Choreography 6: Black Feathers of the Broken
[A/N: So I found out that the guys are 18. I thought they were 16 or 17, but I was terribly wrong. Anyways, I'm having it that Ritsuka is in her second year, while Y/N and the guys are in third year. Bye~]
-Shikō Academy-
Y/N stared at the black board in concentration as her history teacher went on a large spiel about Japanese Legends. History was one of her favorite subjects, so it was never unusual to see the (H/C) pay such close attention to what her teacher taught.
Her attention was then brought to something different as she felt a sharp feeling in her back. Turning her head, she narrowed her eyes as she stared at a smirking Shiki.
"Don't poke me with scissors." She scolded him quietly.
When he didn't give a response, she sighed and turned back around in her seat. Once more, she felt the point of the scissors poking into her back. It wasn't hard enough to pierce her skin or uniform, but it certainly left a numbing pain.
"Shiki, stop." She ordered him quietly, so as to not bring attention to them.
"Hmm...? Do you not like pain?" He asked, as if surprised. His expression then turned to one of sympathy. "Poor thing."
"Miss L/N, is there a problem?" The teacher's voice caused the (H/C) to jump and turn back in her seat to look at the teacher, who was staring at her with the other students snickering.
"N-no. Nothing's wrong, Sensei!" Y/N assured enthusiastically, giving her usual cheerful smile. She was getting along so well with these devilish males, more or less, and she didn't want to disrupt that because one masochist fallen angel wanted to test her patience.
"Then please face forward. You might be the Student Council President and my best student, but I will not hesitate to send you to the principal's office." The teacher scolded.
"Hai, Sensei!" Y/N cheered with a nod.
Sighing, the teacher began to teach once more.
Y/N growled softly as she felt the poking in her back once more. This time, though, it hurt as the metal made its way through her blazer and dress shirt and managed to scratch her skin.
"So now we'll be doing a project! You and a partner will be creating an essay and a diorama on a Legend of your choosing." Y/N beamed and her eyes immediately locked on Shi, who was looking back at her with the same determined expression. "And before you say anything, I will be assigning partners." All at once, the students groaned.
Y/N sighed, but continued to look positive as the teacher called out names.
"L/N Y/N and Natsumezaka Shiki." With those words spoken, the (H/C) could feel her positivity deflate.
Just great...
-Library #3/Student Council Room-3 Days Later-
It was calming in the Student Council room. Rem had gone out to search the location for the Nami Key with Ritsuka, which Y/N was reluctant to let them, but when Shi offered to go with them she couldn't say no. Mage was reading a stack of Korean dating magazines Y/N had brought for him when finding out he liked taking the questionnaires they had in them, a secret between the two. And Urie was staring at Y/N with a flirtatious grin, which she ignored.
"So what legend should we do? There's so many..." Y/N mumbled as she gazed over the three page list the teacher had handed out.
When getting no response, the young she-wolf huffed and looked across the large table to see Shiki throwing Roen up and down in his dog form. The poor hell hound looking terrified like any chihuahua would in his position.
"Oi! Stop terrorizing Cerberus and pay attention!" Y/N exclaimed, slamming her hands on the table.
Shiki paused, holding Roen up as he shook like the scared chihuahua he took form of. "I don't wanna." Shiki bluntly replied, a hint of rebellion in his eyes, before he began tossing Roen up once more.
"Oh dear." Urie smirked, causing Mage to glance up from his magazine, both watching as Y/N stood up and stomped to Shiki's side of the table and smacked him.
"That's no way to treat a team member, first of all." Y/N began, taking Roen from the purple haired male and placing him onto the ground and watching him stumble away as if he were drugged. "Second of all, you should show more respect to your leader!" She snapped at him.
Shiki, cheeks stained pink in a mixture of where she had hit him, as well as a blush covering his porcelain skin, and he smirked at her. "But you're not our leader~ Not really. You're not even a princess either. So you have no authority over me." He taunted.
Y/N's blood began to boil, and Shiki watched in amusement as her (E/C) irises flashed a dangerous gold color and she raised her hand once more.
Though, instead of hitting him like expected, she dug her nails into the palm of her hand and glared at him. "You know what? I tried thinking we could all get along, but I guess that's just how naïve I am." She bitterly laughed, turning on her heel and stomping towards the doors.
