Ami was always the outcast within the Slytherin population. Contrary to popular beliefs, Ami discovered that all Slytherins had a strong opinion about keeping the Wizard blood "pure." She, herself, believed that as well. She did not blame the muggle-borns for their magic, she blamed the ancestor that had decided to marry a Muggle. However, that's not the reason as to why Ami was an outcast.

She was an outcast because she was polite to everybody, no matter what their parents were or who they were associated with.

For this reason, Ami was considered a "joke" around the Slytherins. They called her the girl who was even rejected by Hufflepuff, or "H.O." For "Hufflepuff Outcast." Of course, Ami embraced the name rather than being upset about it, which eventually caused her to gain mutual friends. Why were the Slytherins so rude about blood purity? It wouldn't kill them to be polite was a reoccurring thought in her head.

But then she realized it probably would.

Ami was to begin her sixth year at The Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She was excited because she would be back at her second home, but terribly sad with leaving her family behind again.

She was usually mocked at Hogwarts from the Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, and Ravenclaw Houses because her parents, while trying to keep the line pure, married each other. However it was strange when the Slytherins found out Ami had two mothers, they respected her family because they put the priority of blood before priority of a man and a woman to be together. Soon, she gained so much respect that the other Houses didn't dare try to mock her if they didn't want to be severely injured by a Slytherin. It was nearly unheard of in history, which also made her gain some fame after her cruel nickname died out.

Not only was Ami going to leave her two loving mothers, but also her younger brother, Troy, who would be celebrating his fifth birthday while she was at Hogwarts. It always pained her to leave the little one behind; but it only drove her determination to finish the school year with high hopes.

Once the family was at Platform Nine and Three Quarters, Ami embraced her mothers and brother in loving hugs, promising them that she would talk all about her time at Hogwarts.

Little did Ami realize that she would keep one secret to herself.
