Track 3: Not Spring, Love, or Cherry
-2 weeks later-
"Huh? A party?" Otoya questioned, looking as surprised as the others at Haruka's proclamation of what they should do to celebrate the amount of hits that were given for Tokiya's and METEORITE's collaboration.
"Well, kind of. I heard that there's a new bar opening up and I thought that it would be fun to go to, especially since it has a karaoke feature." Haruka explained, a bit shyly, to the group.
"Now you're talking my language, dolly!" Angelica exclaimed, punching the air as she called out the nickname that she had given to Haruka since they bonded over the orangette filling in for Fumie on the keyboard for the song.
"I didn't think you'd be the type to be into bars, Haru-chan." Van snickered in amusement, causing Haruka's cheeks to dust a soft pink.
"So, will we be going?" Haruka asked, a bit overly excited that her idea might be accepted by everyone.
"I'm in!" Natsuki eagerly agreed, followed by a couple of others cheering.
Others seemed a bit more hesitant, such as Syo and the older members of Quartet Night, though the four remaining members of METEORITE stared at Y/N expectantly as she seemed to be thinking it over with much dramatic pause.
"Sounds good to me." Y/N finally said, smiling at Haruka as her group grinned brightly at the chance of being able to go out.
-Night-
"Yoohoo~! May I come in?" Hearing a knock on the door to her bedroom, Y/N pulled her gaze away from her wardrobe to see a familiar figure peek in through the doorway.
"Ringo!" Squealing, Y/N jumped onto her bed, and then onto the other side as she rushed into the arms of her former mentor, who giggled happily as he wrapped his arms around her. Neither seeming to mind that the (F/C) female was just wearing a bra and a pair of lacy panties. "What are you doing here?" Y/N excitedly questioned as she closed the door after the crossdressing male walked fully into the room.
"I heard that you were all heading out to the place Hyuga and I were planning on going to tonight, so I just knew I had to come meet up with my favorite girl!" Ringo explained. "Now, don't tell me you're going out like that." He giggled, pointing towards the underclothing that Y/N had on.
"Ringo!" Once more squealing, this time out of embarrassment, Y/N rolled her eyes and pouted as she smacked his arm. "For your information, I just couldn't figure out what to wear. A lot of my clothes went with the (2nd F/C) hair I had last month, rather than my (F/C) this month." She explained, collapsing onto her bed and watching the long, pink haired male dig through her hanging clothes and tossing things around.
"Well if you could stick with one color, I think that you wouldn't have so much difficulty." Ringo seemed to scold the female. Glancing over his shoulder, he smiled at Y/N. "I like the (F/C) on you, so you should keep it for a little bit longer than a month, m'kay?" He asked, in which Y/N nodded with a pink hue covering her cheeks at his compliment. "Here, try this on with this." Ringo then tossed a pair of clothing at Y/N, as he then dug through her many odd pairs of shoes.
Once pulling on the clothing, Y/N smiled at her reflection and made a small twirl. The outfit was a sweater that was white with pink dots and stripes that only she could possibly pull off, and a matching pink skirt that barely reached her thighs, but was made up for by a pair of sparkly stockings. She then sat on the bed once more and let Ringo help her put on the white pair of ballet heels*.
While he did so, Y/N did a quick once over of the male. He was dressed in his feminine side today, his usually pink curled wig was pulled into a side-ponytail with a shimmering black bow, and as usual his makeup made her slightly jealous with how effortless yet exquisite it looked -she only ever wore mascara and base, unless she had her makeup artist or Angelica wanted to do it-. He also wore a dark purple cocktail dress with black stockings, and black heels that made him taller than he already was compared to her.
"There, you look gorgeous." Ringo announced once he finished doing Y/N's own hair into a cute high ponytail with a pink scrunchie.
Perhaps she did not look as sophisticated and breath taking as Ringo did, but Y/N loved the look that only Ringo could make for her. Young, but beautiful. "Thank you, Ringo." She smiled happily at the male.
"Anything for my favorite girl." Ringo chuckled with a wink, kissing the top of Y/N's head, just as Kazue opened the door.
