to sit with my friends, who had also come to spectate. Leo had April pinned, and was helping her up. Now everyone was watching Donnie and Raph spar as Mikey sat down with us.

Donnie dodged all of Raph's attacks, flinging one of his sais into the air. It sliced off a leaf from the tree. It fell down slowly, swaying back and forth.

My eyes followed it curiously, and I smiled goofily. It was a funny leaf! In the back of my mind, I noted that Donnie did the same.

Raph tackled Donnie when he was distracted, jumping on his back and leaving Donnie struggling to get out from under him. I quickly wiped the ridiculous grin off my face before anyone saw it.

"Ok ok! Raph! Mercy! White flag! I surrender!" Donnie exclaimed. Raph smirked, satisfied and got off.

"Wow, Donnie, I thought yiu had me there, but that was just embaraassing," Raph laughed. Splinter gave him a look, and Raph immediately helped Donnie up. Master Splinter looked at Donnie questioningly.

"You hesitated, Donatello," Master Splinter said gently, but sternly. Donnie looked down.

"I know, Sensei, I should've countered, but I... I just.... drew a blank," Donnie explained.

Master Splinter nodded and dismissed us. Donnie, April, and I headed to the lab.

"You ok Donnie?" April asked him while we walked. He shook his jead with a shrug, massaging his knuckles. Or itching the spot where the brain worm juice spilt on him, it could've been either.

"I thought a little training would clear my head. I can't figure out this brain worm solution for Karaii," Donnie admitted.

"Yeah. We would be closer if someone-" I started, shooting a glare at Mikey. "-hadn't spilled it on our hands and ruined our progress."

"Is there anything I could do to help you guys?" April asked. I shrugged.

"Yeah, maybe," I replied.

"I could use a fresh sample of your DNA," Donnie added.

We arrived at the lab. The entire room was trashed! I gasped.

"Wha-?" Donnie asked with disbelief.

"But how did-" I started. We came to the realization at the same time.

"Mikey!" we yelled in unison. I didn't even bother complaining that me and Donnie said it at the same time.

The orange-masked turtle appeared.

"What the-! Whoa, I definitely didn't do this! At least I don't think I did this," Mikey exclaimed at the sight of the mess.

"Mikey!" I groaned, grabbing a broom. Donnie and April did the same.

"Uhhh... I can.. help you clean it up!" Mikey offered. "I won't break anything, promise!"

He picked up a Kraang head that had been on the souvenir shelf earlier.

"The stuff that is the stuff that must be cleaned up or else the turtle known as Donatello's head with explooooode!" Mikey said robotically. I shrieked, whacking him with the broom.

"Kraang!" I yelped. He stood up, rubbing his head.

"Ow, what was that for, dudette?" he complained. I smiled apologetically.

"Sorry... you just... scared me," I apologized sheepishly. Mikey waved it off and picked up a foot bot head, beginning to do the same thing. April giggled.

"Ok, Leo, stop," I deadpanned.

"Yeah, real funny. Just don't break anything else, Raph, or spill anything, or-"

"Dudette, did you just call me Leo? And Donnie, did you call me Raph? Dudes, I'm Mikey....." Mikey trailed off. I looked at him with confusion, and Donnie did the same.

"I did?" we said at the same time. We looked at each other and literally fell over, laughing. We stopped suddenly, and grabbed our brooms to continue sweeping.

Why the shell did we just start laughing? I thought.

"Um, are you two ok?" April asked. I sighed, looking at her like she was crazy.

"We're fine, why?" I asked. Concern flashed in her eyes for a second.

"Because you're both holding the broom upside down," she pointed out. My eyes widened as I flipped the broom around.

"Uhh..." I stuttered.

"Oh.. yeah... I meant to do that," Donnie said, and started sweeping again. "It's just..." he groaned. "I have a bad headache.

Mikey pulled a chair up to Donnie as he collapsed into it. Not thinking, I stumbled over and sat on Donnie to ease my own suddenly throbbing head.

"What are you doing?" April asked. I blushed and pushed myself off, shaking my head to clear it. It only made the ache worse.

"I don't know...." I mumbled.

"I'll go get some ice," April offered. "Just, sit for a sec!"

She jogged out of the lab, and talked to Master Splinter when a loud noise came from the dojo. I stood up, ignoring the pain in my head, and ran - more like stumbled - with Donnie to the dojo.

"Guys! Yah-" Leo called. We all arrived just in time to see a giant plant man strangling Leo against the dojo tree.
