Chapter 33

A loud shrilling sound filled the hallways of school at lunch. The principal coughed in the intercom which echoed through the hallway as everyone listened.
"I would like to let you all know that the school council has organised a ball for charity. Every ticket you buy for the ball, will be given to a cancer charity. Please invite your friends and families since the school is funding a lot for this." He mumbled the ending as if he really didn't want to do this. "It has been organised for the next couple of days so find yourself a partner and come and dance your heart out for charity." He stated before it went radio silence.
"A ball?" Lizzie asked besides me. "I think we should go shopping. Buy a beautiful gown and look sexy." She said as I saw ideas burning in her mind.
I shrugged my shoulders. Anything to stay out of the house.
I noticed him. He was walking towards me, with his friends behind him, a grin on his face as he then jogged towards me in the hallway. "Hey." He stretched out his arm and held my hand.
"Hi." I smiled at him as he lifted our hands up and kissed the back of my hand. I loved it.
"Will you be my partner at the ball?" He asked with a raised eyebrow and I nodded. I would be at peace with him. Not a single thought could wander in my mind when I am with him.
"We're going to buy dresses after school and then you guys can match them." Lizzie said besides me as Calvin wrapped an arm around her shoulder and leaned down to kiss her. Alex wrapped an arm around Josh but immediately let go as we spotted Riley walking past. He waved at her as she smiled at him. Ramon whacked him on the back of his head.
"We're going to have a girl's night today so no disturbing us." Lizzie pointed her finger at the boys and they all nodded as she grabbed my hand away from Ramon and pulled me away from them. Ramon waved at me and I smiled before turning to Lizzie and following her.
Ramon had won yesterday. Something had awoken inside of when I saw him completely focused on the fight. There was something beautiful about the way his arms moved and he bounced on his toes, taunting the man in front of him. I watched him for his weakness, the same ones that Ramon picked up on, like the way the man took a step before he punched. It was easy to uppercut him and knock him out which was exactly what Ramon did.
Every girl stared at him as he walked off out of the ring completely shirtless, not a drop of sweat on his body and he walked towards me with a simple question. When will that maybe turn to yes?
I had laughed as he got changed. He didn't take the money off Joe and walked out of the gym with me. We walked to my house and I gave him the money for the apartment once I signed the papers. I could move in any day I wanted too.
Lizzie was going to help me tomorrow to move all the boxes into the apartment. I had a lot of stuff to do but it kept me busy and kept me moving which I wanted.
I walked into my maths class and sat down at the back with Lizzie. I needed today to end so we could shop, to do anything.
***
The mall was busy today. I noticed a lot of girls from our school, walking inside shops quickly to find themselves a dress for the not-going-to-call-it -prom-but-it -was-prom.
Lizzie and I walked out of the elevator to our usual dress shop where we were regular customers but the employees didn't acknowledge it.
"I think an emerald green would look good on you." She said as we walked past the short colourful dresses and towards the long dresses at the back.
"I don't think I have ever worn green." I thought out loud.
"Not green green, Charlotte." She facepalmed herself. "Emerald green." Lizzie walked towards the dresses and looked through them slowly, taking her time.
"Fine." I leaned against the wall so she could find the emerald green for me. "Tell me about you and Calvin." I asked, noticing a smile on her face at his name.
I hadn't asked. With so much going on, I didn't want Lizzie to think I didn't care about her. Of course I did. I wanted to know.
"He asked me to meet him after I'm done shopping because he wants to take me out on a date." She whirled around to look at me with a big grin on her face. "There is a high chance, like 99.9999% that he might ask me to be his girlfriend." She tried to hold in her excitement.
"Really?" I asked with a smile on my face as I pushed myself away from the wall and towards her. "What are we waiting for then? Let's buy anything so you can go."
She chuckled, looking through the dresses. "So." She dragged out the word without looking at me. "What about you and Ramon?" She asked curiously as she pulled out a green dress. Emerald green.
It was a v neck gown with a high slight on the left side. It was simple and I liked it as she held it up against me.
"What about us?"
She rolled her eyes with a smile on her face as she handed me the dress. "Don't give me that, amore." Lizzie mimicked his voice. "I see the looks and holding hands and the laughter and the smiles. I can see the chemistry. I can see the love." She drawled out the word love as I pushed her a little telling her to shut up with a smile on my face.
She chuckled as she pulled out a black dress for herself. "I'm only going to be happy for you two and whatever it is that you have, is when you invite me to the wedding as the maid of honour." She held the black dress against herself in the empty shop and twirled a little before moving back to the rack, as people looked at her from outside the shop.
"He said he loved me." I told her.
That was something I hadn't said out loud yet. It felt unreal that Ramon was in love with me.
Her eyes widened as she stared at me. "What. Did. You. Just. Say."
"The night of my birthday, we were sitting on the balcony, just talking when he said it to be. He was about to kiss me when you and Calvin walked in like two starved humans." I chuckled at myself as she slapped her head and groaned quietly.
