I sighed contently and snuggled closer to the hard warm body. The arms that were around me tightened, I nuzzled my head into the warm material. My eyes snapped open and I turned to see Veer sleeping next to me and realized that I was snuggled up against his chest.

My breathing turned uneven. Everything that had happened last night flashed in my mind. It wasn't just my imagination or a dream. He really kissed me, we really had all those conversations and we even laughed. Everything about last night was true and it wasn't less than a dream.

He looked so handsome. The light stubble on his face, his red supple lips, and most of all the relaxed look on his face. Everything about him screamed handsome. Veer and I were finally together. But, I still had a nagging feeling that something was amiss. 

I ran my fingertips over his face and traced every inch of it. I snapped out of my reiver when someone started banging the door. It was Tanya. Shit, double shit!!! Veer was still here. If she sees us together she would never stop yapping about it and then our parents will get to know. That would be no good. Now was not the right time.

This can't be happening! No, no! I pulled away from Veer but that idiot pulled me back. I fell on his chest with a grunt. "Five more minutes Meera! I haven't slept this well in years! Please, I'm so comfortable! Don't move!" That's really sweet but the timing was all wrong.

I shook his shoulders roughly and asked him to get up. "Veer! Get up! Tanya is at the door! Go hide in the washroom while I open the door! She can't see us like this!!!" I told him frantically. Veer's eyes snapped open and widened.

He scrambled down the bed and stubbed his toe while running towards the washroom. I hissed as he cursed under his breath. Those are the worst. I got down from the bed and gestured at him to go to shut the door. Once he locked himself in the washroom. I quickly glanced around the room to make sure there was nothing that screamed Veer's presence.

"I'm coming Tanny! Hold on one minute!!!" I screamed and that's finally when the banging stopped. I found his jacket at the corner of the bed. I balled it up and threw it in the wardrobe. I glanced at my reflection and ran my fingers through my hair.

Taking a deep breath I walked towards the door and pulled it open. I made a mental note to give Veer an extra kiss for locking the door last night. If he hadn't done that then things would have definitely gone haywire.

I pulled the door open to find a very cheerful Tanya standing there and scrolling through her phone. "Hi Di, have you seen Bhai? Is he here?" I almost felt like we were busted but thankfully Veer was still in the washroom. Before I could answer Tanya skipped into the room. She made herself comfortable by sitting on the edge of the bed.

"Umm, he's not here Tanny? Why would he be here? Why do you ask though? This is not the first time he has disappeared without informing anyone! So, why the sudden curiosity?" I asked and eyed her suspiciously. If my guess is right she is here assuming that Veer was here after what had happened last night. Which by the way is true but Tanya can't know that!

She sighed disappointedly and shook her head sadly. "I just assumed because of what happened last night and you were sleeping in, which by the way never happens. Anyway never mind I should have known that this wasn't going to be an easy task!" I raised my brows and crossed my arms across my chest.

"Well, then I guess you assumed wrong! Don't worry about your brother he might have gone for a jog or maybe he had some work? So just chill!" I told her with a frantic voice. God, she was so right! Her assumptions were right on spot but I can't let her know anything.

I was really nervous about lying. I hope she doesn't figure out that I was lying but it already looked like she was suspicious. She raised her brows and imitated my posture. "Really? Why would he go for a jog when we all slept so late last night? Di, even if he did it's almost eleven in the morning! Don't you think he'll be back by now?"

Oh, Fuck! It's already eleven in the morning. What excuse am I supposed to come up with now? Oh god! Please save me. I opened and then again closed my mouth trying to come up with a good excuse. Tanya was still narrowing her eyes at me.

Oh, maybe I can say that he went out to buy groceries? Yeah right like he ever did that in his entire life. My thoughts reeled and I finally came up with an excuse. "Tanny if not jog then he might have had some work! You know how it is with us right? We do have a lot of things going on so he might have gone to attend that!" This time I spoke with confidence in my voice. Technically that was not a lie. She frowned but seemed to have bought the reason.