"Are you ready to go, Y/N?" The male questioned, eyeing the two with a sparkle in his eyes that caused Y/N's heart to flutter. It was the look that made her know that he loved her, no matter how she dressed.
"Thanks to Ringo." Y/N stated, placing her hand into Kazue's as he locked fingers with her. "Now, are you sure that you don't want to come with us? I'm sure that Thad can handle himself." She spoke as the three of them began to walk towards the elevator so that they could get to the lobby, where everyone was supposed to meet up.
"Unlike that old geezer, I would much rather go and party then stay here and read a book. But, you remember what happened the last time we left Thad alone. I don't want to come back to another robot fight." Kazue sighed.
"Oh, I remember that! The hotel you guys were staying at had a gym, right? I saw it on the news that one of the robots almost caused an explosion when it was set on fire." Ringo stated, poking his cheek with his well manicured nail, before he grinned and wrapped his arms around Y/N's neck and rubbed his cheek against hers. "You have such a brave boyfriend to want to willingly stay behind with a psychopath like that!" He exclaimed.
"He prefers 'sociopath'." Y/N and Kazue corrected, in sync, before they smiled at each other.
"Yeah, I do have a pretty great boyfriend." Y/N then agreed with Ringo, as the pink haired male let go of her as the elevator got closer to the first floor. "Text me if anything goes wrong, and please don't let Thad trick you into the pantry again." She began to rant, before being cut off by Kazue giving her a quick kiss on the lips.
"You make it sound as if you're a mother leaving the baby alone for the first time." Kazue chuckled. "Don't worry about a thing, just make sure I know when you guys are coming back. I love you." He declared.
Y/N blushed slightly, mostly because of the affection that was being shown in front of Ringo, even if he mostly seemed to gush rather than look disgusted or embarrassed himself over it. Though, she smiled lovingly at Kazue. "Alright. I love you too." She stood on her tiptoes, kissing her boyfriend just as the doors opened, and pulling away when they heard someone clear their throat.
"Are you coming, or what? Everyone's already waiting in the limo." An emotionless looking Ai stared at the couple, Ringo already heading towards the glass sliding doors, though the couple felt as if the android's eyes were freezing them up.
"Right." Kazue awkwardly chuckled. "Promise me that you guys will take good care of her tonight. I am trusting you all." He stated, tone harsh, as he stared at the four members of Quartet Night. The only ones who were still in the building, it seemed.
"Yeah, yeah, don't worry about us Loverboy." Ranmaru clicked his tongue and began to stomp away, Camus not too far behind in his own graceful manner.
"We'll make sure nothing happens to her." Reiji stated in his charming tone, though by the way his eye twitched as he took Y/N's hand made the couple feel as if he was saying 'as if anything bad would happen with us around'.
"Bye, Kazue." Y/N waved once more to her boyfriend, and Thad who had been watching from the second floor railing with Masato and Shion, before she let Reiji pull her out of the SILQ.
-Galactic Karaoke Bar-
Along the way to the bar, the limo would make small stops to drop off the others in small amounts so that they wouldn't pull up to the place and make a big scene.
Y/N was thankfully dropped off with Eiji, Ringo, and Hyuga, so the walk wasn't as awkward as it was tiresome. Well, perhaps, it was a bit awkward for Eiji.
Not only was he walking with one of the most prettiest girls that he had ever seen, but the way that she acted with Ringo, and knowing that Ringo was a male, he wondered how Kazue could not act jealous at all.
"About time!" Y/N exclaimed excitedly as they walked into the bar, looking quite excited that, despite it being a grand opening, it wasn't packed at all, maybe crowded enough that if she didn't keep a hold on one of the males she'd easily loose them. The place was actually quite small, and looked like an area that would be great for studying if she were still in school, if it wasn't for the aroma of alcohol and sweat from people who were already on the dance floor.
"Eh, let's go dance, Y/N!" Ringo excitedly squealed, clutching onto the female's arm and looking at her excitedly.
"You know that dancing is Ritsu's thing." Y/N giggled. "I'll catch up with you after I get a few drinks into me." She added afterwards when the male pouted.
