The Near Downfall of Dante
Previously on Little O'Connor...
"Let's just get back to the plan." She mumbles. Roman clears his throat as Brian walks into the bunker. "Sorry I'm late." He pauses looking at Sarah's bloody knuckles as she's wiping them with a rag Tej tossed to her. "Don't ask." She says looking at him. "Okay, so the plan." Brian says walking over with a map. "We now know where Dante is hiding and has his set up, thanks to Ramsey." Ramsey nods at him. "I say we start here." Sarah says pointing at Los Angeles. "Dante is unpredictable, right? But he knows we will choose to go head-on. So, why not trick him, and be unpredictable ourselves." I nod impressed by the idea. "We play his game." I say as she nods in agreement. "Clubs and bars are places he would choose to go to party." She says circling the bars and clubs on the map near the location. "And where are the most exclusive bars and clubs?" She says looking at the team. "Los Angeles." Brian says. "Exactly, he expects us to go to Irvine." Roman nods.

Sarah sits watching Carter make some lunch for her, Han, and himself. "This is a traditional English lunch." Carter says placing the plates down in front of them. "Roast beef with Yorkshire pudding." Sarah watches eagerly as he pours the gravy on top for her. "This looks amazing!" She exclaims grabbing her fork and knife. Han takes a bite and nods in approval. "Well damn, Alvarez!" Carter chuckles taking a seat and watches as Sarah takes her first bite. She groans, leaning back in her chair and closing her eyes in delight. "Carter...I will literally have you make this every week now." Her phone rings as she's about to take another bite.
"Hey Bri, What's up?" Carter watches her upbeat expression get replaced with a serious one. "Tonight?" She looks at Carter and Han. "Are you sure?" She sighs slightly nervous. "Okay, we'll be ready. I love you." She hangs up and looks at them. "The plan initiates tonight." Han tenses slightly at the news. "Are you sure we're ready?" Carter sighs. "I don't know...but it's s chance we have to take. It's only a matter of time before he discovers the bunker." Sarah clears her throat. Her hands were now shaky from the anxiety and fear pulsing through her veins.
Carter's POV
I watched Sarah's hand tremble slightly as she spoons another bite into her mouth at lunch earlier. We were all on edge of the idea of finally taking on Dante tonight. I sat on the edge of the bed waiting for her to come back from getting extra supplies. She enters the room dropping the bag and remaining dead silent. "My love, come here." I hold my hand out for her. She takes it as I have her stand in between my legs. "Whatever happens tonight..." She starts off finally looking at me in my eyes. "You promise me you will run in the other direction. You will move on." I look at her in shock. "Baby, we are going to this together." She sighs. "Carter, this is a war. Dante is capable of anything." I shake my head. "When the time comes we will see then." She caresses my cheeks in her hand as if she's taking in my face one last time. "No goodbyes." I whisper pulling her closer to me to rest my forehead on hers. "We will always come back to each other. I know we will." Sarah smiles lightly.
She kisses me softly and slowly. I pull her into my lap deepening the kiss. We keep ourselves from pulling away as if we are holding on to each other one last time. Truth is I was afraid, afraid of what will happen. I wanted to keep her close and protect her. I wanted to get away from all of this. Take her someplace safe. But that wasn't an option. Dante would find us no matter how fast or far we run. We pull away from the kiss when we are interrupted by Han. "Sorry...Carter your guys are here." I sigh as Sarah gets up. "Is it already almost time?" She nods looking at the time. "You should go get ready." She says as I walk out.
I put on my suit and walk out to greet my men. Jesse nods at me. "Hey boss..." He smiles lightly, worries evident in his eyes. "Everything is ready?" Zack nods holding out the earpieces we would need to communicate. We all get into a deep conversation about the plan that we don't notice Sarah walk out. Jesse pauses in the middle of his statement. "Woah..." I furrow my brow confused and look behind me. My breath gets caught in my throat as I fall in love all over again with this woman. There she was standing there in a full black dress. Her leg was exposed, her neckline so deep you could see part of her cleavage. The dress hugged her waist but was flowing to her ankles. "You boys ready?" She says as she holsters her gun and knife in the holster on her leg. We all stand there speechless. Jesse nods slightly in response. "Okay good." I notice her solemn expression as she walks over to me. "We are all taking separate cars." She hands us the keys to each vehicle. Han and Giselle enter grabbing their things.
