"You guys better not figure out without me," Mingus said as we all rode to school together. Today was the day for our appointment. We were dropping Mingus off at school and then we were heading to see the doctor for our first check up since we found out I was pregnant.

I ruffled Mingus's hair. "Don't worry, bud. We wouldn't dare do that," I said while pulling him into a side hug before releasing him and letting Norman hug him. Mingus ran off towards the front entrance of his school before Norman and I got back in the car to head to the appointment.

It was quiet between us as we rode to the doctor's office. Norman's arm was around my waist with his hand resting lightly on my stomach. The divider was up between us and the driver so we could have some privacy. Norman leaned his head on top of mine.

He kissed my forehead lightly and I could feel the smile that he had. "I love you," he whispered into my hair. I smiled slightly before raising up to kiss him lightly. The car pulled to a slow stop and I pulled back giving Norman a small smile which he returned.

We walked in hand in hand into the doctor's office. We signed in and sat down in the corner. We were the only ones in there. Norman was shaking his leg nervously. I placed my hand on his knee lightly and he looked over at me behind his sunglasses.

I slid them off his face to reveal his blue eyes. "You can get these back later," I said while tucking them into my pocket. Norman smirked at me before kissing my forehead. "Amanda," a nurse called my name. I let out a breath before standing up slowly.

Norman had a grip on my hand as we followed her back to a small room. "Just have a seat on the bed and the doctor will be in shortly," she said. I hopped up on the table and sighed. Norman pulled the chair closer to the bed and laid his hand on the bed palm up.

I was slightly nervous. What if something was wrong with the baby even though I wasn't that far along? I placed my hand in Norman's and he squeezed it as if he understood what I was thinking completely. There was a light knock on the door and the doctor walked in.

"Hi, I'm Dr. James," I shook her hand. "I'm Amanda and this is my boyfriend Norman," I said. Norman shook her hand before returning it to mine. "Dr. Smith has told me a lot about your case. Are you nervous at all?" she asked me. I instantly nodded.

"Just a bit. I just don't want anything to go wrong. This is my first child," I said. Dr. James nodded before pulling out the ultrasound machine. "Roll up your shirt for me," she said. I let go of Norman's hand and rolled up my shirt. I looked down at my stomach.

I didn't even look like I was pregnant. I didn't even know how far along I was. My hand found Norman's again and he squeezed it gently as Dr. James squirted gel on my stomach. Norman leaned forward and kissed my cheek letting his lips linger for a second before pulling back.

When Norman and I looked at the screen our eyes lit up seeing the tiny baby. If you didn't know what you were looking for you would definitely miss it. Norman squeezed my hand a little tighter this time and ran his thumb across my knuckles lightly.

"There's the head, and the body. You're about three months along so in a month we should be able to start seeing all the features of the baby, but we can tell the sex right now and then we'll confirm it in a couple weeks. Would you like to know?" she asked.

I looked over at Norman who gave me a small smile before I looked back at the doctor. "Actually we were wondering if you could do something for us," I said. Dr. James started printing off copies of the sonogram. "And what's that?" she asked while turning to look at us.

Norman grabbed the bags from the floor and set them at my feet on the bed. "We were actually hoping to make this like a family Christmas present and our son is in school right now. He made us promise that we wouldn't figure out what the gender was without him."

Dr. James gave me a slight confused look but nodded. "Okay, where do I come in?" she asked. I smiled a little and gestured towards the bags. "In each bag there is a banner that says "it's a boy" or "it's a girl" so we were wondering if you could get the sex of the baby and then when we come in for our next appointment a week before Christmas and we were hoping that you could put the banner up in a room and we would walk in and see it."

We watched Dr. James think for a second before her face broke out into a huge smile. "Are you serious? I would be honored. No one has ever asked me to do that before!" she said. I felt the smile on my face as Norman leaned up and kissed me on the lips.

"Alright so we'll schedule your next appointment for a week before Christmas," she said while patting my knee gently. She gave me a towel and I cleaned off my stomach before pulling my shirt back down. Dr. James grabbed the bags and Norman helped me off the bed.

Norman and I walked down the small hallway. Dr. James smiled at us before slipping into her office and moving onto her next appointment. Norman and I scheduled our next appointment before we headed back into the cold to catch a cab.

The driver from the car company had moved on but we knew he would be back to get us so we could go get Mingus from school. I lifted Norman's wrist to look at the watch I had gotten him for Valentine's Day. It was only 10:30 and we would be home by 11.

I tried to stifle a yawn as Norman wrapped his arm around me while we rode in the cab home. "Tired?" Norman questioned. I sighed a little while resting my head on his shoulder. "Just a little bit," I said snuggling into his warm side more while he rubbed his hand up and down my arm.

"Well, when we get home you can take a nap," he said. I wrapped my arms around him. "Only if you take one with me," I said. Norman chuckled and kissed my forehead before resting his head on top of mine. "I can do that, babe," he said softly.

When we arrived home I changed into something more comfortable before falling into bed. Norman was right behind me. He set his alarm clock to make sure we were up to go get Mingus from school on time before he fell into the bed beside me.

His arms snaked around my waist while I rested my head on his chest and my hand over his heart. "What's on your mind, sweetheart?" he asked. It's like he knew that something was bothering me. I sighed and sat up a little so I was able to look at him better.

"What if something's wrong with the baby?" I asked him. Norman sighed a little and tightened his arms around me. "We'll be alright, love," he looked unsure of his answer. He pushed a piece of hair out of my face, and let his hand linger there for a few seconds.

"Have I told you lately how beautiful you are, girl?" I blushed instinctively. He inched closer until our noses touched and his lips brushed mine. "You are, love," his lips found mine in a sweet, tender kiss. "so damn beautiful, he muttered before he stole another quick kiss.

"I love you," he whispered. I smirked a little. "Ya do, huh?" Norman nodded a little. "I guess I kinda like you too," I said. Norman chuckled before pushing me slightly and rolling us over until he was on top of me, with our lower halves pressed together.

His hands found mine and he intertwined our fingers while pushing our hands above my head. He pressed his lips to mine again. He pulled back letting his lips linger over top of mine. I pushed on him lightly and he rolled off of me. His arms wrapped back around me and I felt my eyes closing.

*Norman's POV*

I found myself not sleeping. I knew I couldn't move though because Mandy's head was lying on top of my chest. I pulled her into me more. She was fast asleep and her hands were on her stomach. I smiled a little and propped myself up on my elbow slightly.

I gently moved her hand over so as not to disturb her, before I rubbed her stomach gently. "Hey, little one, I'm your daddy," I whispered softly. I could feel the tears pricking in my eyes at the thought that my child was in there. It amazed me even with Mingus.

"And ya don't know me yet, but I love ya millions," I whispered. Although the baby didn't kick, I knew the baby was aware of who Mandy and me were. I kissed her stomach. "I love ya two so fucking much," I said honestly as I held Mandy tightly to me.

*Mandy's POV*

I stirred slightly when I heard Norman's voice and opened my eyes to find him. "Hey there, babe," he said while kissing me softly while my fingers got tangled in his thick dark brown hair as he pulled me into him. "What time is it?" I asked him softly.

Norman grabbed his phone to look at the time. "A little after one," he said while tucking his phone in his pocket. I sat up and Norman pulled back a little. "Want some lunch?" Norman asked. I nodded a little and got off the bed while pulling Norman with me.

"Ya feel better after taking a nap?" Norman asked as he started on lunch. I rested my cheek against my fist and nodded a little. "Yeah, I feel like I have a little more energy," I said. Norman kissed my forehead before turning his attention back to lunch.
