Winter's P.O.V

"Hey mom, I am going out. Be back soon. Bye!" I say as I run down stairs and hold my phone close to me. I was probably looking like a freak since I couldn't get this stupid smile off my damn face.

"Where? It's like nearly midnight!" I smiled innocently before waving and running towards the door. But someone beat me to it as he trapped me from not leaving the door. I looked up to see a suprised Cole and I groaned and muttered 'dammit' under my breath.

"Please Cole. It's about...Sam." I say and his eyes widen up in amusement. "Oh really?" Cole chuckled, making me growl. I pushed him away from the door before looking at everyone in the room. "I dont know when I will be back but please for the love of god do not leave me so many calls when I turn my phone off." I look my mother knowing she would do it. She looked at me for a second before sighing.

"If your not back soon, I will spam your phone with missed calls and texts so where ever your going, don't take too long." My mom smiles at me and since I was already smiling, I just nodded. I looked at Cole and tapped his shoulder, causing him to look at me with a brow raised.

"Please don't worry. I will be back soon. Promise." I say and leave the house. I sigh and lean against the door. Wow, I actually thought that would be really hard to do.

I looked around to see that the sky was filled with stars and lights from the planes that were flying past. I smiled at the beautiful scene and headed down the path. My smile was immediately replaced with a frown as I face palmed my forehead.

"I really need to learn how to drive." I muttered. How in earth am I going to get to the lake when I can't drive? And walking really isn't my thing at midnight since there were really creepy dudes hanging around.

Another groan escaped my mouth when I noticed that I didn't know where to go. There were lakes everywhere so how would I know which one to go to? I sighed and hugged my jacket around my body as the cold air hit my skin.

Great, I don't know where I am suppose to go and I don't know how to get to where ever I am suppose to go. Perfect.

I found myself starting to walk down the pathway. It couldn't hurt but try and find the place, right? And I do have pepper spray in my jacket...

Okay, I honestly don't know where I am and I am starting to think I am lost...actually, I might be lost. Great. I've past about 10 lakes and I have ran away from 3 different men in the past hour. I crossed the road and looked around. No cars were in sight and the street lights were the only things keeping the place lit up right now.

I took my phone out and called Sam. I couldn't take it anymore. I needed stupid directions and I might be wrecking this whole romantic, secret place thing but I was not going to run miles again and again.

"Hello?" I heard Sam's voice making me sigh in relief. Thank the lord!

"Sam, I'm lost." I say and Sam chuckles. "I figured...okay, I am near Jordan's River. There is a sign just before it though." Sam says as he was still laughing. I just rolled my eyes and looked around. I saw a few signs so I decided to go up and look at all of them. "See you soon." I say with a small chuckle.

"I hope so." Sam says, a laugh escaping his lips. I smiled as I hung up the phone. I missed his voice so much I couldn't even explain it.

I looked at the first sign which had said 'Kalispella River'. I shook my head and looked at the second one which had said 'Georgia's River'. I ran a hand through my hair and crossed my fingers, hoping that this last sign would make me the happiest girl alive.

Jordan's River.

I felt a smile appear on my lips as I noticed that I was nearly there. I was so close. Damn, I didnt need to call him, I could of just looked at the stupid signs!

I pushed the thoughts away and found myself running forward, a bridge ahead where a slope of what looked like sand was. I ran across the bridge and down the slope where I saw my jaw drop.

It may have been 1 am right now but I couldn't care less because I saw the man I loved smiling at me as he stood next to a blanket where there was a basket. I felt all the emotions flutter in my stomach, making me nervous but happy at the same time.

Then it all felt like it was slow motion.

I was running towards Sam as fast as I could and when I reached him, I smiled at him and hugged him so tight to the point I was afraid of letting go. I felt Sam's arms wrap around me, hugging me back. I closed my eyes, enjoying the feeling that was running across my body at the very moment.

"It took you long enough." Sam chuckled. I looked up at him, my eyes opening as Sam looked down at me with the cutest smile I had ever seen him wear. I shook my head with a chuckle as Sam took my hand, making me sit next to him on the little red blanket.

"I liked your poem." I said with a smile as I leaned on his shoulder. Sam nodded and smirked. "I actually felt proud of myself. I never paid attention in English so I don't know how my mind did it." I just smiled and looked ahead to see the lake shine from the moon, making it look beautiful. The stars were visible from here and the perfectly shaped trees were just right to make the whole scene perfect.

"Sam?" I look at him as he looked down at me with a smile. "Yes, Winter?" I felt a whole bunch of fireworks going off in my stomach when Sam had said my name. It sounded so perfect like my name was ment to be said by him. I shook my thoughts away and looked at Sam.

"Why did you sent me the message?" I ask and he sighed before looking ahead. I stayed silent for a few seconds before frowning.

