Chapter 4: Folkvar Comes Back
Ever since I found Ralts, we have been becoming closer and closer. We both go to the meadow to play with the Pokémon that live there. We also battle the Pokémon. They have come to like Ralts. They adore her. One night, Ralts, the other Pokémon and I were lying under the stars. It was serene as we all looked at the constellations in the sky. Until a light came down and scared the other Pokémon away. Ralts and I got up and readied to fight.
"Who are you," I asked the light?
The light dimmed, it contorted and shifted. Then the light shined brighter. We shielded our eyes. When the light dimmed down, we uncovered our eyes. My eyes widened with shock and my jaw dropped for I realized who it was. There standing right in front of us, was Folkvar, my Lucario.
Tears streaming down my face, I ran into Folkvar's embrace. "FOLKVAR!! I thought--"
"Hello, Silver. I missed you terribly," he said through telepathy, "But I can't stay long."
I broke the embrace and said, "What?"
Folkvar looked at me, then at Ralts. "I have something to tell you. I've been watching you, Silver. And I know my death hasn't been easy for you."
"It hasn't."
"I love you like a brother. But as hard as it is, I want you to move on."
"What?! Why?"
"It's been really hard to see you suffer for the past two years. To see your grief build and build, until the point where you shut yourself in your room. Then I tried to show you to the meadow where you can play with the Pokémon. Your grief decreased but your anger grew and grew."
I looked down, tears in my rushing down my face. It's true. I haven't let go. I hate that Team Flare took everything from me.
"When I saw you with that Ralts, your anger and grief diminished. You were happy. You were as happy as you were with me."
I looked up again. That was also true. I seemed to have as great of a time with Ralts as I used to with Folkvar.
"I want you to spend many great memories with that Ralts. Go traveling again. Meet great people. Accomplish that dream of yours. Discover your past! Sitting here withdrawn isn't the Silver I know. I wish this for you to do. It will help me move on...to know that you have, too."
I looked down at my feet. He was right. This isn't me. I want to accomplish my dream and discover my past. I may not have Folkvar, but I do have Ralts. It would be wasting my life if I still stayed here until I grew old.
I wiped my eyes and smiled with renewed determination. Then I looked at him and said, "You're right. Sitting here isn't doing anything for me. It may take me awhile, but I'll move on. I'll go accomplish things that no one in this region has ever done. I will discover my past. All for you."
"No, not for me. Do it for you. And one more thing. Go to the Ancient Forest, I think you may find the answers to your past there."
Folkvar started to glow in a golden light. He floated off the ground. "Looks like it's time for me to go. But I'll leave you something that whenever you need help, you can always ask me. Oh, and give Team Flare a good beating for me. Remember, I love you, Brother!"
"I love you, too, Brother!"
Folkvar turned from a figure into a ball of light and shot up towards the sky to the heavens above.
"FAREWELL," Folkvar yelled!
"GOOD-BYE," I screamed!
And then, he was gone.
I fell on my knees, gripped the grass below, and cried and cried and cried. The other Pokémon who were hiding in the bushes close by, ran to me, trying to comfort me. Ralts came to my side with an Oran Berry in her hands. I smiled as she gave me the Oran Berry and I popped it in my mouth. I wiped my eyes.
"Thank you. For being so kind to me," I said to the Pokémon around me, "Especially you, Ralts."
Ralts smiled a big smile. So, as the night trailed on, we went back to stargazing. Eventually, one by one, each of the Pokémon went to their little homes, bidding us good night. But Ralts and I, had fallen asleep laying on the flowers, right next to each other.
