I feel like I need to put a gore warning because I may or may not have gone a bit overboard with how descriptive I made my writing in this chapter... But hey, if you enjoy reading about people getting torn apart and eaten then you should enjoy it.

Warning: Gore, a lot of it.

Kana assessed her makeshift team, which consisted of two deadly S-ranks and five genin.

"Will this be enough people to take Gaara down?" Azumi asked with a worried look etched onto her face.

Hidan let out a bark of laughter. "Are you kidding?! Do you not know who I am?"

"Frankly, no, I have no clue who you are," Azumi sighed. "But Haku and Kana seem to be familiar with the both of you so I'm assuming you're on our side."

"These men work for Ame, in the same organization as Kana and I." Haku briefly explained.

"Yup!" Kana chirped. "Now, are we ready to go? The longer we wait the harder it will be to track Sasuke and Gaara based on scent."

"Let's get moving!" Naruto exclaimed, his nose twitching as he leapt towards the forest.

Kana and the rest were quick to follow, leaping after Naruto and keeping up with relative ease. But before they had completely entered the forest, a figure caught up to them, running to Naruto's side.

"What the hell is going on?!" The Nara exclaimed, yelling at Naruto for answers.

"Long story, we're going to help Sasuke," Naruto replied curtly. "You coming, Shikamaru?"

Said boy sighed, running a hand over his scalp. "Yeah, I'll come."

Kana grinned, clapping the boy on the back. "Thanks for the help!"

"Yeah..." He grumbled, rubbing his shoulder. "But could you explain why there are two rouge shinobi with us?"

"Sure," Kana nodded. "This is Hidan and Kakazu, they're going to help us out!"

"Yeah," Hidan agreed, a scowl on his face when he looked at the boy. "And don't talk about us like we aren't here! Do it again and I'll slice you to bits for Jashin-sama!"

"Don't mind him," Kakazu sighed. "He's an idiot."

"What was that geezer?!" Hidan roared back in his face.

"Don't yell at me imbecile," Kakazu growled. "Or do you want me to test your immortality again?"

Hidan huffed, crossing his arms like a spoiled child who didn't get what they wanted. Kana and Haku chuckled at the two's usual spat.

"I think they're just up ahead!" Naruto yelled, still adjusting to his new sense of smell.

Kana's nose twitched. "I can smell nine people approaching from in front of us!"

"What should we do?" Choji asked.

Shikamaru opened his mouth to reply, being the strategist of the bunch.

"Naruto and I will rush ahead and take care of them first," Kana said. "We should be done by the time you get there."

"See you guys in a bit!" Naruto exclaimed before kicking it into high gear and vanishing ahead of them with Kana.

~~~~~
"Why'd only Kana and Naruto go?" Shikamaru asked.
"Trust me, Kana and Naruto will be able to handle themselves in a fight." Haku replied.
"You wouldn't want to see them fight anyway," Azumi flinched. "It can get messy, especially when they're mad, hungry, or both."
"Hungry?" Choji asked.
Hidan chuckled sadistically. "Wish I was there to watch!"
~~~~~

A beautiful symphony of screams filled the air as the surroundings were painted with shades of red. Bones snapped, their flesh was torn from bones, blood gushed from major arteries as they were torn open with teeth. Wolf snarls rang out like bells, crushing men under their mighty paws and tossing the remains into trees like ragdolls, breaking bones on impact.

The two hungry beasts devoured them with haste, not bothering to spare anyone who met their eyes. The wolves' methods of killing suddenly seemed tame in comparison to what the two monsters did. Jumping on their victims, they tore out their jugular, gulping down mouthfuls of warm blood and devouring their flesh. The men that tried to get away were quickly caught by their 'tails,' stabbing or choking them to death, with ease.

"Three!" Gray called out, snapping a man's neck in his jaws.

Yuki growled, her kill count still at only two. She jumped at another man, pinning him down with one paw and snapping his neck in her jaws. "Now, I'm at three."

Kana finished off one corpse, running past Naruto and his victim, towards the last man who remained alive. As she leapt above her meal her Jashin necklace flew out from under her top, flapping in front of her for a brief moment before she tucked it away again. A single purple tendril pierced his shoulder, pinning him to a tree. He screamed out in agony, tearing his shoulder further as he tried to getaway. Kana stalked closer, a cynical grin on her face, blood-caked around her mouth.

"P-please..." He gasped, tears leaking out of his eyes.

The corners or Kana's eyes crinkled as her smile deepened. She slowly bent down, grabbing one of the man's legs and biting into his thigh. He screamed and thrashed in pain, only making Kana more irritated. Another tendril stabbed into his stomach.