"Hmm, you might be right Di! But, why do I still feel that you're lying to me??" I opened my mouth to utter that first excuse that crossed my mind but her phone began ringing. Tanya frowned when she glanced at the called id but answered it.

"Hello, Bhai! Where are you?" Did veer call her? What? He was calling her from my washroom? This entire situation was too hysterical. I glanced at the washroom discreetly. There was not a single noise coming from it. Well, I'm not surprised! We have been trained to hide and do a lot of things discretely.

Tanya was frowning but humming once in a while, she even rolled her eyes while I raised my brows. "Fine! I was just concerned! That's all! It's not a big deal!" She stopped to listen to what Veer was telling her. "Okay, I'll go! You'll be here soon, right? And you didn't get hurt did you?"

Hurt? What did he tell her? I'll ask him once he comes out of the washroom. She sighed, muttering a bye, and cut the call. She looked really sad. I so badly wanted to tell her the truth but then again I can't. Veer and I need this time for ourselves.

"You were right Meera Di! He went out on some small mission! Well, then I'll go help Ira in the kitchen! Breakfast is ready you can come!" I smiled and nodded my head. I gave her a quick hug and told her that I would be joining her soon.

As soon as she exited the room I shut the door and bolted it. I leaned my body against the door and placed my hand on my chest. I sighed in relief. Veer peeped from the washroom and I laughed. "Is the coast clear?" I chuckled nodding my head.

"Aye aye Captian!" I gave him a small salute just to get the kick out of it. Veer rolled his eyes and walked out of the washroom. "Not bad for the first time, right?" Veer nodded his head but grimaced. "It wasn't that bad but how long do you think we can do this for? Our family isn't exactly that easy to handle. They are a nosey bunch!"

Veer had a point. I don't know for how long we can hide the fact that something is going on between us but I don't want them hovering over us, that would be way too overwhelming. "I don't know! But, we can't tell them yet! They would be all over us and the teasing would never stop!" I dragged the word stop, Veer chuckled and nodded his head.

"That is very true! I guess we'll tell them when the time is right? Sounds good?" He asked hesitantly. I smiled and walked towards him. He looked so perfect for someone who had just woken up. I kissed his cheek. "That sounds good! We um still have a lot of things to discuss and figure out between us. It is wise to not tell them until after we have everything sorted!"

Veer smiled at me and tucked a piece of my hair behind my ear. I could smell his intoxicating cologne and even some smoke. I have got to talk to him about not smoking so much. Initially, I assumed it was just a few cigarettes but he's been finishing almost two packs in a week. How do I know that? I'm a really good observer.

He was about to lean on for a kiss when I pushed his chest and shook my head. "I didn't even brush and what if someone comes again?" Veer pouted slightly but nodded his head. "Ugh, fine! I'm sure you taste amazing but I do agree with your second statement!"

I laughed nodding my head. "The real question is how am I supposed to get back to my room?" Oh god! How are we supposed to do that? Everyone is awake and if even a single person out there sees him sneaking out of my room we'll be in deep shit. Suddenly, an idea struck. I snapped my fingers and my eyes lit up. He looked at me with an amused expression.

"I'll help you sneak out! Your room is not far from here! I'll cover for you! If they ask when you entered the house and how did they not notice you then come up with an excuse! You seem to be good at that!" Veer laughed at my excited ranting and my heart fluttered. I still can't get over the fact that the adult Veer Gupta can be jovial. I have to admit it's very endearing.

"Fine by me Meera! As long as we don't get caught!" I rolled my eyes and pulled him towards the door. "I'm sure we won't get caught! Did you forget we're made for these kinds of things! Besides this is not some dangerous mission! We'll get through it after all we make a great team together!" I uttered the last part with a wink.

Veer shook his head and kissed my forehead. I unlocked the door and peeped outside. There was no one and I could hear some laughing and talking coming from the ground floor. I gestured with my hand asking Veer to come out.

"You can go, there's no one here! Everyone is either in the living room or the kitchen. So, you have nothing to worry about! I'll see you later!" I quickly kissed his cheek. He gave me one last smile and walked away to his room carrying all the gifts in his hands. I stood there until I was sure he was in his room. You can never be too sure especially when you have people like Tanya and Ira lurking around the house.