Jesse walks over to Sarah with concern in his eyes. "We'll make you and Carter get out safely." Sarah smiles at him slightly. "We all...get out safely. We will abort the mission if it takes a turn for the worse." Jesse nods slightly. "Let's go."
We all get in our vehicles and start driving to the Sinner. We try to keep up with Sarah's speed. "Alright team. We all remember our positions?" Her voice comes through the walkies in the cars. "Got it." Han says immediately. "Good. Remain in your positions, keep an eye out for Reyes." We pull up to the club, letting the Valet park. I rush over to Sarah and take her hand as she gets out of the car. "You look beautiful." I smile lightly as I lead her inside. "You look handsome." She whispers trying to give me some energy. We walk up the steps to one of the private booths to claim our position. I sit her down in my lap after we order drinks so we don't look like we are sticking out constantly scanning the Club. "Do you think he will show up here?" She asks taking a sip of her champagne. Just then Brian's voice comes through our earpieces. "He's coming towards the Sinner...the rest of the team is on their way there to stand by before the attack." Sarah takes a deep breath. "Thanks Brian."
"There he is, he's heading to the bar." Sarah gets up fixing her dress. "So we make our way to the dance floor." She says. "The crowd will keep us hidden and close to him." I nod following her down the steps. Jesse and Zack make their way into the crowd as well. Sarah takes a deep breath turning towards me. "It's okay." I tuck her hair behind her ear. "We got this." She nods at my reassurance as I slowly sway with her. She's tense and on high alert the whole time. Jesse walks over to us. "He's going to make his way here soon I think." Jesse says standing behind her dancing slightly as if to shield her from being seen. Jesse looks at me a little signaling me to move ahead. "I got her. You move forward." Sarah stops and looks at him. "Wait what?" I let go of her hand slowly. "It's okay. I'll be up ahead." She tries to grab onto my hand and Jesse holds her back. "We're supposed to stay together." Her voice comes out panicked. I move ahead closer to Dante leaving her behind.
Sarah's POV
I see him disappear into the crowd. "No..." I whisper as Jesse holds me in place. "Sarah." He spins me towards him. "He'll be fine. We need to get you out of his sight." I shake my head. "This was not my plan." I struggle against his hold. He grabs my face and makes me look at him. "It wasn't. I know. but Dante is coming onto this dance floor any minute." He slowly threads my hand in his and pulls me with him. "Carter will be fine. Once he gives us the signal we will attack together." Jesse sighs turning towards me once we are away from Dante's sight line. He keeps me close to him. His hold is nothing like Carter's, although it's warm and gentle, I find myself not relaxing. "Deep breaths Sarah." I nod slightly. "We just wait for the signal now." He smiles lightly.
Jesse slowly caresses my cheek. "You truly are beautiful...Carter is lucky. He deserves you." He presses a small kiss on my head. "He wants to protect you. So do I, even if you aren't mine." I look at him nodding in appreciation. Carter's voice comes through. "He spotted me! Now! Attack now!" Jesse and I quickly get our guns out and rush over into the crowd. Jesse and I get separated. "RUN!!" I hear people screaming as they start to scatter out from the sound of shots, pushing me as they go. I go toward the shots. "Carter!" I yell out looking around. "CARTER!" I yell louder over the screams.
