Ah, Christmas morning. It was always one of those mornings that you were happy to get up no matter how early it was. This year I was extremely happy for Christmas though because I got to spend it with my two favorite people Norman and Mingus.

I opened my eyes and I was instantly met by blue ones. "Morning," Norman's raspy voice mumbled. I smiled up at him. "Morning to you too," I said. Norman pulled away from me. "Mingus will be up soon," he said. My smile grew a little bit.

"You mean he's not up yet?" I asked. Norman shook his head. "Well I'm going to wake him," I said while throwing the covers back. "Wait," I heard Norman say. I turned around to see him now sitting on the edge of the bed. I cocked an eyebrow at him and he held a hand out to me.

I took it and he pulled me into him. "Merry Christmas, baby," he whispered before connecting his lips to mine. I sighed and ran my hand through his hair before he pulled back. "Merry Christmas to you too," I said stepping back from him to head into Mingus's room.

I slowly opened the door being grateful that it didn't creak. Mingus was lying on his stomach with his head facing the wall. I grabbed one of his pillows that had fallen on the floor. I crawled up on his bed hoping that I didn't wake him. I lifted the pillow above my head.

"Mingus!" I accented his name with a smack of the pillow. He groaned a little. "Come on! Get up! Get up! Get up!" I continued smacking him with the pillow until he turned around to glare at me. "It's Christmas!" I sang in a terrible voice while throwing the pillow down on him.

"You better run," Mingus mumbled behind the pillow. I squealed and quickly jumped down from his bed making a run for the living room. I could hear Mingus's feet padding behind me. "Save me," I said while pulling Norman in front of me.

I clutched the back of Norman's shirt a little as I peeked around to look at Mingus. He glared at me again. "Children please," Norman said teasingly. I flopped back on the couch and Mingus came over and sat beside me. He laid his head on my shoulder and sighed.

"It's Christmas, how are you possibly tired?" I asked him. He shrugged a little and snuggled into my side more. Norman came back from the kitchen and sat two cups of coffee in front of Mingus and I. Mingus instantly reached for his and took a long drink.

"Just like your father," I mumbled while picking up my cup. Mingus shot me a slight smile. Norman came back in with a cup of coffee in his hand and sat beside me. We sat in silence as we drank our coffee. I could see the snow falling heavily outside.

Mingus sat his cup down with a small thud and then smiled at us. "Presents," he said. Norman and I chuckled before nodding towards the small Christmas tree and Mingus instantly went to sit in front of it. Norman's arm wrapped around me as Mingus started separating presents.

He soon had them stacked in piles for Norman, himself, and me. Norman and I decided to join him on the floor. We all sat in a slight circle. Mingus opened his presents first. He had opened presents from his mom yesterday so he only had presents from Norman and I today.

Clothes, CDs from me, a skateboard from Jordan, and new Raybans and video games from Norman. When it was Norman's turn Mingus had a big smile on his face. I knew what he had gotten Norman for Christmas and I knew Norman would like them.

Norman's face instantly broke out into a smile when he opened a box with all the 45s in it. [For anybody that doesn't know 45s are records :P] "I definitely have the coolest kid ever," Norman said while leaning over to kiss Mingus on the forehead.

I chuckled a little and gave Mingus a high five. We had been in the record store for well over five hours picking out different 45s when Norman was gone to a convention one weekend. Mingus had a big smile on his face as he scrunched his nose a little after Norman kissed his forehead.

"Your turn, Mandy!" Mingus said. I looked over at Norman who had a sly smile on his face. "Something better not pop out at me," I said while starting to open one of the presents from Mingus. "Now why would I do something like that?" I heard Mingus ask.

I looked up and gave him a pointed look. "Do I need to remind you who your father is?" I asked rhetorically. Mingus stuck his tongue out at me. I pulled off the rest of the wrapping paper to reveal a small box. I shook it slightly and looked at Mingus curiously.

"Are you sure something's not going to pop out?" I asked him. Mingus rolled his eyes slightly. "Just open it," he said. I chuckled a little before looking down at the small box that was in my hands. I gasped when I opened it. I looked up at Mingus who was smiling wider.

"What is this for?" I asked looking at the small ballet slipper charm. Mingus looked over at Norman who pulled something out of his pocket. "Here," Norman said while holding it out to me. I opened the box he had given me and I felt myself gasp again.