"I fucking ruined a moment." She shook her head at herself muttering how she was the biggest cockblock ever.
"Let's buy some shoes and then you can drop me off home before going to meet your future boyfriend." I said to her. Lizzie grinned, a blush on her face as we walked to the changing rooms to get changed.
For the next hour, Lizzie and I shopped. We bought earrings, heels, new clothes for myself. I bought myself McDonalds since she was going out with Calvin.
"I'll ring you later." She said to me as she parked at the bottom of my street. I nodded as I got out of her car and closed the passenger's side. Opening the back door, I picked up the five bags and my food, and closed the door with my hip.
She turned the car around and drove away as I headed up the street.
I needed to do grocery shopping as well today. I walked towards my door and placed the bags down as I pulled out the keys from my pocket and opened the door.
There were brown boxes everywhere with words that said kitchen. Books. Clothes. Underwear. Random stuff.
I shut the door with my leg and placed the bags down on the floor and headed to the kitchen. My food was already cold enough and I could reheat it when I was back. I placed the drinks and the bag down on the counter before walking out of the front door again, heading towards Adam's market.
I patted the pocket of my jacket as I walked down the street. I had enough money to buy the basics.
"Lightning devil."
Images of my dad dying flashed through my mind over and over again.
It was his voice. I whirled around to see him standing there, a smirk on the face that did not look a day different from when he killed my dad.
"I am going to kill you." The rage inside of me simmered up, burning my throat, screaming at me to claw at his face.
He took a step back and ran up into the dark alleys that were barely lit from the sun.
I chased him.
The coin in my pocket jiggled with every step I took, but I ignored it as Logan climbed up on the bin before jumping over the gate. I did the same, no hesitation in my steps as I landed on the ground and ran after him.
A body came charging at me and I twisted myself out of the way just in time to watch him hit his head against the brick wall. Logan chuckled as he leaned against a wall. There were about ten people surrounding me and I didn't give a fuck.
"You wanted me, Charlotte. I'm right here." He opened his arms out. "Come and get me." He chuckled.
I took a step towards him and his men moved. I dodged a punch to my face, and twisted his hand around, breaking it with my foot as he screamed in pain. I felt someone grab me by the hair.
Stupid move.
The man pulled on my hair, tilting my head back as I felt someone punch me in the boobs. I couldn't breathe. Fuck.
Pushing past the pain, wheezing, I wrapped my foot around the man that was holding my hair and I pulled on it, making him lose balance. He let go of my hair and I grabbed a hold of a hand that came to punch me. There were too many of them.
I felt the kick on my back and I gritted my teeth falling forward, hitting into someone's knee. Anger grew inside of me and I pushed myself back up, ignoring the blood dripping down my face.
I was going to kill them all.
Logan's laughter fueled me as I blocked a kick to my face with my arm that shrieked in pain. I grabbed onto the man's leg and lifted it up. He fell to the ground and I kicked him on the face, hard. He didn't move.
A punch came straight at my face and I couldn't dodge it in time as he connected to my jaw. They didn't hesitate to attack at once. I felt the kicks on my back, dropping me to the ground. I pushed myself up, not giving up, as I felt them strike with no fear.
Kick after kick came towards my body. I tried to twist out of the way, the blood on my arms, on my face, coating the ground as someone grabbed me by the hair.
Logan looked me in the face and I glared at him, lifting my hand up to punch him in the face. My hands were held down, as two men stood on my wrists, applying pressure a little. I tried to lift up my leg, so I could kick Logan where the sun didn't shine. I felt the same pressure on my feet as I gritted my teeth.
"You are strong, Charlotte, but even you can not take ten of my men by yourself." He chuckled as he trailed a finger down my cheek and towards my lips. I opened my mouth and bit down on his finger.
He cursed, tightening his hold on my hair so hard that I let go of his finger. Everything shrieked in pain.
My head was pounding as he stared at me. "I'm going to kill you and let Ramon Vitali watch the love of his life die. How poetic will that be?"
"You're a piece of shit." I hissed at him. "Don't have a dick in your pants, is that it, Logan? Can't fight? Will your balls fall off if you break a nail?" I asked him, a glare in my eyes as one of his men huffed a laugh.
Men were weak when it came to their masculinity. Their egos ate them up inside, giving them the urge to show how strong they could be.
I wanted him to fight me. The moment he let go of my hair, I would kill him.
A glare was fixed in his eyes as he looked down at me. "Do not tempt me to show you how much of a man I am, little lightning girl." His hand tightening on my hair, so hard I winced.
He smirked just as I heard gunshots close by.
"Boss. They're here." One of his men hissed as he ran towards us.
Logan looked down at me and he leaned down to whisper in my ear. "See you at the ball."
He punched my face, dropping me backwards as they all ran away. I laid on the ground, seeing stars in the darkness, with one thought on my mind. I was going to kill him.

Fighting in anger is never the solution to anything.
Question- How much do we really hate Logan?