I spot him and relax and start to rush over to him. I feel myself being picked up off the floor all of a sudden in a tight grip. "There you are!" Dante says holding me up. "CARTER!!! RUN!!!" I scream towards him. He spins around and his eyes widen seeing Dante. I struggle against him and kick him in the balls, making his grip falter, causing him to drop me hard on the ground. "Bitch!" He growls trying to grab me again before Jesse takes a crowbar to his head. "Picking on pretty girls will get you nowhere!" Jesse says standing in defense mode in front of me. I grab my gun and point it at Dante. "What you thought I'd come unprepared?" I smirk slightly. "Mmm. No, but I also haven't come unprepared either pet." Jesse lunges at him as his men run toward us. I start to shoot them down. Carter tries to rush to me but the men start to swarm around him barricading him from me. Han and Gisele are fighting on their end. Dante stumbles back from a few blows that Jesse delivered. Dante smirks at me slightly. I look at him confused before turning around to see one of his men charging at me. "SARAH! NO!" Jesse tackles me, knocking me down before I hear flesh being penetrated. But it's not mine. Jesse looks at me as blood drips from his mouth. "Hey, beautiful..." He smiles lightly through the pain. I look at his back seeing the large blade. "Jesse.." He slowly caresses my cheek. "I promised nothing would happen to you. I promised...Carter and I made...a silent promise to you." I shake my head. "No no. Stay with me." I sit up quickly removing the blade and holding him as Dante runs off to recover. "Stay with us! Come on Jess." He winces a little.
"Do me a favor beautiful...do me a favor and kill that son a bitch...for me. If anyone can do it...it's you." He smiles slightly. I nod removing his hair from his face and running my hand through it in hopes to take his mind off the pain. "I promise..." He chuckles. "This is exactly how I imagined goin' out protecting my best friend and fighting alongside him." He looks at me as his eyes droop slightly. "Can I ask you for one more thing?" I nod sniffling. "Just give me one kiss?" A tear drops from his left eye. "Just one." Carter stands behind me before falling to the ground. "Just one kiss beautiful." He whispers. I look at Carter. He nods at me lightly. I lean down slowly. "I promise you I will kill him. I will make him suffer." I sniffle caressing his face before placing a kiss on his slightly warm lip. He kisses back softly smiling a little. I pull away looking at him. "Amazing, just as I thought...Thank you..." He breathes out before going limp. Carter stays silent looking at the body of his childhood friend. I slowly lay Jesse down before getting up. I see Dante's blood trail and tighten my grip on my gun. Before I know it I'm sprinting following the trail, rage flowing throw my veins.
"WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU COWARD?!" I yell out. I keep running, pushing myself to sprint faster. I stop when I see him leaning against a wall clutching his side. "He was a cute guy. I wanted to keep him around but..." He shrugs. "He just had to save you." He smiles. "At least I have you my pet." I growl and take my shot at him, but even injured he's quick. He dodges most of my shots before a bullet hits the leg I aimed at. He yelps falling to his knee. I walk up to him getting ready to shoot his head. "For Jesse." Dante looks at me with no emotions in his eyes. I start to pull the trigger before I get hit in the head. "Sorry, Sarah." I hold my head slightly disoriented and turn to look at the person with the familiar voice. "Zack?" He shrugs. "The one and only." Dante laughs. "I told you I was always prepared. Zack here told me your whole scheme." Dante gets up using the wall as support. I quickly side-sweep Zack causing him to fall on his face. He grumbles getting up. I land a quick punch at him. "How could you?!" I yell. He chuckles. "Oh love, I was never a friend. Carter hired me so fast...entrusting me." He smirks as we circle around. "I had hacked the systems to make sure my records were clean, making it as if I came from a high power Mob family." I lunge at him but he lands a kick to my abdomen. "Stupid girl, naïve." I growl quickly dodging his kick. I grab his leg and bring him down. He manages to kick my face toppling me over. "Now now Zack. I want her alive..." Dante says smirking. "God, that dress makes me want to do unimaginable things to you." Dante licks his lips. "I will kill her after I make her beg for death." Zack smirks raising his foot to knock me out. I manage to grab my gun and take a shot at him. He screams in pain toppling over.
