~Naruto's P.O.V~

I can't quite remember things. No, I remember my name, and my favourite food, and my friends, and all the important things. But I can't seem to remember how I got here, or even why I'm here. Am I awake, or am I dreaming? I really can't tell and it's pissing me off.

I'm by no means a smart guy, so when I don't know something I get really fucking confused.

I remember a tree falling, and then me pushing Sakura out of the way...

"Shit! What if I died?! Now I'll never be Hokage!"

My eyes snapped open and I sat up... In a field of sunflowers...? I'm not complaining or anything, it's just really weird since I don't remember falling asleep in a field of flowers.

Girly laughter caught my attention and my head snapped towards the sound, my eyes focusing on figures in the distance. I could barely make out the colours of their hair. Long purple hair and short white hair, which blended with the endless white space around.

"What are you waiting for?"

That voice I recognized. It was the Kyuubi, and he was right behind me, but there was no cage separating us. Yet he didn't attack me.

"Go towards them."

I rolled my eyes at the fox's demands but walked forwards. I knew he was following me because I heard his giants paws as they stomped along behind me. As I got closer I could now make them out. One figure was a beautiful woman with long purple hair and scarlet glasses, and the other was a small child with short white hair and big eyes. The two of them sat at a table, both of them reading, but as I approached they turned to be.

"You must be Naruto Uzumaki," The woman smiled. "My name is Rize."

"I'm Ken!" The boy introduced.

"Um... Hello?" I awkwardly replied. "Where are we?"

"Your head of course." Rize giggled.

"So I've gone crazy and I'm seeing people?" I asked.

"Not quite." She chuckled.

"It will all make sense," Ken added. "You'll be waking up soon."

"What is all of this?" I asked, still confused. "Why are you here, why is he here?" I jabbed my thumb at the demon fox.

"Good luck, Fish Cake." Rize said with a devilish grin.

"Good luck?" I repeated.

"On being like us." Ken added.

"Wait, I don't-"

The space around me was fading into sunflower petals, along with the little boy, the woman, the Kyuubi and myself. The infinitely big room shattered all around and the floor fell from underneath me, making me fall endlessly into black.

I was awake. Or at least sort of. I could feel myself moving, but my eyes were blurry. I could hear talking and screaming, but it was muffled like I was underwater. My body acted on its own as if I no longer had control as if I was just a hostage, tied up and thrown in the back seat.

My teeth sank into something and I felt my body shiver in pure ecstasy. I chewed it up and swallowed, then lapping up the liquid that came with it. I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but it tasted a bit like the iron supplements that Iruka-sensei said I should take when I got dark circles under my eyes from being up late. But it tasted good, better than iron, but still tasting like iron. It was so strange. I could smell it in the air, but what was it...?

It was almost like... Blood.

~Third Person P.O.V~ 

Kaneki fended off both the bandage wrapped boy and the prideful kunoichi, refusing Kana's attempts at helping. Meanwhile, Sasuke was beating the crap out of the other boy from Oto. While Kaneki and Sasuke didn't really like each other, but at the moment they were surprisingly similar. They inflicted injuries on their targets without care, grinning the entire time.

Kaneki drew a kunai, dragging it across the face of the kunoichi so that it left a trail of blood on her right cheek. She pressed a hand to her face for a moment, pulling it away and staring at the red in her palm. Almost in sync, Kana and Kaneki's eyes turned a hungry red, their eyes snapping to the dripping wound. She took a step back in fear. At the same time, an orange blur ran past Kaneki, slamming into the girl at such a speed that she was knocked over.

There were nine orange tails waving behind the boy, each of them fanned out behind him. He had a mop of shockingly blonde hair and wore an orange jacket and matching pants. It was Naruto, only he was different. He straddled the girl and leaned closer to her, baring his teeth and then tearing into her shoulder.

She screamed in agony, tears welling up in her eyes as she struggled to reach for her kunai pouch. She fumbled to pull on out, gripping it like a lifeline and rearing back to stab Naruto. Naruto didn't even flinch, he chewed the lump of flesh, leaning down for another taste. She stabbed her kunai at Naruto, aiming for anything she could, but no hit did any damage. The kunai bounced off his neck and Naruto only paused in a brief moment of what seemed like confusion.

He tore into her shoulder again, ignoring her screams as she frantically tried to fend him off with a kunai. But he continued, only stopping once he seemed to come too, he stumbled away from her, confused and afraid.

"S-stay away!" She cried, holding her bleeding neck and shoulder.

"What did I do?" Naruto asked, staring at his bloodied hands.

Kaneki stepped in front of Naruto, smirking at the kunoichi.