"I'm with Aoi on this one." Hyuga stated, causing Ringo to pout even more.
"Fine, then you're coming with me!" Ringo exclaimed, grabbing onto Eiji and pulling the poor male to the glowing dance floor without letting the younger Otori have a say.
"So nice of you guys to finally join us." Nagi hissed out. "They're all yours now, Hyuga-san." He told the older man, beginning to walk away from a giggling bunch that consisted of Van, Ren, Natsuki, Syo, and Yamata, before Y/N grabbed him by the elbow.
"What happened before we got here?" She worriedly questioned.
"Van betted that he could drink more than Ren, and then Yamata said he could drink more than all of them, and before we knew it we were having a drinking contest. Obviously, I'm the winner." Nagi proudly stated. It was then that Y/N noticed the strong smell of alcohol on the short member of HEAVENS.
"Idiots." Hyuga groaned from Y/N's side, immediately ordering a drink. Probably to get rid of his growing headache of the group.
"Where are the others?" Y/N then asked.
Nagi shrugged. "Around. I don't think any of your friends have showed up yet." He stated, his gaze seeming to soften only slightly on the female when seeing her troubled expression. "Anyways, good luck." Patting her shoulder, he retreated to the dance floor quickly.
Y/N sighed and sat on the bar stool farthest from the group of drunks. "Something sweet and strong, please." She told the bartender, before silently surveying the scenery.
Now that she could actually see the place, she recognized that it was bigger than she first thought that it was, with two floors rather than one. Everything was white and modern, the disco lights that shone on it brightening up the place effortlessly. The drink bar was to the right of the room, while it seemed that those who were dancing were on the left of it, with seating areas here and there. In the middle of the room was a stage, where people, both drunk and sober, began to sing different songs. Most were girls singing about love.
Clicking her tongue in distaste at the lovey dovey tunes, Y/N turned her gaze to the amber liquid in her glass, ignoring the being that sat beside her as she downed the sweet drink.
"Hold up, where's the fire, sweetheart?" The voice questioned, gaining the female's gaze as she glanced at the unknown male with a raised eyebrow.
"I'm sorry, do I know you?" Y/N asked, raising her glass so the bartender knew she needed a refill. She didn't dare take her eyes off of the random guy.
"No, but you can get to know me." The guy grinned, inching a bit closer to the female.
"She's not interested, so fuck off." Someone sneered, wrapping an arm over Y/N's shoulders.
Y/N glanced up, releasing a sigh of relief when she saw Ranmarou glaring at the male, who immediately dashed away.
"Thanks." Y/N sighed as Ranmarou took the guy's seat. "But I didn't need your help." She added, before the silver haired male could say anything, and she took a sip of her refilled drink as he looked at her annoyed.
"I'll remember that next time I see some asshat hitting on you." He growled, taking a swig of the beer that he had been holding in his hand.
"Look, I know that Kazue asked for you and the others to watch over me, but I'm not that little girl anymore. I can handle myself, and I certainly don't need assistance from the likes of you four." She hissed at him, finishing her drink, before she stomped away to the dance floor.
"So nice of you to join us." Ringo giggled happily as Y/N found the others near the middle of the dance floor. "Did something happen?" He then asked, looking a bit worriedly at the female as he noticed the way that she had her arms wrapped around her middle in a protective stance.
"Huh? Oh, it's nothing, Ringo. Don't worry about me." Y/N attempted to smile as she lowered her arms.
"Then you should be dancing. That's what we're here for, right?" Eichi grinned, grabbing one of the female's wrists and pulling her against his chest.
"Hmph. You're quite forward, aren't you?" Y/N questioned, grinning as she joined the others in their dancing.
"I've never received a complaint before." Eichi casually replied, shrugging his shoulders.
"I find that hard to believe." Y/N laughed, soon enough forgetting about her troubles with the two other bands as she happily danced with the members of HEAVENS, who were still sober enough to not stumble around and hit on her, and her own bandmates who eventually showed up from their drop-off point.
"Umph. Just leave me here, my feet are aching." Y/N giggled as she collapsed onto one of the couches in one of the abandoned mini seating areas.