"Sarah!" Carter runs over. "Carter...Dante! He's getting away!" I point at Dante as his men help him onto the roof. Carter runs over to catch up to him. Zack laughs. "You're no match for him." He looks at me tilting his head. "You're just gonna be his little toy before he disposes you." Zack groans slightly holding his abdomen. I stumble up and point my gun at his head. "Screw you asshole." His eyes widen as I take the shot. I hear footsteps run over as I look over at Dante whose men manage to get him to the helicopter. He blows me a kiss, winking. I mentally gag. Carter throws his gun on the floor watching them fly away. I feel Giselle's hand on my shoulder. "I could have gotten him!!!" I look at Zack's body. "He just had to come in the way!" I yell running my hand through my hair frustrated.
"Sarah...you're bleeding." Giselle says touching my head slightly, making me wince. "I'm fine." My voice cracks. "We lost a good one today". I mumble as Han comes over, pulling me into a hug. "I made him a promise...we will get Dante...if it's the last thing I do." Carter walks over looking at me. "I will destroy him, I will destroy him and everything he loves." Giselle looks at Han a little scared by my statement. "I will make sure to take everything from him before I take his life." Carter comes over slowly and takes my face in his hands. "I promise you and I promised Jesse. I will avenge your best friend." Carter kisses my forehead. "We will together as a team...right now let's go home." He whispers.
Carter's POV
I look at the girl in front of me. Her eyes are full of hate and rage for Dante. "Sarah...let's go home." Han says taking Giselle's hand. I look over at the body of my supposed mafia member. "I should have been thorough. He betrayed us." I mumble. "He was working with him the whole time." Sarah growls. "He was never a friend." I look over at her taking her hand as we start to walk to our cars. I stop when I notice blood dripping from her head. "Sarah..." I panic touching the back of her head. I pull my hand back. "Fuck." I huff looking at her blood covering my hand. "I'll be fine." She mumbles as I pick her up.
I get her to my car and set her down gently in the passenger seat. I follow Han and Giselle back to the bunker. Sarah remains quiet. I steal glances her way to make sure she is conscious. She's looking at her lap emotionless. It scares me. The way she said she would destroy Dante, I know it wasn't a lie. The look of determination in her eyes when she spoke about it. Han had made sure Jesse's body was taken to the morgue. My best friend was gone. The man I grew up with, that put up with my shit. My right-hand man died to protect the love of my life, like he promised. I knew he fancied her as well. I knew he would protect her no matter what because of his love for her as well. I smile to myself thinking of how he would make me jealous on purpose, Sarah oblivious to the fact he was also fond of her. Sarah was adamant to take Dante down and I was ready to do so with her to avenge him.
I park the car outside and help Sarah into the Bunker. I sit her down on the infirmary bed as Giselle comes in to patch her up. Sarah sits quietly looking at me as I strip my dress shirt off wincing. I watch as Giselle patches Sarah up. "Surprisingly no staples needed." She says wrapping her head. Sarah gets down and comes over to me examining my torso. "I can handle him." She says quietly. Giselle nods a little before walking out. Sarah gently starts to clean up the slash on the side of my abdomen. She finishes up and stands back up. I finally notice the tears running down her face. "Sare..." I grab her face. She looks at me holding back a sob. "I'm sorry Carter, I'm so sorry." She finally breaks down letting her sobs out. "Jesse...I'm so sorry." I just hug her close to me. She's blaming herself. "Jesse dying was not your fault." I let her sob into my chest. "He was following my instructions. He was protecting you because he vowed to me he would." I whisper holding her close to me. "He cared for you. He would have done so either way." I pick her up and carry her out of the infirmary, letting her cry in my arms. Han looks at me worried when he hears her cries. I nod at him letting him know it's okay.
I carry her to my room and set her down on the bed. I unzip her dress and gently remove it. I grab one of my T-shirts and slip it over her. "Baby, please stop crying." I kneel down in front of her, wiping all her tears. She caresses my face and wipes away a stray tear I hadn't noticed that fell. "I love you." She whispers. "I love you so damn much. It hurts." I kiss her all over her face. "I love you too." I lay her down. "Get some rest. I'll bring you some painkillers and some food." She keeps a grip on my hand. "I'll be back, I'm not going anywhere." She nods kissing my hand before letting it go.