"I realised I was a dick for running out on you when you had confessed about your feelings for me. I was just so confused but cautious because I know you deserve better. A nice girl like you doesn't deserve a messed up person like me. But I was talking to my old friend, Kaitlin, and she knew what I was going through. I was scared, not only for my sake but for yours. I kept telling myself I wasn't falling for you because I didnt want to hurt you again but I realised that I couldnt hide the feelings anymore so I had to meet you and explain." Sam looked at me with a small smile before looking at the view again.

I was about to say something but Sam had placed a finger on my lips as he started to talk again.

"I know when I had first met you, I was a jerk and I wasnt nice to you at all. But when I had gotten close to you, I knew that we would just click and get along even though we have had a few rough patches but we did get along. Winter, I loved spending time with you at the diner even though I didn't show it. I loved spending time with you in the pool when it was 4 am and you started drowning me when Alec walked in." I chuckled at the memory as Sam continued.

"I loved spending time with you at the beach, I loved drinking at the party with you and sitting on the roof when you had admitted you liked me when you were drunk and you called yourself a man. I even loved talking to you that night when I had snuck into your room when you were ignoring me. I loved getting you that little puppy and seeing your face. And I love spending time with your right now...and I hope it never ends." Sam smiled making my blush at all the memories we had together.

We may had fought a lot but out of all the memories, I liked the pool one the best. We laughed and smiled so much and I wouldn't change it for the world. I knew Sam had a side to him that not many people saw. I was just lucky that I was one of those people who got to see it.

"Sam, whats in the basket?" I asked him, sort of changing the subject. Sam smirked and looked at me as if he was saying 'find out yourself'. I looked at the basket and grabbed the handle, picking it up and slowly lifting the little lid.

"Choc mint icecream?!" I looked up at Sam with a big smile on my face as he just smirked.

"I always knew you had a thing for that." He chuckles and I looked at the tub and blushed.

He remembered.

I looked through the basket and found a spoon and grabbed it. I opened the tub and scooped a big chunk out of the icecream and placed it in my mouth. I closed my eyes and smiled in delight.

I scooped another bit of icecream and just as I was about to place it in my mouth, Sam had moved his head and stole my scoop. He smiled at me and took the spoon from me, having some more.

"I got this for you but honestly, I just want to have it to myself now. This is really good." Sam says as he takes my icecream into his mouth. I rolled my eyes playfully and looked in the basket.

"Sam, why did you only bring one spoon?" I ask him as he takes another scoop of icecream into his mouth. "I dont know?" Sam says with a chuckle. I frown but Sam pouted before scooping some icecream and raised it near my mouth. I chuckled and shook my head, also pushing the spoon away.

"That would be wierd." I say and Sam laughed, his eyes closing as he tilted his head back. I smiled at the sight of his laugh, he looked so cute when he did that.

After Sam had recovered from his laugh, he looked at me with a serious look, making my smile disappear in a flash. He narrowed his eyes at me and I parted my lips until my mouth was open. Just as I was about to speak, Sam had shoved the spoon in my mouth, making me face palm myself in defeat as Sam showed his signature smirk. I rolled my eyes but ate the icecream anyway, a small smile creeping onto my lips making Sam chuckle.

"Cute." He mumbled as he rested his hands behind his back as he looked at the view. I crossed my legs and sighed, not it sadness but in a happy way. I was happy to be spending time with Sam.

Sam had shown me he wasn't the rude, cold hearted person he was to other people. He had showed me he wasn't what everyone said he was. He wasn't scary or cruel anymore and I saw that change in him. Sam was the type of guy you would stay away from but instead, here I am, sharing icecream with this 'bad boy'. Honestly, I thought Sam would be bad like stealing cars, selling drugs, smoking constantly, yelling, tattoos, devilish smile and all the type of things bad boy would do but that just goes to show that people only use stereotypes by just the way a person looks or first impression or something. I have known Sam for...9 months now? He had more things behind him, the nicer and pleasant things because he had broke the barrier that was up when I had first met him. It's like he is a completely changed person...well, I wouldn't say completely changed...lets just say I have known more about him which expressed his personality more, showing more sides and more feelings.

"Let's go for a swim." I smiled and nodded as I watched Sam get up. My eyes looked up at him as he started to take his shirt off. My eyes widened.

"What the hell are you doing! You trying to be Magic Mike now?" I immediately covered my eyes. Sam grabbed my arm, making it move out of the way from my eyes as he looked down at me with a smirk. "We are going to go for swim."

I shook my head straight away. "When did I agree to this!? The water is probably freezing!" I shrieked as I looked at the water. I heard one of Sam's magnificent laughs as he grabbed my hands, pulling me up from the sand. He brought his face closer to mine, our noses so close from touching yet so far.

