Jamie

"Take your jacket!" Oliver Time shouted from the kitchen.

"I can't find it!" Baby Tooth, or Toothiana Time, replied while shifting through the stuff on the couch and floor.

Oliver poked his head through the doorway. "Well where did you leave it last?"

"That's the problem!" Baby Tooth gave a smile as she whined.

Oliver sighed and walked down the hall and into his room. He returned a few seconds later with a long, brown coat. He handed it to Baby Tooth, then grabbing her head and planting a small kiss on her forehead.

"Now go or you'll be late."

"Thanks!"

As Baby Tooth put on the jacket and grabbed her book-bag, Oliver handed the girl lunch box, which was actually a blue bento (however did not have Japanese food.). Baby Tooth gave another smile to Oliver before heading out the door, being met with the cold, winter air. Her hair, now bundled into a ponytail with a fuzzy hair tie, blew as the wind met it. Her bangs were more spiky and her hair had less of a childish look. However, she did have a section that pointed out like feathers.

Baby Tooth was now at the human age of 15. Ever since she left Little Apple Orphanage, when Oliver adopted her, a good 5 or 6 years have passed. In addition, her body has grown a bit faster then normal. She wasn't human, and has still yet to have reached her home with the guardians. She gave up after what happened to Jackson...

Today was Baby Tooth's first day of high-school. She reached the bus stop in short 2 minute walk down the street. Her wait in the cold air had to last another 15 minutes, but the bus was warm so that made it all alright. Baby Tooth didn't live in the best neighbor hood, and she had learned since starting school that there were some very mean, horrible, stupid children in this world. So she spent her time ignoring those and listening to the music on her ipod nano that Oliver gave her two Christmas' ago.

Walking into the 3 story school, Baby Tooth had arrived early. She, as well as the other children, were pushed into the auditorium. There were about 50 other children sitting in the seats or standing, talking to each other. She paid no mind to them, though she was happy that those on her bus left at a different high school.

As Baby Tooth sat, her iPod still playing, she stared at the stage on the other side of the room. Her book-bag at her feet, she imagined things to go along with her music. She went to an art based school, for she didn't want to go to any one star high schools and Oliver encouraged her talent in drawing. She still kept her word on being a dentist, but there were no local schools revolving around that.

"Hey! You there!"

Another kid, a teen about the age of 16, tugged the earphone form Baby Tooth's ear. She had a smile and beautiful blonde hair. Next to her was a girl with brown and blue hair. They looked friendly.

"So you're a freshmen, huh?" One smiled. "Welcome!"

"Oh, um, thank you." Baby Tooth smiled.

"I guess you don't know anyone here, seeing as though you are alone." The blue haired girl said. "Mind coming with us?"

Baby Tooth pulled the other headphone out and put her ipod up.

"Su-"

"IT IS NOW 7:30. YOU MAY HEAD TO YOUR HOMEROOMS NOW!" The principal called from the front doors to the room.

The girls turned to Baby Tooth.

"Hey, we just got to get our things. Is your home room on the 3rd floor?"

Baby Tooth nodded her head.

"Awesome! So is ours!"

-....-

"Room 2...0...8..." Baby Tooth walked down the hall as she looked at the map of the school in front of her.

"208...208..." She looked up, only to run into someone she had not seen coming. It was a light bump, but the map fell form her hands.

"Oh, s-sorry!"

Baby Tooth was too still to do anything as she watched a boy with brown hair and a blue multicolored winter hat bend down to pick up her map. He handed it back to her and she noticed his eyes were brown. His face looked...familiar.

"I see you're a freshmen." He said. "I'm a senior."

"T-thank you..." She took the map. "I-I am."

"Well, 208 is just downstairs and the first room on the left. I hope that helps."

The boy walked away and left Baby Tooth there. She turned to watch him disappear into the crowd of other students. Baby Tooth had heard that voice before. As she turned to continue to walk towards her room, she thought about it. He sure wasn't one of the children from Little Apple. In fact, she had yet to see any of them since she left. But he looked like someone she knew.

"Hey! New girl!"

Baby Tooth turned around to see the two girls she had met earlier that morning. They ran over to join her sides.

"So, looks like you just ran into the quietest boy in the 12th grade!" The blue haired girl, who was named Katherine, smiled.

"Yeah! From what we heard, he isn't much of the talkative type." The blonde, Grace, smiled.

"W-Whats his name?" Baby Tooth asked.

"Um..." Katherine paused. "J...J...Jamie...oh!"

"Jamie Bennett." Grace smiled. "I have two classes with him."

Jamie Bennett. Baby Tooth remembered now. He was Jack's first believer. He was the one that saved the guardians from, more or less, death. What was he doing here? In Savannah? Didn't he live in Burgess? Did Jack know he was here? Baby Tooth realized that Jamie could be her way to the Guardians! That was, if he still believed. For the first time in years, Baby Tooth felt inpatient again to get home.

"Hello?" Grace waved her hand in front of Baby Tooth's face. "Toothiana Time. Hey!"