I head out to the kitchen to see Brian standing there looking down at his feet. His head shoots up when he hears me enter. "How is she?" I sigh. "She'll be okay, she's hell-bent on finding Dante and ending him. She quote on quote said she wants to destroy him." Brian rubs his head. "We all do...Zack messed with the communicators. I was trying to warn you guys but I couldn't reach you." I place a hand on his shoulder. "I'm sorry about Jesse...but trust me Dante is going to pay. Once an O'Connor is hooked on finding someone and bringing justice, we do it." I smile at him slightly. "Thank you. The Mafia is the same way." I sigh sitting down with my head in my hands. "I just...I just need Sarah to be okay." I fight the tears building up. "I was so scared I was going to lose her tonight. Jesse kept her safe." Brian sits next to me. "She's blaming herself, isn't she?" I nod.
"After Dimitri died...she kept blaming herself. She had locked herself out completely." Brian swallows as tears start to form in his eyes. "I blamed myself for not being able to protect her myself, and keep Dimitri safe as well." His glossy eyes look at me. "I understand your need to protect and I want to thank you Carter." I nod in response. "You remind me of him a little. Dimitri." Brian chuckles lightly. "He was a good kid, I gave him a hard time since he was dating my little sister." I smile a little as he passes me a beer. "Did you know she bought the wedding dress before he passed?" I look at him with my mouth open. "I...no, she didn't tell me." he nods. "She keeps it in her closet, but never looks at it, never touches it." Brian takes a long swig of his drink. "She looked so beautiful when she first tried it on at the bridal shop. She was so excited she called Dimitri and told him she finally found one, and he was so curious. He never got to see it." He finally lets out a teardrop as he looks at me.
"I want to be able to see my baby girl get married in the future." I listen quietly. "But, I know right now she needs your support and comfort to help her even consider marriage ever again." I let out a breath. "I will provide that. I promise." He pats my shoulder getting up. "Thank you."
I grab some snacks and painkillers for Sarah and head back to the bedroom. I sit on the edge of the bed, slowly running my hand through her hair to wake her up gently. Her eyes shoot open and she looks at me. "Sorry..." She sits up quickly. "I didn't mean to fall asleep." I chuckle lightly shaking my head. "It's okay." She looks at the small plate of snacks as I hand it to her. She grabs a strawberry and starts to eat quietly. "Good?" She nods at me trying to give me her best smile. I watch her eat everything before finally giving her the pain meds. "Thank you." She whispers taking my hand in hers. "Carter, did you know Jesse felt for me?" I sigh looking at her before nodding. "I thought all this time he was messing with you." She chuckles lightly. I lay next to her, bringing her into my chest. "I wish he finds his person up there." She says quietly hiding her face in the nape of my neck, taking a deep breath. "You're my person." She says looking up at me. "And you're mine." I kiss her head, holding her close.
***
3 days later...
Today is the day.
Everyone remains quiet as the priest prays near his coffin. My best friend's coffin. My men, as well as other Mafia groups, gathered here with us today along with Sarah's family and team. Liam holds Sophia close to him as a way of comfort for him. Jesse, Liam, and I all grew up together. It broke him when he heard the news about our fallen best friend. Sarah has been more distant and dead set on finding Dante. The next day after our plan failed, I found her in the office doing research. She refused to leave the office for hours.
I look over to the girl next to me keeping a gentle grip on her hand. She stares at the coffin, her eyes glossy from holding back tears and trying to keep her composure for my sake. "Would anyone like to say a few words for Jesse?" The priest asks. I take a deep breath as I stand up. I reluctantly let go of Sarah's hand and walk forward. I clear my throat looking at everyone who gathered. "You all may know Jesse Cooper as a member of our group, a brave soldier, a fighter who always completed his job..." I start off trying to keep my composure.