"Just take your shoes off." Angelica grinned, showing off her own bare feet as she hopped in a circle, before stumbling and being caught by Richard.
"No thanks, I don't want any of you to step on my feet." Y/N declined, shaking her head.
"Your loss~!" Angelica giggled, letting herself be pulled back into the sea of people.
Y/N smiled, then took off her heels and hissed as she rubbed at her feet. She knew for sure that they'll be sore the next few days, and that there was a possibility of blisters, but with the buzz that rang through her head after her eighth refill of her drink, she couldn't possibly worry about it.
Y/N had never been the party-type when she was younger, like a lot of the teens that she knew. It wasn't until she met the other members of METEORITE did she begin to let loose. It was only a matter of time, she figured, with Fumie being an ex-con with bad history, and Angelica with Richard and Thad having their own scene, and Kazue with a history that rivaled her own quite well. Though, the group never let their pasts take over, and they never went too far with their party lives. They knew their limits, and when those were hit, they knew it was time to go home before they did something stupid. For a group of young adults, the members of METEORITE acted far more mature than anyone would believe.
"You look tired." Someone pointed out from behind Y/N.
"I am." She huffed, glancing up to see Camus staring down at her, holding two drinks. "Is that for me?" She asked as he held out one of the slim glasses to her.
"Yes. You need to stay hydrated, even when just sitting around." The blond stated as Y/N accepted the glass gratefully.
"Still the adult of the group, huh?" Y/N chuckled with a wry smile as she glanced down at the golden liquid of champagne in the glass. "You guys never change."
"We could say the exact opposite of you." Camus stated as he sat on the sofa across from her.
"Hmm...What can I say? I've grown up." Y/N casually stated as she crossed her leg over the other and pressed her shoulders against the back of her seating.
"I would say that you act a lot more childish than like a woman." Camus retorted, taking a long sip of his own champagne.
"Geez, I can't ever meet your standards, huh?" Y/N scoffed and slammed her glass against the mini table that separated them, not hard enough to shatter it but enough so that the 'thunk' could be heard over the blaring music.
"Where are you going?" The blond questioned, his blue eyes following the female as she snatched up her shoes and began to stomp away. "Away from you!" She exclaimed, turning her head to glare at him, before she huffed and walked up the stairwell to the second floor.
There were not surprisingly a lot less people on the second floor, despite the amount of seating. Most of the people that were up there were the ones who were making out or, if she had to guess, the ones who were the designated drivers.
Tossing her shoes onto one of the sofas, she huffed and leaned her elbows against the railing, looking down at the dancing bodies that jammed out to some random love song that caused her to become queasy on the inside.
"That is the twenty-fifth time they have played that song." A calming tone spoke from her left, causing Y/N to glance at the teal haired male, who kept his gaze on the floor below. "They must think that people are too drunk to notice."
"Ya think so?" Y/N asked, running her fingers through her already messed up hair. She had taken the scrunchie out earlier, and now her (H/L) locks were loose and free to roam wherever they wished. "That explains my sudden unease."
"Ah, yes, that must be it." Whipping her head, Y/N narrowed her eyes at Reiji as he stood on her right, leaning his back against the railing as he tossed a dart into the target on the wall across the room.
"If you have something to say, then please do it." She sneered at the brunet. "It's better to get things off of your chest now, especially since there's a good chance that I won't remember tomorrow." She huffed, crossing her arms over her chest.
Reiji paused his movement of throwing another dart, as he glanced at the female and narrowed his eyes at her. "Are you drunk?" He hissed.
Before Y/N could respond, Ai had grabbed her face and tilted it in different directions. "She is seventy-nine percent intoxicated." He announced.
"Don't touch me!" Y/N shouted, smacking his hand away and immediately taking a step away from the two.
"Maybe we should get her home. Ai, can you get a cab? I'll text Kazue that she's on her way." Reiji spoke to the youngest member of Quartet Night, causing Y/N's face to become red.
"Don't speak as if I'm not here! I am here! I'm not invisible anymore!" Y/N shouted, causing the two to stare at her wide eyed.