The bell rung.

"Oh!" The two girls started walking away. "We'll be late on first day! Sorry!"

And Baby was left to find her first class once more...

-...-

The rest of the day was fine. Her classes were good. She had C lunch though. Since there were so many students, there were three different lunch times. Her's was the last, and she had to go through 3/4ths of her classes before lunch. It was already 12:40 by then. He blindly picked a spot at a table in the back, sitting down to see what Oliver had put inside her little bento box.

"So my teacher got mad at all of us for failing and blamed it all on how we don't pay attention."

"But that's total bull. You come home with ten stacks of notes for that one class."

Baby Tooth overheard the conversation of the two next to her at the table.

"I hate her so much. I want her fired."

"Well, we all have our fair share of bad teachers."

"I hate it here. I want to go back home. To Burgess."

Baby Tooth stopped her eating to overhear more.

"I want to too, but we have to wait for mom to finish her work down hear."

"How many more years?"

"Two." There was sigh. "She says I can wait until we return to start college."

"But that means you get one whole year of no school while I still have to attend here!"

"Well, that's not my problem."

"I can't wait to get back. I wonder if Pippa and Monty will still pay outside in the snow."

"They'll be in college too."

"Does that mean I have to play outside alone now!?"

"Sophie." There was a pause and a small chuckle. "Of course not."

Sophie...Burgess...Monty and Pippa. Jamie Bennett. Baby Tooth knew these people. They were her way home! Her emotions built up inside of her and without realizing it, she was crying. It was the excitement that maybe, just maybe, she could find her way home. Not a thought of Oliver or her life as a human reminded her of what she'd leave behind. Her tears it the table, and as the two's conversation died, it seemed like the pitter-patter could be heard.

"Hey... Are you okay?"

Baby Tooth turned her head as a small gasp escaped her mouth. Jamie and Sophie Bennett stared at her, waiting for her to reply. She wiped her tears away. She had to tell them. She had to ask them. She had to know.

"I-I'm fine. Thanks." Was all she could say.

"o...okay."

They turned away.

Realizing her mistake, Baby Tooth ripped a piece of lined paper out from a journal she had poking out of her book-bag. She took a pencil and wrote a single sentence on there. It read, "Do you still believe?". She pushed it over to Jamie and turned back to her food.

Jamie too the paper, reading it as Sophie watched in confusion. Jamie's eyes widen and he handed the paper to Sophie. They then turned to Baby Tooth. Without warning, Baby Tooth was pulled from her seat and out the back door of the cafeteria. They were outside, and it seemed none of the teachers saw them. Baby Tooth looked up at Jamie and Sophie, who looked confused, and rather happy.

"You aren't playing with me. Y-You know I believe still!?" Jamie gasped.

Baby Tooth grinned. "You still believe them!? J-Jamie Bennett! You, I." She could hardly find her words. "You guys still believe in Jack Frost!? Bunny!? Sandy!?"

"D-do you know them!?" Sophie looked shocked.

"You guys!" Baby Tooth was crying again. Tears of joy. She hugged the two without thinking.

"FINALLY!" She cried out. "Someone who can take me home!"

The two siblings gasped. Their words next came out dry.

"No way..." Sophie gazed at the girl.

"A...are you...?"

"You're Baby Tooth, arn't you?" Sophie asked.

Baby Tooth looked up at them.

"I don't know how I got turned into a human, but all I know now is that I can finally reach my home. My home with the guardians!" She smiled.

"I can't believe it!" Jamie jumped, hugging the girl back. "They have been so worried! I remember the week you disappeared Jack and I and Sophie and EVERYONE went out searching!"

"Every week Jack would come by to ask if we had seen anything!" Sophie added.

Baby Tooth was crying harder. She knew they would be worried, terribly, but to hear this from a witness was unimaginable.

Jamie let go. "But, Baby Tooth, we...we kind of have a problem."

"Huh?" Baby Tooth asked.

"We haven't heard from Jack since we left Burgess 4 years ago..." Sophie said.

Baby Tooth felt bad again.

"B-BUT DON'T WORRY!" Jamie tried to make her happy again. "We'll help you get home! Promise!"

Baby Tooth smiled up at them. "Thank you! Thank you so much!"

-....-

"I'm home!" Baby Tooth called, walking into the house.

"How was it!?" Oliver walked into the front room, only to be surprised to see two other kids with her. One looked 17 and the other looked 15.

"Hello, Mr. Time!" Sophie smiled.

"It's a pleasure to met you." Jamie smiled. "I'm Jamie Bennett, and this is my sister, Sophie."

Baby Tooth took of her shoes and placed her things down.

"I made some friends!" She smiled at Oliver.

Oliver smiled. "Well come on in! If you are all hungry I can fix a little snack."

"No thanks, ." Jamie smiled.

"That's very kind of you, though." Sophie added.

Oliver watched as the three made their way into Baby Tooth's room. He smiled, turning to sit down on the couch.

"Well at least her first day was a good one."