"Where are you going?" Mage asked, looking just slightly startled by the female's movements.
"Away from here!" Y/N shouted, slamming the doors behind her with a loud bang that rattled the table.
"She's certainly different than Butterfly." Urie sighed with a grin, rolling the stem of the rose he always carried between his fingers. "She's more like the stem of a rose than the soft petals, don't you think? Take away those thorns and it's easy to snap." He stated, snapping the green stem in half easily.
Mage's lips turned into a thin line. "This isn't my problem." He grumbled to himself, picking the magazine back up and reading it.
Shiki pouted, having his toy run off like that was certainly disappointing. He'd rather her hurting him then herself. At that thought, his eyes gazed at where she had been standing, where a few drops of her blood had fallen.
Sighing in annoyment, he stood up.
"Oh? Are you going to go make up with our little Lynx?" Urie grinned as he eyed the fallen angel.
"Of course not." Shiki yawned, before disappearing in a cloud of smoke.
___Quick Time Skip___
Y/N yawned as she walked down the halls of the school, a towel draped over her shoulders and a water bottle in her hand.
As usual, the (H/C) had gone to the school gym to release her stress. There was no better way than punching a bag and getting bruised knuckles. At least in her view.
The female suddenly stopped walking when she smelt the strong fumes of paint. Narrowing her eyes, she followed the scent in suspicion. It was just after sundown, who'd remain in the building other than herself?
Eventually she stopped at a door which read 'Art Room #2', causing her to suck in a breath of air in surprise. She remembered hearing a rumor about a ghost that haunted this art room. Most wouldn't believe in ghosts, but being a werewolf didn't make her a nonbeliever, and she was absolutely horrified when it came to ghosts. Because of this fear, she hesitated in turning the knob on the door.
Ghosts can't hurt me. Ghosts can't hurt me. She repeated the words Shi always told her when they watched scary movies in her mind.
Unfortunately for her, a surprised shriek escaped from her when the door suddenly swung open and she was pulled into the room, causing her to drop her towel and bottle.
"I can smell your fear from the other side of the door." A familiar voice said, causing Y/N's eyes to widen, before she bit the hand that had been covering her mouth and pulled out of his grip, pressing her back against the closed door as she glared at the orange eyed male.
"You bastard! You're the rumored ghost?!" She shouted, pointing at him accusedly.
Shiki stared at her with slight amusement, wiping the slobber from her bite on his uniform pants. "I'm not a ghost." He said.
"I know you're not!" Y/N huffed, crossing her arms around her middle as she hugged herself. Hopefully she could calm her racing heart.
Shiki snickered, before sitting on the stool that he had before Y/N had shown up. It was then that Y/N noticed that he was shirtless...and his black wings were stretched out.
"Wow..." Y/N whispered in awe, looking at how the sunset from the window reflected off the shiny black feathers.
"Hmm...?" Shiki boredly hummed, once more placing his focus on what he was doing.
"I've never seen an angel's wings before." Y/N said, causing Shiki to tense. Without thinking, she brushed her fingers over one of the black wings, looking hypnotized by the softness of the down feathers. Noticing how Shiki shuddered, she immediately pulled her hand to her chest. "I'm sorry, did that hurt?" She asked him, sounding sympathetic for someone who had slapped him hours before.
"No..." Shiki muttered in reply.
It became eerily quiet, Y/N awkwardly hopping from one foot to the other, while Shiki seemed deep in thought.
"Well, I guess I better go see if Shi has returned-" Y/N began to turn back to the door, before feeling a harsh hold on her wrist.
"Can I...see your ears? It's only fair after all." Shiki stated, cheeks tinted pink.
Y/N's own cheeks turned a bright hue, looking uncomfortable. "I don't know...I don't..." She tried to make up an excuse, but seeing the harsh expression that the fallen angel was wearing, she hesitantly slipped the (F/C) beanie off of her head, revealing her snow white colored wolf ears, which twitched anxiously.
Shiki grinned as he reached out his hands and pulled at her ears, causing her to flinch in pain.
"That's why I have them covered." Y/N growled, smacking his hands away and forcing her beanie back onto her head.