"You agreed 13 seconds ago, babe." Sam whispered, his breath hitting my face, making a delighted shiver run down my spine but I hid my reaction and shook my head.

"Okay, I admit I might of said yes but that doesn't prove-"

A squeal escaped my lips as I felt myself being lifted into the air. I looked up to see the bridge and the pathway that had led me to the lake. I looked down to see Sam's feet and I instantly knew what was going on.

"Sam, I beg of you!" I scream and kick my legs on his chest. I heard Sam laugh but he didn't stop walking. I sighed as I looked down at the sand and when I saw the water starting to run over Sam's feet. My eyes widened and I hit Sam's back with my fists.

"Please! Please for the love of god, let me go!" I yelled, earning a laugh from Sam as I felt myself being picked up and placed down. I looked down to see the cold water up to my knees.

He is so lucky I was wearing shorts...

"Happy?" Sam asked, an amused smirk on his face as he stared at me with a raised brow. I nodded but looked at water that was currently freezing my feet. "Yes, but I told you the water is freezing..." I state with a frown. Sam rolled his eyes and all of a sudden, he started to walk forward, into the deeper part of the lake.

"Uh, Sam, what are you doing?" I ask him but I couldn't help look at his back and how his muscles moved and his shoulder blades...oh my-

"I'm going for a swim but if you just want to stand there checking me out, I guess that's fine too." Sam shrugged and just as those words left his mouth, I blushed hard.

Is there any time that I won't get caught when I check him out?

I sighed and looked down at what I was wearing. The jacket was off and I was in my shorts and singlet. Ugh, whats the point...

I lifted my singlet over my head and shrugged at my shorts. I took in a deep breath before walking towards where Sam was now sitting which was on a branch that was sticking out of the water. I appeared by his side and he laughed.

"So you chose to ditch the 'checking out' thing just to be here, with your shirt off? Okay... score!" Sam through his hands in the air, causing him to fall off the branch and falling in the water. I laughed at his clumsiness and sat on the branch.

Then I felt cold hands on my shoulders and I turned around to see Sam but what I didnt expect was for Sam to lean in quickly, his eyes slipping shut before his lips connected with mine in a split second. My eyes widened but I couldn't push him off, his lips were stuck to mine and oh my, I loved it! I slipped my eyes shut as I felt my legs started to loose feel. Instead of fireworks, my butterflies of joy came to say hello.

Sam brought his hands down to my hips, turning me around fully so he was standing in between my legs as they dangled in the cold water. I brought my hands up to Sam's neck and pulled him a little closer if that was even possible. I felt Sam's smile against my lips, making all the butterflies multiply by 100.

Then Sam linked my lips, asking for an entrance that I quickly gave him as his tongue started to dance with mine. Sam's hands ran up and down the side of my stomach, causing my skin to heat up from his touch.

"S-Sam..." I managed to say as my breath started to go away but honestly, I felt my lips were stuck to Sam's soft lips, making me want to never break the kiss but unfortunately, the loss of breath was coming fast.

I broke away, trying to get oxygen in my lungs as quickly as I could. My hands never left from Sam's neck and Sam's hands didn't stop running down my stomach.

I saw a smile appear on Sam's face as he looked at me like I was his trophy. "God, you don't know how long I wanted to do that." Sam grinned causing me to roll my eyes as I laid my head on his shoulder, my own smile spreading on my lips.

"Sam, I just wanted to ask...where does that leave us now?" I say, my head not leaving from Sam's shoulder.

"Well, Winter, could you make me the happiest person alive by accepting to be my beautiful girlfriend?" I rose my head up and looked Sam straight in the eyes, my smile not leaving.

"Hmm, that depends..." I say with a grin while Sam rose an eyebrow at me.

"Depends on what?" Sam asked, leaning a little closer to my face, a grin of his own starting to form onto his lips that were touching mine a minute ago.

"Well, 3 words." I say, wanting to hear the words I wanted to hear for so long now. I watched as Sam smirked at me.

"I want icecream?" I shook my head. "You want icecream?" I chuckle at this but shake my head. Sam's mouth formed into an 'o' shape before he rested his forehead on mine, a smile now on his face.

He then whispered, "I love you Winter." A smile spread across my face as my lips connected with Sam's again.

After everything that we have been through, after all the fights, laughs, holding hands, smiling at each other, glaring holes into each others heads, Sam loved me. He actually loved me and I heard him say it. Those 3 words that every girl wants to hear from someone so special to them and it came out of Sam's mouth and now he was asking me to be his girlfriend? I couldn't be happier.

"Sam, I will be your girlfriend." I say with a smile once the kiss broke.

"You mean, my beautiful girlfriend." Sam smirked as he wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me up to his chest. I rolled my eyes but smiled and nodded.

"I love you Sam."

"I love you too, Winter."
