Prologue
-Japan-Kuroko Household-2 years ago-
The household was quiet, with everyone sleeping in their beds comfortably.
A sudden ringing from a young (H/C)'s wrist pierced through the silence of the morning, causing her (E/C) irises to snap open.
She quickly sat up and placed her hand over the speaker on the watch to dim the blaring noise, before she then warily glanced across the room, where her roommate had simply turned in his bed.
The (H/C) sighed softly in relief, then rushed to the bathroom across the hallway, closing and locking the door behind her, before uncovering the watch and pressing the screen.
"There better be a good reason that you almost woke up the freakin' household." The female cursed in English at the orange haired male in irritation.
"You need to get out of there soon, Y/N." The orangenette stated in a serious tone. "They've begun the search, starting with the Tsuki and Nami."
The (H/C) blinked, then looked at the male with a dull expression. "Understood."
-Morning-2 years ago-
The young bluenette, better known as Kuroko Tetsuya, yawned and rubbed at his blue eyes drowsily. With a tired smile, he gazed at the bed that had been set up in his room two years ago, only to sit up with a surprised expression when he saw the most unusual thing. His roommate was gone, and her bed was made up.
She was never up before him.
Just as this fact ran through his mind, his phone chimed on the nightstand beside his bed, alarming him that he had a message.
'To: My Basketball Boy 🏀
From: N/N
I'm leaving. Please take care of the others.'
Reading the text over and over again, the bluenette bit his bottom lip.
Simple and to the point. Just like her. He thought, before flinching as his phone began to ring.
He quickly answered it, hoping this was just some sick joke Aomine got her to do.
"Kuroko-chii! Is Y/N-chii really leaving!?" An annoying blond shouted into the phone.
"No." Kuroko bluntly stated.
"Oh great! I thought her and Aomine were pranking me aga-"
"She's already gone." Kuroko cut Kise's rant off.
-UNKNOWN-California, America-A week before-
"You called for me, Boss?" The (H/C) sighed as she stood in front of the large oak desk.
"Indeed." The male turned from the window in his swivel chair and stared at the female through his dark shades. "Ningen, you're going to become one of the coaches for the World Tornament."
"Hah?" The (H/C) paled. "B-but sir-" she began to stutter out, only to be stopped by the male who held up a hand.
"No excuses. It has come to my attention of your vast knowledge of basketball during meetings, and you won't be alone, you'll have Josh working with you." The man stated.
"The soccer dad? Come on boss, he doesn't know anything about basketball!" She exclaimed.
"On the contrary, he's played basketball for five years, much longer than you Ningen. End of discussion, unless you want to give up your position." The man declared, lowering his dark shades as he stared at the (Etnicity) female.
The female's (E/C) orbs hardened, before clutching onto the charm hanging from her neck. "I've given up many things in my life, sir, but I will never give up this."
"Very good. You're excused." The blond waved his hand towards the door, and the female walked out instantly.
Little did she actually know what she had gotten herself into.
(A/N: Throughout the story I'll mostly be using their first names rather than their last names. Simply because I feel like no one cares enough to know what their first names actually are, plus this sort of brings the reader closer to the character.)