Inside was a charm bracelet that already had a small 'M' and a small 'N' attached to it. I felt myself smiling through the slight tears that were welling in my eyes. I quickly clipped the small ballet slipped charm to it before pulling Mingus into me tightly.

"Thanks buddy," I said while kissing his forehead. I turned to Norman and wrapped my arms around him squeezing him a little. "Is this what you bought a few months ago and paid Mingus not to tell me?" I asked him after I pulled back. Mingus chuckled.

"Yeah," Norman said running his hand up and down my back. "You guys are sneaky," I said standing up and walking over to my bag that was hanging on the hook by the front door. "I was gonna wait to give this to you later," I said while pulling out a small envelope.

"Here," I said while handing the envelope to Norman. He opened it and a ton of tiny pieces of paper fell out. Norman looked up at me and gave me a 'what the hell?' look. I shrugged. "Guess you'll have to solve the little riddle to find it," I said while going to sit on the couch.

Mingus stared picking up the small pieces of paper and placing them on the coffee table. I sat on the couch and watched as Norman and Mingus went to work on the little puzzle. The little riddles weren't that difficult to figure out. They were quite simple. Some consisted of:

I am what Mingus lays his head on at night. Mingus's pillow.

I have an annoying sound and I wake you up at a certain time. Norman's alarm clock.

I am what Eye in The Dark sleeps on. Eye's cat bed.

I am where we eat our meals together. The kitchen table.

It sent them through a chase through Norman's apartment and eventually landed them back in front of the Christmas tree trying to find the last envelope which was buried in the tree somewhere. I smiled as I watched Mingus and Norman stand up and head down the hallway.

I stood up and followed after them. Mingus reached inside his pillow and pulled out the next envelope. They set to work on the next riddle. It didn't take them as long and they headed towards the bathroom. Under the towels. The next one lead them to Norman's alarm clock.

Under the couch, on the table, in the refrigerator, and to Eye's cat bed. "One more envelope," Mingus read out loud as he grabbed the envelope from Eye's cat bed. I knew the riddle said 'pst. I'm in the tree!' Mingus padded over to the tree and started looking through it.

There were two envelopes in the tree. One was addressed to Norman; the other was addressed to both Norman and Mingus. Mingus whooped when he finally found the two envelopes and pulled them out of the tree. Mingus sat down on the floor and handed Norman his.

Norman popped the tab [A:N/ I'm gonna pop some tags....I had too!!!] on his envelope and pulled out the letter I wrote him. I peered over his shoulder and read the letter again:

Babe,

So I wasn't exactly sure what to get you because you are so damn picky about the things you wear, the things you listen too etc. etc. I never thought shopping for a man would be so difficult! So wanna know what I got you? Drumroll please..................ME!!! Isn't it just the best Christmas gift ever!! You already had me and now you get to have me some more!! Aren't you just so darn lucky? I thought so!

.........

Okay, I'm totally just messing with you. I got you more than just me for Christmas! ;) Annoyed with me yet? Okay, so ready for your real present? In all seriousness, I really didn't know what to get you, but I tried to think of something good! I hope you like it!

xx

Mandy

Norman pulled the rest of the contents out of the envelope and flipped through them. He turned to me with a bright smile on his face. "You didn't," he said. I chuckled, "Oh but I did!" I said while pushing the present in his face more. Norman grinned like a kid in a candy store.

"Tickets to see Metallica, holy shit," I chuckled at his choice of words. I looked over at Mingus whose eyes were wide. "What is it, Boom?" Norman asked. Mingus held up the small gift card. "It's for us. It's a $200 gift card to the video game store," he said.

I felt myself grinning as Norman turned back to me. He cocked an eyebrow. "What? You're boys, you like video games and they're expensive," I said. Norman chuckled slightly before pulling me into a tight hug. I sighed and wrapped my arms around him.

I felt a tiny arm wrap around my waist and I moved one of my arms from around Norman and wrapped it around Mingus's shoulders. "Best Christmas ever," Mingus said and I couldn't help but smile. I looked up at Norman who was smiling.

"Best Christmas ever?" I asked him. Norman squeezed me a little before nodding. He bent down and kissed Mingus's head before looking back at me. I noticed that his eyes were sparkling meaning he was happy. "Yeah, definitely best Christmas ever," he said before connecting his lips with mine.
