I had dragged myself over to Tom's, I really didn't want to. New Year's eve was just not something I was about. Saying, "Oh, I'm gonna do this to better myself!" "I'm going to kiss someone for good luck!" "New year, new me!" is absolute BS! Having been broken  up with just a week prior on Christmas Eve, I was not ready to go out and party and see all of my friends kiss their significant other while I had a glass of wine to sip on, nuh-uh, not about it! But Tom forced me to, "You need to! Harry is dying to see you!" He exclaimed over the phone. I sighed, "I'm just not feeling it Tom, I'm so sorry. Plus Harry doesn't even like me like that." Tom huffed, "Fine, but you should still check your porch. And yes he does!" Then he hung up.

I opened my front door, seeing a bag with some tissue paper sticking out the top. I read the note, it said:

"Hey Y/N!

I knew I could guilt you into coming to my party tonight if I bought you a pretty dress. I'm your best friend, I know you. Anyway, see you tonight darling! I know you're going to look great!

-Tom"

Fuck you Thomas!  I cursed in my head, he did know me so well as to guilt me out in this fashion.

I pushed my hair behind my ear, the black, skin-tight, sparkly dress made me feel more confident than I ever have. Tom really did know me. I put on my shoes then drove to his house.

I stood at the door for a short moment, mentally preparing myself for the most human interaction I've had in 6 days. I knocked a couple times then heard Tom yell, "It's open!" I walked in, finding Tom, Nadia, Sam, Charley, Harrison, Gracie and Harry sitting on the sofas and chairs.  "Y/N! You made it!" Tom jumped up and threw his arms around me. I hugged Tom tightly, "Thank you for the dress." Tom nodded to Nadia, "She picked it out." I smiled at her, tears forming in my eyes, "Tom told me that you feel guilty easily. I was out shopping for my new dress and saw that one that literally had your name on it. I'm glad to see you and see you in it! You look amazing!" She held her arms out and hugged me tight. Nadia knew how close Tom and I are and it makes me so thankful that she's not jealous. Harrison stood and hugged me as well, "We need to get you a new boyfriend." I laughed, tears reforming in my eyes. After my 'hello's Harry patted the seat next to him, "Sit with me."

We'd been playing various games throughout the night, but now it was time to prepare to welcome the new year. "Alright, 2 minutes 'til midnight!" I said, checking my phone. We all eagerly looked at our watches and phones, preparing to video the few moments left of this decade. "10... 9... 8... 7... 6... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1! Happy New Year!" We all cheered. Tom kissed Nadia, Harrison dipped Gracie and Sam hugged Charley, pressing a soft kiss to her lips.  Harry and I watched them with happy resentment, wishing we had someone to do that with.

I locked eyes with Harry, "Will you kiss me?" The look on his face was priceless, "What?" "Will you kiss me?" I asked again, I was worried he'd say no or laugh in my face, but he held my face in his hands and pressed his lips to mine in a sweet kiss. Everyone else cheered for us when we pulled away. "I never thought you two would get there!" Tom said. Harry wrapped his arm around me and we both laughed, ready for the year to come.
