Warner Schmidt was created seventeen years ago during Hydra's hiding in SHIELD. The boy grew up as one of their assets, training and fighting alongside Hydra as their little secret weapon that could be used when the time came. He grew up believing that he was the grandson of Johann Schmidt, never knowing him by his other name, only that he was a great leader of Hydra. He believed his parents were killed during an accident involving rogues, and that Alexander Pierce took him in to keep him safe. In reality he was a clone created out of Johann Schmidt's DNA combined with an X-gene to give him abilities. Warner was given the alias Blaze due to his fire manipulation and creation abilities. Hydra keeps most of his past from him, and gives him reasons to fight for their cause. The parts that are not kept from him are the parts that Hydra has concocted so he never felt out of place or had a reason to question his identity. They conditioned a code word that would make him temporarily lose his consciousness into him, which just made him feel like he lost time in the day when they used it. It was a word common enough for him to not question it, but uncommon enough for someone to not use it accidentally. Warner recently has been let out more so he can see the world a little bit, but through Hydra's eyes. All he sees is a world of chaos in desperate need for order. Hydra's Son is theirs to control.