"That's not why." Shiki stated, his orange eyes shining like he knew something.
"How would you know?" Y/N huffed, remembering why she had gotten so pissed off with him earlier.
"Because you're like me." Shiki responded, smirking as he began to circle her form like a wolf to a rabbit. The irony in that. "An outcast to your own species where you felt important, loved even. Only to be thrown out like a piece of trash." He said, standing in front of the female, before taking the headpiece off her head once more, tossing it aside. "And with a feature that reminds you of what you really are."
Y/N's lips trembled, though her eyes narrowed as she scoffed and turned her back to him.

[Song: Stand by You - Rachel Platten - Megan Nicole, Alex Goot, Kurt Hugo Schneider.
Y/N | Shiki | Both ]
Hands, put your empty hands in mine
And scars, show me all the scars you hide
And hey, if your wings are broken
Please take mine so yours can open, too
'Cause I'm gonna stand by you
Shiki placed his hands tightly on Y/N's shoulders and spinning her around, causing her to glare at him. Though, her gaze softened when seeing his sincere expression. She put her hands onto his own, and tilted her head slightly.
Oh, tears make kaleidoscopes in your eyes
And hurt, I know you're hurting, but so am I
And, love, if your wings are broken
Borrow mine 'til yours can open, too
'Cause I'm gonna stand by you
Y/N shook her head, tearing her gaze away from his orange irises as if remembering who he was, and walked out of the art room quickly after shaking off his hold on her.
Even if we're breaking down, we can find a way to break through
Even if we can't find heaven, I'll walk through Hell with you
Love, you're not alone, 'cause I'm gonna stand by you
Even if we can't find heaven, I'm gonna stand by you
Even if we can't find heaven, I'll walk through Hell with you
Shiki looked surprised at her sudden movements, before he quickly followed after her.
Love, you're not alone, 'cause I'm gonna stand by you
Yeah, you're all I never knew I needed
And the heart-sometimes it's unclear why it's beating
Y/N, noticing that the fallen angel was following her, quickly dodged into an abandoned classroom.
And, love, if your wings are broken
We can brave through those emotions, too
'Cause I'm gonna stand by you
She quickly slammed the door behind her and locked it, before pressing her back to it.
Oh, truth-I guess truth is what you believe in
Shiki placed both of his hands on the door as soon as she slammed it shut, scowling. Sighing, he turned his back to the door and sat.
And faith-I think faith is having a reason
And I know now, love, if your wings are broken
Borrow mine 'til yours can open, too
'Cause I'm gonna stand by you
Y/N bit her lower lip to keep it from trembling, it was the only way to keep her from crying. After all, everything Shiki had said was true.
Even if we're breaking down, we can find a way to break through
Even if we can't find heaven, I'll walk through Hell with you
Hesitantly, Y/N turned back to the door. Taking a deep breath, she unlocked the door and opened it. She looked startled when Shiki fell to her feet, grinning up at her innocently as he held out his hand which was holding onto her beanie.
Love, you're not alone, 'cause I'm gonna stand by you
Even if we can't find heaven, I'm gonna stand by you
Even if we can't find heaven, I'll walk through Hell with you
Smiling, Y/N took the headpiece from him and placed it on her head, before helping him stand back up.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him, seeming to shock the male as he had obviously not been expecting that, nor had he been hugged in such a long while. With a faint smile, he wrapped his arms around her middle and pulled her close, his black wings cascading around them like a black curtain.
Love, you're not alone, 'cause I'm gonna stand by you
-Library #3/Student Council Room-
"There they are~!" Urie grinned as both Shiki and Y/N walked into the the large room, standing a bit too close for the incubus's liking. "I thought you said you weren't going to comfort the little Lynx." He stated in a surprising bitter tone.
"Comfort her about what?" Shi's voice caused Y/N to look into the shadows of the library in surprise.
"Just a little disagreement." Y/N answered, sending a warning look towards Urie and Mage to keep their mouths closed. After all, she was sure that her guard would go on a rampage knowing she had been hurt in any way or form. "Anyways, you guys are back. Did you not find it?" She asked, sitting on the edge of her desk.
"Yes, in fact." Rem replied, revealing himself sitting in her black spinney chair.
"The Nami Key has been located." Shi stated.