"Kana, why don't you have some?" He asked, turning his head to look at her.

Kana's eyes sparkled as she quickly jogged over, stalking closer and closer until the kunoichi couldn't back away any further; she hit a tree. Kana gently took her arm, rolling up the sleeve of her jacket. She stared into her victim's eyes, smirking as she saw her tearing up again, shaking in fear. Then she sank her teeth in, listening to her delightful screams.

She worked for Orochimaru, a despicable man, she must've done despicable things; therefore, she was going to die, to an important cause. She had to eat too. 

When Kana was done she laid there, bleeding out before them.

"Kill me..." She sobbed desperately.

"Kaneki," Kana called out, ignoring her. "Would you like some?"

"How considerate," Kaneki smiled, giving Kana's head another pat. "I would love some, sure beats killing some low-lives in the village."

Naruto's eyes widened as he watched Kaneki bend down before the sobbing, broken girl.

"T-those murders..." He said, his eyes attempting to focus through tears. "That was you?"

"Well yeah," Kaneki idly shrugged. "I had to eat."

"B-but you killed them!" Naruto exclaimed in fear.

"And you're better than me?" Kaneki scoffed. "Kana's killed to eat, as have I, and you almost did."

He grabbed the Oto girl by her silky black hair, using the other hand to gesture to her. He delicately held her already mangled arm and took a bite, frowning at the sound of no screams. She just silently sobbed.

"I guess we broke her," Kaneki stated, his tone plain. "Oh well."

A single red tentacle shot from his back, stabbing straight through her heart and out her back. She coughed up a glob of blood and the light faded from her eyes. Blood had splattered everywhere, and Kana crossed her arms.

"Did you have to stab her?" She asked. "Now I'm covered in blood."

Kaneki rolled his eyes, glancing at Sasuke.

"Let's hurry up and stop psycho-killer over there before he does something stupid."

"Holy shit." Neiji muttered.

"I think you mean, holy fucking shit." Tenten corrected him.

"We just came to see if they needed assistance, I did not expect... That." Lee added.

"So what do we do?" Tenten asked.

"We get the hell out of here." Neji replied in an 'are you stupid?' tone.

"That's not very youthful, but I agree." Lee shivered.

And so, they got the hell out of there, heading towards the tower.

When the sounds outside died down, Haku, Azumi and Sakura figured this would be a good time to go outside. Haku and Azumi went first, Sakura trailing behind them. Kaneki and Kana were having a discussion off to the side as Sasuke taunted an Oto shinobi with two broken arms. Naruto, however, was off to the side, his head buried in his lap. Azumi and Haku went up to Kana, while Sakura went over to Naruto.

She placed a comforting hand on his shoulder.

"How are you feeling Naruto?" She asked.

"I'm fine." He mumbled.

"Bullshit," Sakura scoffed. "Now look at me."

He slowly looked at Sakura and she sharply sucked in a breath. His left eye had a red pupil, and the whites were pitch black. Gone was the cheerful, bright blue she had grown accustomed to. His left eye remained bandaged, with no guarantee he would ever have use of that eye again.

"Sakura, what am I going to do?" He whispered desperately. "Why am I like this? I was a monster before, but what am I now?"

Sakura sighed, cupping her eyes in her hands.

"I'm so sorry Naruto," She cried. "If you hadn't of pushed me out of the way, you'd have been fine."

"What happened?" Naruto asked.

"A tree branch had fallen and you pushed me, then half of you was crushed, and you would've died," Sakura explained. "But Orochimaru said he could save you, but he needed organs from Kaneki."

Naruto glanced at the teen dressed in black, his eyes narrowed.

"On top of that, he gave Sasuke something, and it changed him too Naruto." Sakura added.

"So I'm like them now?" Naruto asked, looking at Kana and Kaneki.

Sakura nodded.

"I'm going to go wash off in the river," Naruto said, standing suddenly. "Don't follow me."

He walked off silently into the forest, towards the river.

"The Sound Dorks had an earth scroll." Azumi said, searching through the pockets of the bandaged boy, who was alive but passed out. "Lucky for you guys."

Sasuke, now back to normal, took the scroll from her. "Hn, thanks."

"We have an extra heaven scroll, what should we do?" Haku asked.

"I don't know, but we should hang on to it, never know when we could need it." Azumi shrugged.

"You never know." Kana nodded.

Naruto stared into his eye, frowning at how peculiar they looked on him. He liked his eyes before, but now it was like this. He couldn't cover the eye though, because then he'd be completely blind. 

Why wouldn't it just go away?

The answer was being whispered to him, but he continued to refuse it. He could now- would not eat anyone. He never even wanted to think about it.