I sighed and closed the door when he shut the door of his room. I could see the door of his room from my room. I leaned my head against the door and couldn't stop myself from smiling. Veer had finally admitted what he had felt for me. I was Veer's first crush and to top it all we kissed. The only person I had ever kissed was Veer. Vishal tried to kiss me but I didn't allow him, I may or may not have kicked him in the balls and blamed it on me being clumsy.

I don't think he noticed because he was in way too much pain. But, that asshole had it coming. I'm so happy to have not introduced him to my parents. I shook my head trying not to remember that asshole. I grinned when I realized Veer and I were finally together. After seven years of pain and enduring whatnot.

I squealed and twirled around the room. Everything seemed more beautiful. The sunlight, my room in which Veer slept last night, and everything in general. My phone rang, it was my mom. We spoke for a few minutes. She wanted to know if everything was okay and especially wanted to know if Andy behaved himself.

I assured her that everything was fine and also that Andy had behaved himself. She was reluctant to believe but I stressed the fact that he's a grown-up now and has matured. That seemed to calm her down. Then my Dad pulled the phone away from her while she cursed at him in the background.

I laughed, no matter how old they grew their love always seemed to be intact. I wanted that, I hoped that would happen with Veer. My Dad and I spoke for a few minutes after which I bid them bye and cut the call. I'm sure that Naina Aunty would have called Veer as well.

I put my phone for charging and went to the washroom to take a quick shower. Once I was done I blow-dried my hair and let it down my shoulders. For some reason, I felt like getting dressed up today. I even put on some light makeup and some lip gloss, which I never do. I was wearing a cute red top that had puffy sleeves, it was a bit deep but not that bad. I paired the top with my signature black jeans.

Once I was satisfied with my look I checked my phone to see if there were any notifications but nothing was there so I pocketed it and left the room closing the door behind me. At the same moment, I saw Veer coming out of his room looking dashing as ever. He had shaved and his hair was wet. He was wearing a blue T-shirt that hugged his muscles perfectly and those black jeans made him look so appealing.

He caught me staring at him and heat spread down my cheeks and body. How can his mere glance have such an effect on me? He raked his eyes down my body and walked towards me like a predator. My heartbeat increased. I  rubbed my sweaty palms against my jeans.

My lips parted when he stopped right his front of me. His face only a few inches away from mine. His hot breath touched my face. He cupped my cheek with his right hand and muttered "Beautiful!" his husky voice did things to my body that I can't even comprehend.

"I-I t-think we should go. What if someone catches us?" I stuttered staring at his lips and Veer chuckled, he snaked his arms around my waist and pulled me closer. I gasped and my hands rested on his shoulders. "I checked, don't worry! They're engrossed in some movie! I just wanted to do this before we have to pretend we don't like each other!"

I laughed and moved my face closer. I ran my fingers through his short hair and tilted my head to gaze into his beautiful black eyes which were gleaming with happiness. My heart fluttered and I felt woozy when I realized I was the reason behind his happiness. I have never seen him like this in the past few years.

"That's a very good reason!" I whispered against his lips. Veer smiled leaning forward. I sighed contently when my lips met his. I felt a surge of electricity pass through my body. He licked my bottom lip and I opened my mouth. He tasted so good. Better than yesterday. Our tongues tangled and we moved our lips vigorously.

I moaned when he squeezed my waist pulling me closer. I fisted my fingers in his hair. I was the first one to pull away when I felt breathless. I panted against his lips and pecked it one last time. I breathed out and relaxed when I heard laughter coming from downstairs. That meant no one had seen us yet.

Veer kissed my lips one more time and moved his lips down my jaw. He placed a long kiss on my neck. I moaned and pulled him closer. This was getting out of hand. "Veer!" I moaned as he bit my neck, prepped kisses, and then sucked. "I um think that's enough. We're oh god pushing our luck!" Veer chuckled against my neck and pulled away.

