Chapter 20
Thank you so much for the 13 comments on the last chapter!!!! Y'all are sooooo freaking awesome!!
In the next couple of chapters there's gonna be a little bit of a jump. This chapter is going to jump to Norman leaving to Georgia for TWD filming. I didn't want to go through the months without Norman really being around cause that would be boring to read and write! And we're going to say Mandy and Norman discussed him leaving. I didn't feel like writing that out! Which it falls into the right place because it's around the end of April beginning of May time! This chapter will be normal but the chapter 21 will be a 3 month jump! I know you guys don't want to go three months of stuff without Norman :P
This chapter is dedicated to @SynysterHarlot because she said she would comment and @randompersonH20 because she just started this story today and she's caught up!!

I was currently sitting on Norman's bed watching him pack. Eye was lying beside me purring while sleeping. "I can't believe you're leaving me," I groaned while flopping back on the bed. Norman chuckled while continuing to pack. Shirt, pants, more shirts, hoodie, extra Raybans.
Norman stopped packing and leaned over top of me. "I can't believe you're not coming with me," he mumbled against my lips before connecting them together for a short kiss. I sighed when he pulled back and touched my lips which were now tingling.
He bit his lip before pulling back fully and continuing his packing. "Well if I didn't have my brother and his damn bar to worry about I would pack my bags, but I don't want to lose my job," I said. Norman snorted and I cocked an eyebrow at him slightly confused.
"When was the last time you went to work?" he asked me. Honestly I had to think. It had been awhile. "Exactly," Norman said. I rolled my eyes. "Well, if I didn't have someone distracting me," I said the tone in my voice teasing. Norman glared down at me.
"That goes both ways, woman," I chuckled and grabbed his hand and pulled him towards me. He collapsed on top of me and supported his weight with his elbows. I grabbed his shirt and pulled him flush against me. He sighed a little before bending down to kiss me.
"I'm gonna miss this," Norman mumbled in between kisses. I moaned a little in agreement before running one of my hands through his hair. "At least we have one more night together," I said once Norman pulled back. He nodded slightly but I could still see the slight sadness in his eyes.
"When is Mingus coming back over?" I asked knowing that he was going to be with us for the night to spend the last minutes with his dad. "He should be here soon," he said. I nodded a little and pushed him off me while sitting up and propping myself up on my elbows.
"Are you almost done packing?" I asked. Norman nodded again and dropped his bags on the ground along with Eye's carrying cage. I frowned seeing that he only had one bag and a backpack and he would be staying for almost three months. Norman noticed my frown.
"What" he asked. I shook my head lightly. "Just doesn't seem like a lot of clothing for how long you're staying," I said. Norman chuckled. "I'm picky when it comes to clothing and I buy underwear and socks down there and then throw them away when I come back."
I felt myself rolling my eyes. "Such a typical guy," I said. Norman cracked a smile. "Creature of habit," he said. I rolled my eyes again. "So what are we going to do tonight?" I asked. Norman shrugged. "I just figured we'd stay here and hang. I really just want it to be us tonight. I love my fans but I don't want any interruptions tonight. I'll be away from you guys for about three months."
I felt myself frowning again. "Don't frown, babe," he said. He took his index fingers and pushed up the corners which made me chuckle. "I just don't want you to go," I whispered. Norman placed a hand on the back of my neck and pulled me towards him.
"I would be lying if I told you that I didn't want to go because I do. I love my job. But I will miss you two terribly," I sighed a little and buried my head in his chest while wrapping my arms loosely around his waist. He rubbed my back and kissed the top of the head.
There was a knock on the door and I groaned. I knew it was Mingus but come on kid way to ruin a moment! Norman and I pulled apart and he went to get the door with me following behind him. When Norman opened the door Mingus quickly walked right past us and a couple of seconds later we heard his bedroom door slam.
Norman and I both followed him with our gazes and then looked at each other confused. We both turned our attention to Helena who was standing in the doorway with a guilty yet astonished look on her face. Norman crossed his arms and kept his eyes on her.
"What was that about?" Norman asked her and I could hear the slight edge in his voice. I placed my hand lightly on his back hoping that another feud wasn't about to break out especially with me in the room. Helena placed her hands on her way too skinny hips and glared at Norman.
"He's mad at me for a stupid reason," she said. I fought the urge to roll my eyes. God only knows what she was talking about. "And what reason is that?" Norman asked shifting his weight. He didn't even seem bothered that I was standing in the room with them right now.
Now Helena crossed her arms and huffed. "I told him as long as you were gone he was staying with me. He asked if he could spend time with her and I told him no," Helena was now glaring at me. I knew she was talking about me when she said 'her.'
I felt myself wanting to shrink back away from her glare but another part of me wanted to stand tall and show her I'm not afraid. "You're kidding me, right?" I heard Norman asking pulling me from my thoughts. Helena shook her head and Norman rolled his eyes.
"I just don't think he should spend time with her without one of us around," Helena said. I heard a slight growl come from the back of Norman's throat. "Her name is Mandy and she's standing right in front of you," I heard my voice speaking up and I was a little shocked.
Mandy," Norman said trying to stop me but I held my hand up. "No, let me talk," I said. I turned my attention back to Helena. "I don't know what your problem is with me besides the fact that I'm dating your ex and I spend time with your son but this has got to stop."
I watched as her face scrunched in confusion. "I haven't done anything to you and I'm sick of you giving me shit over nothing. I see the looks you give me when you think Mingus isn't paying attention and I don't appreciate it. You're not going to scare me off like the rest of Norman's girlfriends."
