"Who are you people?"

Miracle POV

"What does she mean by that" I asked looking at directly at the doctor with my eye and mouth opened.

"Errr." He doctor stammered and immediately went to her side to do some checks I don't understand. "Do you remember anything at all?" he asked Tiwa's who was still looking confused.
Everyone directed their attention to her awaiting her reply that would determine a lot of things including my breakdown.

I swear I'd never forgive myself if she has memory loss.

"I do but what is going on here" she asked weakly and we all heaved happily.

"That is a relief" the doctor said smiling " her pulse is fine, she's breathing very well and she seems rather too fine. I'd tell her nurse to bring in her medication and food" he announced and removed her air bag and did somethings with her computer before leaving with the assistant he brought in.

"How are you feeling Tiwa?" Nancy asked as she sat down beside her and held her hand

"I saw my mum" she replied weakly " I saw her. She was there with me" she said slowly.

"It is okay dear, it is a good thing you are alright. Just try to have some rest before your medication arrives" she spoke calmly before turning to me who have been standing at a secluded area probably avoiding Tiwa's gaze. "Meet me outside now" she commanded and went outside while I followed suit like a sheep led to the slaughter.

"Can you take care of her?" she asked immediately I closed the ward room.

"W-what do you mean by take care of her?" I asked as if I was ignorant of the fact that her industrial training (IT) program has ended and she has to return to the University next week.

"Lb this is not the time for joke, I need you to take care of her, that is the least you can do after causing this ruckus" she reprimanded me.

"I understand but how can I take care of her? Should I take her in or bath for her or feed her or take her to school or-"

"Do I look like am joking?"

"Am not joking too"

"You are unbelievable"

"I know right"

"He is listening"

"Please"

"I know, you don't have to worry but I have a feeling she hates me"

"That the problem but still take care of her"

"I will, I promise"

"Okay I'd meet the doctor and pay the bills, just calm her down and make sure she uses her medication. Please don't let her family members come near her. Am I understood?"

"Aye aye captain" I said jokingly and she gave me a fun blow before heading out while we just went back to the ward.

Tiwa's POV

Images of my mum keeps flashing back to my memory and I could vividly remember how she stroked my hair in a place which I can't remember.

The doctors already removed my air bag and I could breath on my own but my hair. I had kept that hair for the seventeenth years of my life and now there is not a single evidence that a twelve inches hair grew on my head. What a wicked world.

"Are you okay?" I heard someone say and I forcefully turned my head to see Nancy and his brother back to my ward
Oh Miracle. I finally had the chance to see his full self. He looked sad and tired and I could tell he hadn't had his shower today. He managed to put on a small smile before putting his head in a downcast manner.
He is probably ashamed. Of course he should be ashamed after what he did.

"When will I be discharged?" I asked Nancy who is already sitting beside my bed.

"Maybe when you are okay, but I'll speak to the doctor about that" she replied and I nod my head.

"Am so sorry Tiwa" she said in an apologetic voice.

"No it is not your fault Nancy. I was careless" I said giving her a smile while I touched my head to remind myself of my bald head.

"Tiwa are you still feeling pains in your head" Miracle finally had the courage to ask me but I ignored him.

"What about my schooling" I asked Nancy strictly facing her.

"Okay Let me check on the doctor" she said as she stood up to leave.

Great! leaving me and Miracle.

"Are you still feeling pains"

I ignored him

"Do you want water or food"

Yes! I wanted to scream but I have my pride to keep so I ignored him.

"Are you ignoring me"

I ignored him again

"Fine, I know what I did was bad but you can't understand the reason why I did-"

"Please I want to rest, am having headache so can you please just.." I cut him off and shook my head hoping he'd understand what I meant.

"Okay, am sorry" he said innocently and sat down on the chair beside my bed.

What exactly did he think that I can't understand, then let him keep it to him self, like I care.

The silence was disturbing and I could see Miracle stealing glances at me for the hundredth time but I still ignored him.

Finally, Miss Nancy came in broke the news that I would be discharged the following week pending my recovery.

I let out a sign and I could only wish.

Throughout my stay in the hospital, Miracle never ceased to visit me but I continued to play deaf and dumb, but he never seized to bring delicious foods which I always eat after he goes out.

You can't blame me, who would reject food.

Day by day my body grew stronger and the pain was lessened except that I had no magic powder to grow my hair.

I knew I had no reason to be angry at Miracle because there was nothing between us and he had every right to date my cousin but I could not bring myself to just speak to him.

Speaking of my cousin, my so-called family never visited me not even for once. Apart from Miracle and Nancy who already went back to school, no one else visited me. I had no friends at home or at school. Believe me I'm the perfect definition of a loner. School was just an escape from home but it was nothing special, my classmates knew I hawks and they found it very funny to move me with it.

Foolish people.

Days later, I was discharged and I went back to my house. Keynote: house not home.

My very generous Aunt and uncle gave me a week off from duties and Hawking since they employed a maid while I was away.

Wonder why they didn't do that since and made me suffer my ass out.

Time went fast and my wound was healed.
Monday came which means I had to resume school and yes hawking.

I was in the traffic for almost three hours and there was no sign of Miracle's car. Maybe he couldn't just face me and instead took another route.

But why is he avoiding me. As much as I am angry, I still want to see him so I went to the other side of the road when I had this strong urge to urinate.

I could not hold it again and I decided to ease my self in a nearby bush.

As the professional trained hawker that I am, I went into the bush and dropped my tray on the floor to ease myself.

I signed with relief after urinating, I went to pick up my tray when I heard footsteps. I decided to ignore it but then I felt a strong hand covering my mouth.

Miracle's POV

Ever since she was discharged I couldn't concentrate at school and today was even worse, I had to feign sickness to the school nurse and request to go home early

I've been thinking about Tiwa since the accident and I can't get her off my system. I was torn in between going to her house or sticking to mine. I'm not sure I'd bear it if anything happens to her again but I couldn't just sit her and hope all is well.

Where are you Tiwaa, are you still recovering or hawking?

I have to confirm this. I took my car; the sport car my dad bought for me on my seventeenth birthday and drove to the same spot where we used to meet her; the highway but there was no sign of her.

"Maybe she was still at home" I thought to my self.

Should I visit her at home or what? I was confused, I was about to enter my car when I saw her.

It was Esther and damn she is still looking very beautiful as usual, she was dressed in a green revealing top and a black short. She was probably trying to board a bus and she can't notice me.

The foolish me crossed the road and headed towards her diretion, I was cut short when she entered into a man's car.

Believe me, she would never change.

I have been fooled again. I waited for the traffic light so that I can cross again then something else caught my attention.

It was the chips. The exact one Tiwa sells, I saw it at the helm of the gutter tempting to fall into it.

'What can the chips be doing there? What is happening.' I asked myself

I ignored it and tried to focus on the road when another chip rolled down causing the previous one to fall.

'something is definitely wrong somewhere' I thought as I went into the bush to check the source of the falling chips when I saw the empty tray and the scattered chips. It signified something.

Danger.