"If you say so! I was only trying to make up for all the years that we lost! I want us to do more of this!" He whined like a child. I laughed shaking my head. I kissed his smooth cheek and inhaled his after-shave. It smelled amazing. "That's really sweet and we will do more of this but it's wise to go and join the others now!"

I don't even know if Veer was listening. He was busy staring down my cleavage. What a pervert! I laughed and tilted his chin so that he would look at my face. "You're such an ass! Can you stop looking down my chest? I'm being very serious right now!" Veer smirked winking at me. I tweaked his nose with my fingers.

"Ouch! Stop that!" He swatted my hand away. "I was listening! Let's go! I can't help it when someone this hot is standing in front of me!" My eyes winded and he laughed at my expression. I rolled my eyes and untangled myself from his embrace. Which wasn't easy but I did manage to get out.

"Shut up Veer!" He shrugged his shoulders giving me a cheeky grin and pecked my lips one last time before descending the stairs. I stayed back for a few more minutes and closed my eyes trying to catch my breath.

I grinned widely and shook my head at his silly antics. I definitely needed a cold shower. This make-out session was much more intense than the last one. I skipped down the stairs and peeped into the living room to find Veer being greeted by everyone. Thankfully no one asked him any questions. They were all engrossed in the movie.

I decided to get myself some breakfast or more like brunch before greeting everyone. I loaded my plate with some omelet and brown bread. Then served some salad. With the plate in hand, I walked towards the living room and everyone greeted me. I shouted "Good morning!" with a huge grin on my face and sat down next to Sheena. They waved their hands dismissing me away. I rolled my eyes and began eating.

She raised her brows and gave me a suspicious look. "Well well, what do we have here?! A chirpy Meera? That's shocking!" I rolled my eyes and ate the salad. Everyone was busy watching a horror movie. I briefly glanced at Veer who was watching the movie and eating breakfast.

"What do you mean? I'm always happy!" I told her casually and took a bite of my omelet and cheese. Sheena frowned, I had to play it cool else Sheena might figure it out. She was way too observant. "Nah uh! Not this much! What happened last night? Did something happen between you and Veer?" She clapped her hands together excited about the prospect.

Oh god! She was so right! I gave her a stern look, swallowed my food, and shook my head. "No! Nothing happened! Jeez, can you stop reading into everything! I'm just trying to make the most out of things. So, yeah that's about it!"

She didn't look convinced at all. Instead, she rested patted her chin with her fingers, and narrowed her eyes at me. I decided to ignore her and concentrate on my food. I finished eating, washed the plate, and kept it in its place.

Veer had finished eating a few minutes and had washed his plate just like I had. I went to the living room and once again sat down beside Sheena. The movie was amazing and I was engrossed throughout it. Somewhere in between my phone buzzed.

I frowned and removed the phone from my pocket. It was a text from Veer. I glanced at him to see that he was watching the movie while fiddling with his phone in his hands. The message read, "You look really beautiful!" I almost giggled but suppressed.

Sheena frowned and ask me what it was. "Uhh nothing, just a joke! You watch the movie!" I scooted a bit away from her and decided to text him back. The whole hiding it from people had a unique thrill to it. "Are you insinuating that I wasn't beautiful before?" I smirked hitting the send button.

I glanced at Veer who looked at his phone discreetly and rolled his eyes. He typed away and gave me a bored look. "Can't you just take the compliment without jabbing at me! Fine! You were always beautiful but today you look more beautiful! Red suits you!"

Veer and sweet were not to be mixed but something had definitely changed and I for one am happy. Heat crept through my face once I read his text. I smiled softly and texted back. "Fine! Thank you! You are very good-looking!" I coughed to hide my laugh and sent the text. I love teasing him.

I glanced at Veer who rolled his eyes with a small smile on his face. My phone buzzed and I read the text. "Why can't you admit that I'm hot? It's very simple just three letters H-O-T!" I grinned and glanced at him to see that he was smirking at me.

"Whatever! This is all you get for now! Stop texting me! Sheena is looking at me like I've gone crazy!" I sent it to him and focused back on the movie. My phone buzzed again and I saw that Veer was now watching the movie with a small smile on his face.