"Mandy," Norman said again while placing his hand on my arm but I shrugged him off slightly. "No, she's gonna hear what I have to say," I turned my attention back to Helena once again. "I know you're his mother and you're looking out for him but I'm not gonna replace you nor am I gonna try. You're his mother and I respect that completely."
I watched as her face softened slightly. "But you need to respect me and understand that I am in Norman and Mingus's life and as long as they'll both have me I'm not going anywhere any time soon. I would never hurt Mingus and I would never try to get in the way of your guys' parenting," by the end of my little rant I felt Norman's arm slip around my waist and squeeze me slightly.
I took a deep breath and looked at Helena trying to read her face. Her face softened completely and I watched a small smile form. "I can respect that," she said softly. I felt a small smile break across my face. Norman squeezed me again and I could tell he was definitely happy.
"I guess I'll see you later Mandy. Have a nice trip Norman," and with that she left. I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding and I felt myself slumping against the wall behind me. "You okay?" I heard Norman ask. I pinched the bridge of my nose but nodded.
"Yeah, I think well at least I hope her and I have a mutual understanding," I said. Norman closed the distance between us and his hands found my hips. "Have I mentioned you're perfect?" he asked. I felt myself chuckling. "I'm far from it," I said.
Norman chuckled himself. "And so modest," I felt my face getting hotter and hotter. "Okay enough with the compliments," I mumbled while trying to hide my face. Norman chuckled and kissed my forehead. "Let's go check on the kid," I said while pushing myself from the wall and heading towards Mingus's room.
Mingus was lying on his bed, head on his pillow, facing the wall. I sighed and knocked lightly. Mingus turned around and gave me a small smile. I could see the slight tear stains on his cheek. I sighed again and sat down on his bed while Norman sat on the other side of him.
"You can spend time with Mandy while I'm gone. We are completely fine with it," Norman said. Mingus shrugged a little. "What about mom?" he asked quietly. Norman wrapped an arm around him. "Don't you worry about your mother she is okay with it," he said.
I watched as a smile formed on Mingus's face. "Awesome!" he exclaimed and I felt myself smiling along with him. Norman stood up and offered a hand to both of us. "Let's go watch a movie and order some take out," Norman said while pulling us towards the living room.
~~
I groaned as I heard Norman's alarm clock going off early the next morning. We had watched a movie and when I looked up at the end Norman had slight tears in his eyes. That night when we went to bed he told me that even though he was excited to go back to work he hated leaving Mingus and I behind, that it broke his heart.
I felt Norman shift and then the alarm clock became silent. I wrapped my arms around his waist tighter and he gripped me a little tighter in return. I knew he was awake. "Don't leave me," I whispered. One of Norman's hands reached up and ran through my hair.
"I'll be back soon and besides I'll get to see you in Georgia when you go to visit your parents," I sat up a little and looked at him. "How did you know about that?" I asked him. He cracked a sleepy smile. "I heard you talking on the phone to your mom the other day."
I sighed. "That was supposed to be a surprise," I groaned. Norman chuckled. "I'll act surprised when you show up," I felt myself grinning. "You better," I said while leaning down to kiss him lightly. Norman's hand pressed on the back of my neck holding me there longer.
"I'm gonna miss doing that every day," he said once he pulled back. I groaned and pulled myself away from him. "Alright get up before I handcuff you to the bed," I felt my face turning hot as I turned around and I heard Norman chuckling huskily. I turned around to see an amused look on his face.
"Kinky," he said. I rolled my eyes and got out of bed trying to get away from him. I quickly ran to the bathroom. I fixed my hair and brushed my teeth before walking back out. Mingus was sitting up in his bed with his hair sticking up in every direction when I walked by his room.
He gave me a slight wave while rubbing his eye making him look like he was seven years old. I found Norman's bags by the front door and he was sitting in the on the couch drinking a cup of coffee. I sighed and leaned again the wall just watching him.
He looked up and gave me a slight smile when Mingus padded into the room. He walked to the kitchen and walked out not even a minute later with a cup of coffee in his hand. He went and sat by Norman. They were both clad in plaid pajama pants and gray shirts.
Norman finished his coffee and went to quickly get dressed. We weren't going to airport with him because he was afraid the paparazzi would be nuts. He tried to keep his private life private and I respected that. Norman threw his bags over his shoulders and placed Eye in his carrier.
Norman pulled Mingus into him and held onto him tight for a few minutes before pulling back and kissing him on the top of the head. "Try not to burn the place down. Take care of Mandy she'll need it," I rolled my eyes and Norman eyed me with a smile.
"Love you son," Mingus smiled and gave his dad another quick hug. Norman stepped away and came over to me. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me close. "I'm gonna miss you so much," Norman whispered. I felt myself shivering from his breath against my skin.
I squeezed him tighter. "Yeah, I'm gonna miss you too," I whispered back. Norman pulled back and brought his lips to mine. Our kiss was slow and sweet and I practically melted in his arms. He pulled back and rested his forehead against mine.
"See ya soon, babe," he said while releasing me. I felt myself wishing we could fast forward to three months from now. Norman opened the door and gave us one last look before starting down the hall. Mingus and I popped out to watch Norman wait for the elevator.
I pulled Mingus into me as I watched Norman enter the elevator. He popped his head out one last time and waved to us with a slightly sad smile. I sighed and lead Mingus back into the now quiet apartment where he went back to his room. I leaned against the door and sighed again. This was going to be a long three months.