"For me, I knew Jesse as more than that. Jesse was my right-hand man, the man that kept me in control before I spiraled into a monster. Jesse, Liam, and I were, as they say, three peas in a pod. He was my best friend, my brother." My voice cracks slightly. Sarah's head shoots up looking at me. "Jesse's death was not in vain, he followed his heart and also my orders. He protected someone that was precious to him, as well as precious to me." I look at her straight in her eyes, finding myself relaxed as I gazed at her. "Jesse died bravely, just like he always imagined he would. Just like he would tell Liam and me, how he imagined he would go down, fighting." I chuckle slightly. "I guess we just never thought it would become a reality. Today we gather here, not to just mourn, but to honor one of our best. A brother, a soldier, a fine gentleman. I ask you to respect his wishes and continue to remember the memories we created with him." I nod slightly. "Thank you." I walk over to his coffin placing a hand on top. "Till we meet again brother." I whisper as Sarah rests her hand on my soldier. I turn towards her and she immediately wraps her arms around me, burying her face into my chest. I hug her back tightly. "My beautiful flower." I whisper kissing her head.
Everyone starts to leave slowly. Sarah stands back waiting for me patiently as I stand at Jesse's grave. Liam comes over and puts his arm around my soldier. "Guess it's just you and me brother." I shake my head. "He will always be with us." I look at him. "I'll see you soon." Liam says giving me a brotherly hug before he leaves. I sit down in the grass trying to come to terms with him being gone. I feel Sarah's presence behind me as she comes to my side after a while and sits down next to me, resting her head on my shoulder. I rest my cheek on her head sighing. "Take all the time you need." She says rubbing my back before getting up. "I'll give you some space." She smiles lightly before walking off to a different part of the cemetery. "Thank you, Jesse...for everything." I whisper as if he can hear me.
I sit there for a while longer. I start to notice the sun starting to set and get up looking around for Sarah. "Where did she go?" I mumble following the path she took off on. I start walking to a completely different area looking for her when I spot her now dirty blonde hair. her back turned against me, sitting at a grave. I walk closer to read the name. 'Dimitri James Salazar', Loving brother, fiancé, the Wolf.' Sarah doesn't seem to notice me as I stand behind her, but to my surprise, she speaks up. "You know, when we first buried him, I stayed here for hours." She smiles lightly placing a flower in that little holder on his grave. "I fell asleep here that day. I couldn't bring myself to believe he was gone, so I thought if I slept here, I would wake up from that nightmare." She stands up and takes my hand as I come to stand next to her. "There would be days Brian would come and pick my sleeping body up and take me home. It went on for months." She looks at me. "Death is a fickle thing, isn't it? You never know when it will come. But I guess that's why we live a life full of adrenaline." I nod. "I wanted to give you your space, just like the others gave me when I needed it." I kiss her head. "Thank you, I think I'm ready to go home." She nods as I take her hand in mine and lead her out to my car.
As soon we get to the bunker, Sarah heads off to her office. "That girl is determined." Han says handing me two plates. "One for you and for Sarah." I nod looking down at the food. He made steak and mash. "She needs to take a break." Han claims before I head towards the office. I push the door open to see Sarah's eyes glued to the computer, typing away. She stops and looks over at me. "I bought you Dinner." She sighs leaning back in her chair as I place it down in front of her, pulling up a chair for myself, taking a seat next to her. "I tried every database, Ramsey has had no luck either." She mumbles poking at the steak. I swivel her chair towards me, quickly turning the screen of the computer off. "Carter.." I shake my head and give her a severe look, making her close her mouth. "We will find him. I have my men working on it as well. You need to take a break, because all I want right now is my girlfriend and to spend time with her." I pick up her plate making a perfect bite for her. "Now eat." She reluctantly complies and takes the bite, taking the plate from me.
"Fuck, I'm so sorry Carter, I've been so engulfed in the idea of finding him that I haven't been there for you." She rubs my leg apologetically. I smile taking a bite of my food. "It's okay my love." She starts to eat her food quickly. "I didn't realize how hungry I was." She says swallowing her bite. "Did I eat this morning?" She asks herself, furrowing her brows as she tries to remember. "Shit I didn't." I look at her in disbelief. "You went the whole day without breakfast and lunch?" She gives me a nervous grin. "I may or may not have drowned myself into working on finding Dante before the Funeral." I sigh putting my plate down. "Sarah, you're neglecting yourself." She takes her last bite looking at me. "I know...I know. I promise I will try to eat all three meals." She smiles lightly. I get up and pull her with me to put away our dishes. "You are not going into that office for a while." She gasps as I pick her up, she quickly wraps her legs around my waist as I carry her to the living room couch to sit with Han and Giselle. "Hey, look who decided to show her face for more than just 30 minutes." Giselle teases her. Sarah huffs crossing her arms.
