Here We Go
Only two hours had passed since the first letter arrived when three more letters fell from the sky. Each one fluttered in the slight breeze, but never went too far before touching the ground. Vikk could only stare at the letters as Lachlan knelt down to pick one up to start with. The blank side had The Infinite written on it as the address while being addressed to the both of them by name.
Lachlan: *looking at Vikk* Should I open it?
Vikk: I suppose, there seems to be no trouble in answering questions.
Lachlan: *sighs* If any of these are too personal I swear I'm going to burn them all. *slides finger through the opening and pulls out a short card*
If Vikk has 17 apples, and Lachlan has 7, what is the circumference of the sun? No looking it up.
~TBNRFish24
Lachlan: *throws the card on the ground* How are we supposed to do that?! And it's not like I can fly up there, because I don't know how to fly and I'm pretty sure I'm not a type of dragon who can survive in space.
Vikk: Lachy... I think it's supposed to be a joke, but either way the answer is 4,366,813 kilometers.
Lachlan: *jaw drops* How did you know that?
Vikk: *pokes the ground with his foot* I took an astronomy course for a couple of months, and we had to memorize all the measurements of the sun.
Lachlan: Oh wow, that's pretty cool. Well at least that's taken care of now. *begins to reach down for another letter but Vikk stops him*
Vikk: *is holding Lachlan's arm* Hold on, you haven't flown yet?
Lachlan: *stands back up* No, but I wish I have and can't wait to do so.
Vikk: How is that I'm terrified of heights, yet I've flown more times then you?
Lachlan: Honestly I don't know, maybe I've been busy in jail so I haven't gotten around to it.
Vikk: ...
Lachlan: ... Next question! *grabs another envelope this one is addressed to him*
Vikk: Did you do that on purpose?
Lachlan: *shaking his head* No they were all facing down. *opens to letter after discarding the first one*
Hey Lachlan- was part of the reason you were able to so easily accept the dragon hatchlings as your own- aside from your conscience- your dragon side? If so, was it a draconic parental instinct, or draconic greed?
~ShadeFinder
Lachlan: Ah, now this one is interesting. I don't think I would have needed to become a dragon myself in order to accept the hatchlings, but I do think it played a small part in it.
Vikk: *tilts his head* How so?
Lachlan: If I was still human, I would have just left it at friends for relationships with the three of them, thinking that the rightful parents would come back for them. But after I saw them, which is while I was a dragon, I did have this parental feeling that I had to step up and take on the role of their caregiver.
Vikk: Awe, that's so sw-
Lachlan: *slight visible signs of anger* Now about the draconic greed, I strongly disagree with that part. First of all, what part of wanting to care for children is a sign of greed? Second, I don't believe that dragons are all full of greed, but instead are protecting what is probably rightfully theirs. I know there's the stories of dragons burning down villages for no reason and that's like, okay there's most likely a few bad examples out there. But then you have the stories of a knight raiding a dragon's nest and then the village people question why they're having their treasure stolen by the same dragon that the knight raided from, maybe it's because he just wants his stuff back that you probably fought him for! *calms down after his rant* That felt good. I'm better now.
Vikk: That was surprising coming from you.
Lachlan: *shrugs* Meh, it just happens when there's something I feel strongly about.
Vikk: Okay last one! *picks up the last envelope and sees it's addressed to Lachlan* Again? I don't get any real questions?
Lachlan: If it helps, you can read it to me.
Does Lachlan's brother have anything strange about him? Lachlan and his dad are both mythical creatures..... what about his mom?
~CatOppp
Lachlan: I have to start with- my dad isn't a mythical creature, how could he be while making fun of me for it at the same time?
Vikk: I haven't seen any evidence suggesting that either.
Lachlan: Anyways, the rest of my family is pretty normal, mum probably cares about people too much, Mitchell is most likely the most normal one. Although you did forget to mention Jackie, she's got this black streak in her hair that's completely natural, it just grows that way while the rest of her is a light brunette. Is there anything "strange" about your family Vikk?
Vikk: *turns away rubbing his arm* I don't really have anything to say on this subject. I don't have any siblings and my parents aren't involved enough with my life to know anything about them.
Lachlan: *reaches out to Vikk* Hey, I'm sorry. That's sounds pretty rough.
Vikk: *shrugs* It's no big deal, that's why I go to boarding school.... Anyways, that's all of them, right?
Lachlan: *nods* For now at least. You know, that was kinda fun. I wouldn't mind doing this more, let's hope you get some questions next to.
Hello there everyone! I hope all of your questions have been answered to a satisfactory level, and that you learned more about these two as characters. This was written between chapter fourteen and fifteen, so you know when asking your questions for next time.
Bye!
