Kisame Hoshigaki

A/N

I'm doing this my own way alright? Won't be like canon.

"Great job." Itachi smiled, giving Kana a thumbs up as she made her way down the tree using chakra.

"Finally!" Kana cheered. "It took four days!"

It was now day three of their mission, day four of Kana's chakra control training. They were just a few kilometres from the port city and were moving extra slow to allow Kana more time to train.

"So, where are we going to find this Kisame guy?" Kana asked.

"In town probably, I think he's been staying here for a little while." Itachi replied, bringing his hands together.

Itachi henged into the same gray-haired boy from before and they entered the town together. Kana watched in awe as she looked at all the different vendors and ships at the edge of town. While it didn't smell great, it looked amazing.

Itachi stopped a man walking by and politely asked where all the towns inns were. The man chuckled and said there was only two, both on opposite ends of town.

"Should we split up?" Kana suggested.

"No," Itachi replied sharply. "We will stick together."

"Okay." Kana shrugged.

Itachi lead the way to the inn closest to them, the one towards the northeast. It wasn't long before they made it to the inn's front door. The outside was lined with colourful potted plants and a small number of shrubs. The two entered the inn together and walked up to the receptionist, a cheerful brunette with brown eyes.

"Welcome! How can I help-!"

The woman was cut off by a blur of blue that crashed through the ceiling, landing on top of the desk. The figure on the desk groaned and rolled over, hefting a huge sword onto his shoulders. Four men dressed in shinobi gear appeared in front of him, all of them having a Kirigakure headband.

"Hate to drop in," The blue man snorted. "But these guys insisted on fighting me inside."

Itachi looked down at Kana narrowing her eyes.

"Stay here."

Kana huffed and crossed her arms, reluctantly agreeing.

Itachi stepped forwards, walking past the Kiri shinobi so that he stood next to the stranger. The man was well over six feet tall, maybe even seven. His skin was a light blue and he had gills and small eyes. His hair was a darker blue and spiked up over his headband. The sword he held was wrapped in cloth bandages and seemed to almost growl.

"Who the hell are you?" The blue man asked.

"Itachi Uchiha, I have something to discuss with you." Itachi curtly replied.

"Who's the kid?" He asked.

Kana raised a hand, smiling softly. "My name's Kana."

"Well, I'll be happy to talk to both of you, after these pains are dealt with." He chuckled. "Seriously, you'd think they're stalkers."

The Kiri nin he was dissing stayed silent, drawing their weapons and slowly circling around the two men. Itachi sighed, palming a kunai.

"Let's get this over with I suppose." Itachi hummed his sharigan swirling into place.

"Don't look into his eyes!"

But it was already too late for that, one man hit the ground.

"One down," Itachi taunted.

The fight broke out quickly. The blue man swung his sword at people, bashing them into the walls, floor, and occasionally the ceiling. Itachi wounded the men whenever he could, placing them in a genjutsu or giving them non-lethal injuries. The receptionist ducked behind her desk, Kana could see why.

"Water style: water shark bomb jutsu!"

Two sharks made of water chomped at the shinobi, scratching them up in their current or slowing drowning them when possible.

The only man left looked around the room frantically, his eyes darting from Kana, to Itachi, to the exit, and then the blue man. Suddenly he smirked, disappearing for a mere moment.

Kana's eyes narrowed she searched around the room for him with her eyes, ears and nose, catching nothing.

"If you value her life, don't move!"

Cold steel pressed against her neck but never broke skin. Instead, the metal almost ground against her skin, creating nothing more than uncomfortable friction. Itachi went to dash forward to her rescue, but Kana shook her head.

Her eye changed to black and red, making the man beside Itachi smile in curiosity. The man behind her suddenly screamed as he coughed blood, squirming for a moment before going stock still. A purple tentacle snaked out from behind her, the dead body still impaled on the pointed end. Kana eyed the tendril in surprise, not ever knowing she had this ability. She had reacted purely on instinct. The dead man slumped to the floor joining his comrades, some dead, others unconscious.

"Kana..." Itachi trailed off unsure of what to say.

"Let's just get out of here," Kana sighed. "I can smell food cooking and it's making me sick."

Itachi and the tall blue man walked out of the inn, Kana right behind them. Itachi glanced back to make sure she was coming and paused when she hauled the corpse onto her back.

"What?" Kana asked. "It's a snack for later."

Itachi shook his head.

"Let's just get into the woods already." Itachi sighed.

The blue man laughed.

~~~~~
"What's your name anyway?" Kana asked unsurely, using her snack as a seat.
"Kisame Hoshigaki," The blue man replied, showing off his sharp teeth. "And what's your business with me anyway?"
Kisame looked to Itachi, who had remained silent for a few minutes.
"I am here to offer you a chance to join the Akatsuki." Itachi replied.
"The Akatsuki?" Kisame asked. "Never heard of them."
"We are a fairly new organization, with our newest member being Deidara of Iwagakure," Itachi said. "Though if you want to get technical, Kana is the newest, although I'm not sure if she is an official member, she isn't S-rank... Yet."
"So what is the goal of this Akatsuki group anyway?" Kisame asked. "And why the hell is there a kid with you? A kid who likes to lug around dead bodies at that."
"The ultimate goal of the Akatsuki is world peace, however, leader-sama could tell you more about that than I could," Itachi replied. "As for Kana, Deidara and Sasori brought her back with them on a mission a little under a week ago. I can't give you any more information on Kana unless you join, we can't afford to give up her secrets to someone untrustworthy."
"I'm in." Kisame shrugged. "I have nothing better to do, and world peace doesn't sound half-bad. I'm also interested in Kana."
"Great, we will camp out here for tonight and head back tomorrow morning." Itachi said, then turning to Kana. "If you're hungry Kana, go eat deeper in the woods, dispose of the rest. When you get back we can start on more training."
Kana nodded as she hauled the body onto her shoulders again, walking deeper and deeper into the woods. Kisame looked at Itachi and Kana in confusion.
He hated being out of the loop.