Tears filled Y/N's eyes, and she immediately began to dash down the stairs, forgetting about her shoes, and she raced out of the bar without looking back.

[Not Spring, Love, or Cherry by IU and High4
Y/N & Ai & Reiji & Camus & Ranmaru]
It looked good during the long winter
Y/N sighed as she leaned her cheek against the cool glass of the cab she had gotten as soon as she exited the club.
The chestnut colored coat
I hid myself inside of it
and quickened my footsteps
But people keep asking,
why are you the only one still like this?
Then I looked around and realized it was spring
As she looked at the neon lights of the city blur by, she propped her feet up on the seat beside her and curled up against the door.
I have no one to hold hands with and walk
Its just too much,
This sweet spring wind
Ai boredly watched the groups that mingled below, his expression seeming unusually grim as he watched everyone seeming to have no worries. No care. As no one suspected that there was anything wrong.
Everyone but me is in love,
singing spring songs
Flowers bloom and sway before my eyes
Y/N got out of the cab at a park, paying the driver with the money she kept in the pocket of her skirt, before she began to stroll through the well lit park.
But I want to hear something else
Something to sweep away everything
Not spring, love or cherry blossoms
Ai took a step away from the railing as soon as Angelica looked up at him. Her usual cheerful gaze turned into a harsh glare, as if she knew what he had done, and the teal haired male accidentally collapsed onto the couch that Y/N had left her heels.
Not spring, love or cherry blossoms
Not spring, love or cherry blossoms
Not spring, love or cherry blossoms
Ai stared at the pair of shoes with a solemn look, before he picked them up and rushed down the steps.
With words that I can't even relate
Stop making me twitch
Even if I make the hard decision to go out
There's nothing really special
Y/N grabbed onto a lamppost and spun around it, throwing her head back as she enjoyed the cool breeze of the outside world. After her third spin, she stumbled forward a bit, but was able to catch herself before she fell onto the harsh ground.
I have no one to hold hands with and walk
It's just too much,
These love songs
Reiji scowled as he tossed another dart into the board, his eyes narrowing in the direction of the stage the floor below as another couple wanted to sing some sort of nauseating duet.
Everyone but me is in love,
singing spring songs
Flowers bloom and sway before my eyes
Y/N tried her best not to glance at the happy couples who were also out in the park at the time.
It was the perfect time and place after all; with the sun completely down and allowing the twinkle lights that were hung from the dimmed lampposts and around a gazebo, and the older couples or parents with their kids had already gone home to rest. It caused Y/N to smile bitterly.
But I want to hear something else
Something to sweep away everything
Not spring, love or cherry blossoms
When Reiji turned to glance at the annoying couple on the stage, he raised an eyebrow as he caught sight of Ai rushing down to the first floor.
As if realizing what the youngest member was doing, Reiji tossed his last dart at the board, before he too went down the steps.
Sing the lyrics to a love song
that is more desperate than anyone else
among all of these couples
Why am I alone
Walking on the same street,
wearing the same clothes as yesterday?
Why is the world changing,
But I'm still the same?
Camus stood up from where he had been sitting the whole time since Y/N left him when he had caught sight of Ai and Reiji, it quite obvious that both males were upset over something. Or, more like, someone.
Just before he could question them both, Reiji made a motion with his head for the blond to follow. In which he did.
There's no need to walk on this
spring road with someone
But there are memories that
anyone would like to have
I want to make those memories,
even the falling cherry blossom petals
They're not the end
but the start of spring
Ranmarou almost choked on his drink when he felt a tug on the back of the collar of his shirt. He growled and turned behind him to glare at the culprit, before his stare intensified when he noticed it was Camus. Ranmarou's breath hitched for a second, though, when he caught sight of Ai holding a familiar pair of shoes.
Actually, I think of the old days these days
Because I miss them just by walking
I'm curious if I could feel those feelings again but
Then you know what
The four members looked around the street as soon as they walked out of the bar. Reiji hailed a cab, and the four climbed in, before giving the driver their destination.
It was a wild guess, but if they knew the female well enough, they knew where she would be.