Giselle and Sarah talk away, catching on to the years they missed together. Han sighs in content looking over at the two girls. "It's refreshing to see Sarah perk up a bit." He says drinking his beer. "It's a relief." I breathe out watching her completely focused on her conversation with Giselle. "How are you?" Han asks. I shrug. "I'm hanging in there, she keeps me sane." I mumble. "I get that. When I thought Giselle was dead...I lost myself completely, I ended up leaving and going to Tokyo." He looks over at Giselle. "Now she's here again. It's like I was given a second chance." I look at Sarah. "Do you think I may be Sarah's second chance?" I ask quietly. Han sighs. "I think you were bought here due to faith." I look over to see him smiling at me. "A little secret...Dimitri always said he would pray that if he was ever to go down, that Sarah would find someone that loved her equally or more than him." He whispers so only I can hear. "I think Dimitri's faith bought you here." He leans back looking at me with a stunned reaction. "What? You don't believe in faith?" He chuckles lightly. I just nod. "I'm not much of a believer, Jesse on the other hand was." I smile lightly. "Sometimes I think Jesse may have been right for her?" I mumble.
Han looks at me intrigued by what I was saying. "Why do you think that?"
"Because, he cared for her even if it was silently admiring her from afar, because she took a liking to me." I sigh. "What if I got in the way?" Han chuckles shaking his head. "Wow, you doubt faith that much?" I shrug. "I wasn't necessarily bought up to believe in faith. My father took that away from me." Han sighed. "Well, I think you should give it some thought and just think about how you met and how you landed where you are now." He says getting up as Giselle gets up.
"I'll see you tomorrow Han." She smiles at him. "It's late. You can't stay?" Giselle shakes her head. "Not with Letty watching Cipher. I need to make sure they're both alive and not beating on each other." She chuckles as she leaves. Sarah huffs at the name of that murderer. I rub her back lightly. "Did you want me to stay with you?" She asks as I walk to my bedroom door, holding her hand. I just pull her inside and she giggles lightly. "I'm guessing that's a yes." I just hold her face in my hands. "It's never a no Flower." Her cheeks flush lightly at the new nickname. "Carter, how many nicknames will you come up with for me?" She breathes out helping me unbutton my dress shirt. "Forever..." Her eyes shoot back up to look at me. "Carter." She mumbles slightly. "Please don't promise that." She looks away as she walks behind me to help me remove my shirt. I watch her gently place it into the hamper. "It's a vow.." I whisper loud enough for her to hear. I walk over to her and slam my lips to hers gently. She's taken by surprise but eventually, her hands travel up my bare chest before wrapping her arms around my neck. She kisses back softly as our tongues marry. I pick her up and take her over to the bed. Sitting on the edge, making her straddle me. I pull away nuzzling my nose against hers as she recovers from the fiery kiss we just shared.
"It's a vow I make to you." I breathe out against her lips. "You'll always be my Tiger, my flower, and all the nicknames I call you." Sarah chuckles lightly. "Carter Alvarez, the Mafia's most cheesy man." I smirk as she kisses the corner of my lip. I fall to lay flat on my back and pull her with me, making her lay against my chest. "I love you Carter."
Sarah falls asleep rather quickly against my bare chest. I reluctantly moved her to my side and got up to remove my pants. Sarah stirs lightly at the loss of body heat. Rather than putting on sweats, I quickly slid back into the bed to not wake my sleeping girlfriend. She settles back to sleep once I wrap my arms around her again. Her breath lightly hits my neck as she nuzzles her face into the nape. I sigh laying there lost in my thought before sleep consumes me as well.
