Hidan glanced down at Kana, a grin suddenly spreading across his face.
"Say kid, would you be interested in joining the way of Jashin-sama?" Hidan asked, then being elbowed in the gut by Kakazu.
"You are not going to corrupt Kana." He grunted.
"Fucking ow!" Hidan barked.
"Watch your mouth!" Konan and Deidara huffed.
Hidan scoffed. "Whatever."
Pein tossed a kunai to Hidan, which he caught out of instinct and stared at. Pein pointed at his neck, making Hidan look down, noticing his untouched Yugakure headband. The sound of metal against metal rang out as the kunai scraped across his headband, cutting through the three slanted vertical lines.
Hidan tossed the kunai back when he was done, shoving his hands into the pockets of his jacket, still unzipped, baring his torso.
"We will head back to the base, get our belongings and then leave for Amegakure," Pein ordered. "Is that understood."
"Yes, leader-sama."
~~~~~
"So, what's being immortal like?"
Hidan looked down at the curious little girl, staring into her wide and curious brown eyes.
"Not as great as everyone thinks." Hidan replied crossing his arms. "Getting injured still hurts like a bitch though."
Deidara, Konan and Itachi all glared at the man.
"What's a bitch?" Kana asked.
"A female dog." Sasori cut in.
Kana giggled. "So it hurts like a female dog?"
"Sure, whatever." Hidan shrugged.
"Quiz time." Kakazu suddenly said. "Tiger."
Kana quickly made the handsign, looking at Kakazu for further instruction.
"Serpent."
The quizzing continued, with Kana getting all of the handsigns right and receiving praise from everyone, except Hidan, who didn't seem to care.
"Great, now we can finally move on to doing more ninjutsu." Kakazu sighed. "You practiced the earth one I taught you, right?"
"Yup!" Kana chirped. "Want to see?"
"Sure." Kakazu nodded.
Everyone stopped walking as Kana brought her hands together. She sped through all the correct signs, gave the jutsu some chakra and then spoke.
"Earth style: mud wall!"
A wall of mud rose up in front of her, rising to the same height as her and about half a foot thick.
"Good job." Kakazu smirked.
Kana grinned and released the jutsu, letting the wall crumble into a pile of dirt.
"Not that it isn't good you're advancing, but we must get moving." Pein said.
And so they continued on, still chatting pleasantly as Kisame ranted on about swords some more.
~~~~~
Kana frowned as she looked around her room. The room was now stripped bare, with a few items on the floor waiting to be packed. While it hadn't been long since she'd arrived, this base had become her home.
She smiled as she picked up a picture of Itachi and Kisame, a photo she took of them while hiding behind a corner. She told herself and others that it was stealth training, when in actuality, she just wanted to have fun being 'sneaky.'
In the photo, Kisame was grinning as he held a stick of dango up in front of Itachi. Itachi's eyes were glued on the stick, almost like a toddler.
Kana smiled softly as she packed the photo into her bag, also putting in the small camera Deidara gave to her to borrow.
She had two more photos, each one of them including Konan in them. In one photo, Konan was smiling while doing her hair, and in the other, Konan laughed as Kana pulled on Kakazu's arm, attempting to pull it off.
Kana was about to tuck the photo away when a scent hit her nose and there was a knock on her door. She gently placed the two photos down, standing up to answer the door. To her surprise, Hidan stood there. He now wore an Akatsuki cloak, unzipped in a way that exposed his chest. Kana wondered if he was cold.
"What are you doing here?" Kana asked, holding the door open.
Hidan pushed his way into the room with a huff, arms crossed.
"I was sent in here to get you," He replied. "Some bullshit about bonding and junk."
Kana just nodded, walking back to her backpack in the center of her room. Kana stared at the photo's a little longer, smiling. Hidan squatted down next to her, squinting at the photos.
"I took these photos a few days after I came here." Kana said, giggling. "I like taking photos."
"Photos are alright," Hidan said with a sigh. "I always look weird though."
"Really?" Kana asked. "Why don't we take a photo then?"
Kana dug around in her bag for a minute before pulling out a small camera. The camera was just gray, with a round button on top and a slot on the bottom for photos to print.
Kana scooted closer to Hidan, holding out the camera so that the lense faced them.
"If you hold it like that, my face won't be in the picture." Hidan said, making Kana pout. "Let me help."
Hidan gently took the camera from her, using his much longer arm to hold it out in front of them. He placed a hand on her head, wearing a grin that matched Kana's.
"Say, Jashin-sama!" Hidan exclaimed.
There was a flash.
"Jashin-sama!"
~~~~~
"What's taking Hidan so long?" Kisame asked, hoisting his sword onto his shoulder.
"I think they're bonding." Konan chuckled.
"Well they better hurry up." Kakazu growled. "I hate waiting."
"I just don't want him to corrupt my little Kana!" Deidara exclaimed.
"Yours?" Itachi asked, making Deidara flinch.
"I meant ours!" He squeaked.
Sasori and Kisame snickered, completely unaware of the fact that Pein snickered too (on the inside of course).
"We're here!"
They turned towards the hallway and saw Kana and Hidan emerge, both of them grinning.
"What's got you guys so happy?" Kisame asked.
"I have another photo!" Kana replied.
"That's great!" Deidara exclaimed. "We should take more pictures when we get to the new hideout!"
Itachi and Sasori both nodded.
"Let's go, we should hurry if we want to be there by tonight." Pein said.
Everyone nodded, following after their leader as he dashed into the forest.
~~~~~
It was certainly called Amegakure for a reason.
They arrived in the village and the first thing to notice was the rain. It was a constant downpour, with no sign of letting up.
Kana pulled a cloak from her bag and wrapped it around her, pulling the hood over her head. She already knew that being sick wasn't fun.
"So where the hell are we staying anyway?" Hidan asked.
"We will be staying in the building of the old ruler of Ame," Pein replied, pointing at a building in the distance
Everyone looked to see where he pointed and gasped. It was a huge tower- no a huge skyscraper.
"What happened to this guy anyway?" Itachi asked.
"He died." Pein said, saying nothing else.
Finally, the gates came into view, though they weren't very big at all. Just a ten foot tall concrete wall with barbed wire.
"Welcome," Konan smiled sadly. "To Amegakure."
A/N
This was written on my phone, so it may not be the greatest. I can't spell check and so on, so it's not the best. Hope you liked it!