Everyone but me is in love,
singing spring songs
Flowers bloom and sway before my eyes
Y/N stood in front of a water fountain, her eyes closed as she listened to the water droplets fall into the larger body of the marble structure.
Sighing, she sat down on the edge of the fountain and glanced down at the shimmering water ripples.
But I want to hear something else
It swept away everything
Not spring, love or cherry blossoms
The group hopped out of the cab, Camus paying the driver hurriedly, before he -angrily- caught up with the other three.
Not spring, love or cherry blossoms
Y/N narrowed her eyes when she saw four other figures in the water. As she turned her head, her eyes widened as she gasped.
Not spring, love or cherry blossoms
Reiji looked at the female with an awkward smile, as Ranmarou rubbed the back of his neck, and Camus had his arms crossed as he looked away from the female. Ai kneeled in front of the female, holding up her forgotten shoes.
Not spring, love or cherry blossoms
Not spring, love or cherry blossoms
Y/N smiled softly at the males, unaware of the single Sakura petal that floated between them.
~*~
"How the hell did you guys find me, anyways?" Y/N questioned as the group walked in the direction back to SILQ.
"Despite what you had said earlier, there are some things about you that are the same." Camus stated in a simple manner, his arms still crossed over his chest as he kept a regal expression.
"You always went to the park when you were feeling down or needed inspiration for your songs." Ai added afterwards in a matter-of-fact tone.
Y/N's cheeks brightened a soft pink, and she mentally hoped they didn't notice. "You remembered something as silly as that?" She asked, remarkably shyly, before she cleared her throat. "I would've thought you would have forgotten something so simple by now." She insisted.
"It is hard to forget anything about you." Ranmarou stated, a bit bitterly, but Y/N couldn't help but to smile when she saw his own blush of embarassement.
"Listen, Y/N," the said female stopped as she felt a grip on her shoulders, and she was turned around to look up at the unusual sight of a serious Reiji. "I know that the things that had happened in the past, they weren't right at all. But, I hope, we hope, that you can forgive us for what we had done. Please, let us make up for it." He said.
Y/N gaped at the male, her eyes transitioning to glance at the others, who each almost looked like disciplined children. She then closed her eyes and sighed, placing her hands on Reiji's and forcing them off of her shoulders. "What you guys had done was unforgivable." Y/N stated, tightening her grip on his hands when she felt the brunet attempt to pull away from her. "But, I do believe in second chances." She told them.
The members of Quartet Night glanced at each other, grinning in their own gleeful way, before all five put their attention onto a white vehicle that swerved and parked on their side of the road.
"Kazue?" Y/N blinked in surprise as the door to the limo's passenger door swung open.
"Y/N! Thank God, you're safe!" Kazue exclaimed, picking the female up by the waist and spinning her around.
"Kazue, what's with all the dramatic flare?" Y/N giggled, placing her hands onto his shoulders to keep herself from falling at his sudden hold on her.
"Reiji texted me that you were on your way home. Four hours ago. When you didn't show up, I just knew you must've gone to the park. But when the others got home without Quartet Night, we all got really worried." Kazue explained, putting the female back onto the ground.
"Four hours?" Y/N gawked. Had she really been gone that long?!
"Well, at least you're safe. That's all that matters." Kazue sighed.
"Of course. We told you we'd keep her safe." Ai cut into the couple's moment in his usual monotonous manner.
"Right. Let's get home then." Kazue smiled, moving to the back of the limo and opening the door.
As soon as the group got back to the SILQ, they were surprised to see the others in the lobby, all passed out on the different sofas.
"Maybe we should follow their example and hit the hay." Kazue chuckled, leading Y/N towards the elevator by pressing his hand against the small of her back. "Do you guys mind waking them up and telling them to go to their rooms?" The megane smiled at the four members of Quartet Night.
"Why us?" Ranmarou immediately complained.
"Think of it as a way to start earning back my trust." Y/N stated, before she smirked. "What? Did you think I was gonna make it easy for you?" She questioned. "I'd be careful with waking up Angelica, she's not a happy riser." She advised, just as the elevator doors closed between the smirking couple and the flabbergasted males.