"I make you smile Miss Raichand! I'll take that as a compliment! Later you later pretty ;)"  I nodded my head discreetly and gave him a huge smile. "Bhai! Has heaven fallen? Are you really smiling? What's so funny? I would love to know!" Ira screeched and everyone turned their heads to look at Veer.

"Dude! Really? Are you okay? This is a horror movie, not a comedy one!" Veer rolled his eyes. "Uh, I read a joke! Just watch the movie people!" Everyone laughed and went back to watching the movie. He glared at me and I gave him a sweet smile.

For the next hour, we watched the movie. Then we cooked something and had food together at the huge dining table. "I thought you guys were leaving in the morning?" I ate a spoonful of rice and glanced at Sheena.

She shrugged her shoulders and smiled at me. "It's the weekend anyway so we thought we could stay back and hang out! I'm really enjoying myself! I'm glad we stayed back!" I smiled at her and nodded my head. We finished eating lunch. We had some dessert and by then it was already evening.

Veer suggested that we go out and play instead of sitting here for long hours. Everyone except Ankit and Andy agreed. I gave them one angry look and they groaned getting off the couch. "Di, you're awesome! How do you control them?" Tanya asked me with a giggle.

I shrugged my shoulders and laughed. "I guess I just have the powers! Besides both of them know if I tell my mom and Ankit's mom they'll be grounded for days!" Tanya giggled and nodded her head.

Everyone changed into something comfortable. We played some badminton and then some volleyball. I excused myself when my phone pinged. I checked the mail and let out a huge sigh. They were my deployment orders. I had gotten official orders to report to a base in Punjab.

This email disappears once we open the mail and read it. They are highly secure and hard to decipher. I had to leave in another two weeks. It's not unexpected but I don't know I just feel a bit sad. Something finally started between Veer and me, now we already had a challenge ahead of us. We were going to be separated once again. But, our country comes first and I'll endure anything for it.

I decided to sit for the rest of the time. Veer glanced at me curiously and I avoided his gaze. A few hours passed, we had dinner after which Sheena and Karan left. Everyone retreated to their rooms. I sat on the porch and waited for Veer, he would come soon.

Every time I caught him alone someone would come and interrupt us. We had to pretend to do something else. I sighed when I saw Veer sitting beside me. "What's up?" I gave him a small smile. "I received my official orders Veer. My deployment starts in another two weeks."

Veer's face turned blank. I'm not surprised. None of us spoke for the next few minutes. There was stark silence. A few more minutes later Veer entwined my hands with his. He gave me an apprehensive smile but it was nevertheless a smile. My heart fluttered.

"It's okay Meera! We'll get through this, I promise! This was going to come sooner or later. Don't worry about it! I um think I may receive my orders soon! That's got to be a positive right?"

He had really changed. I wanted to ask him about that mission but I knew that would do nothing but anger him. When the time comes I'm sure I'll get to know. "That's actually good! That way we both might get leave at the same time!" Veer nodded his head and smiled at me.

He leaned forward and kissed my forehead. "Meera please stay safe! I'm really proud of you! Don't do anything stupid! Think before you act!" My stomach filled with butterflies. I smiled at him and gave him a small smile. I placed a long kiss on his lips.

Veer held my face and sucked on my lips. This was a very sweet kiss and held so many untold promises. I pulled away a brushed my fingers over his face. "You too Veer! Please stay safe!" Veer brushed my cheek with his thumb and nodded his head against my forehead.

"Don't worry! We're in this together Meera!" A few tears fell from my eyes because of the intensity his gaze held. Veer shook his head wiped the tears away. "Meera no! Don't cry! I have a good feeling about this. It'll be fine!" I nodded my head and leaned my head against his shoulder.

He pulled me closer and tightened his arms around me. I hope he's right. I really hope everything will be fine. With both our careers I have no idea how we're going to navigate through our relationship but I believe that Veer and I can manage. I prayed to God hoping that everything will be fine.