"Stay still..." She growled.

The man silently cried, watching as the girl who could be no older than thirteen giggled, watching his blood fall to the forest floor.

A hand landed on Kana's shoulder and she quickly turned to see who it was. Naruto shakily opened his mouth to speak.

"Kana?" He began. "You're creeping me out, why're you smiling like that?"

The grin on Kana's face fell, taking on a frown, filled with confusion. She blinked, her eyes focusing on Naruto, and then on the carnage around them. Her hand traced the outside of her lips, peeling off flakes of dried blood. Naruto wiped the blood off his own face, his eye fading back to blue.

"All the men have been taken care of." Gray said, walking over to Kana's side, his mouth covered in blood.

"Thank you," Kana nodded. "You can both go back now."

Yuki and Gray nodded before vanishing in white smoke, leaving Naruto and Kana alone in the bloody battlefield.

"How many of them did you get?" Kana asked Naruto, wiping some of the blood off her own face.

"Only one," Naruto replied, glancing at a pile of fabric and bones. "But I did finish him off."

Kana glanced at the two dead men behind her, both of which were missing parts of their bodies with gaping wounds all over.

"Then I got those other two?" Kana asked. "For some reason, my memory is a bit foggy..."

"Mine too... I remember attacking him, but I don't remember eating him..." Naruto sighed. "So, now we just wait for the others?"

Kana nodded.

~~~~~
"So," Shikamaru conversationally began. "What exactly did she mean by, 'take care of them?'"
"Isn't that obvious?" Kakazu grumbled.
"Well, I have an idea of what she meant," Shikamaru sighed. "But frankly, I don't want to think about it."
"By now, Kana has probably slaughtered them all." Hidan grinned. "I couldn't be more proud!"
"She killed them?" Choji asked. "But Naruto is with her, did he help kill them?"
"Probably," Azumi shrugged. "Since the Forest of Death, Kana and Naruto are now very similar, so he probably had a hand in killing them."
"Kana doesn't like killing," Haku muttered. "But when someone threatens the lives of others, she is merciless."
Shikamaru shivered. "Scary."
"What are you talking about?" Hidan scoffed. "Kana's like an adorable little puppy!"
"A puppy that eats people maybe..." Kakazu chuckled under his breath.
Finally, they caught up to Kana and Naruto, landing in a clearing with blood-stained everything. The tree, the grass, the bushes. Everything was stained red.
Kana, who had been resting against a tree, quickly rushed over, brushing off her skirt.
"Everything's all taken care of!" Kana chirped.
Hidan ruffled her hair affectionately. "You've got blood in your hair y'know."
Kana frowned, playing with a strand of her hair. "Again? Should I just cut it short?"
"Your choice kid," Kakazu grumbled. "But we have more important things to attend to."
"Right!" Naruto exclaimed. "We have to hurry and get to Gaara and Sasuke!"
Kana's nose twitched again and she scowled. "We have another problem."
"What is it this time?" Shikamaru groaned.
"One female, coming towards us from up ahead." Kana growled.
"You guys go on ahead and help Sasuke," Shikamaru sighed. "I'll hold her off and then come and join the fight."
"Thanks, Shikamaru!" Naruto exclaimed.
Shikamaru nodded. "What a drag, now get going!"
They crossed paths with Temari, however, Shikamaru stopped her from following them by throwing several shuriken at her. Temari batted them away with a single stroke of her fan.
"Go!" Shikamaru exclaimed.
Everyone sped up, heading towards Sasuke and Gaara as fast as they could without exerting themselves too much. The foliage blurred past them as they jumped from tree to tree, a sharp buzzing noise in the air as the wind rushed past their ears.
"Another minute and we'll be there!" Kana yelled.
Hidan pulled a scroll from his pouch, unsealing the contents and then tossing the scroll behind him lazily. His red, three-pronged scythe reflected the golden sunlight through the foliage as he swung it onto his back, enjoying the feeling of the most familiar weapon in his hand.
They burst out of the treeline and into the clearing, their eyes landing on a giant figure before them, made out of chakra and sand. The creature let loose a chilling roar, shaking everything in the forest.
Hidan whistled. "Sand tanuki!"
Kakazu slapped him upside the head. "It's the Ichibi you idiot!"
"Oh," Hidan said. "Well, let's kick his ass!"
Kakazu sighed, unimpressed, yet not surprised by his partner's significant lack of intelligence.
A/N
I hope y'all enjoyed the chapter! I definitely strayed away from canon events, but I'm happy with it overall! This chapter ended up being extra long too. Side note though, I kinda forgot that Shino fought Kankuro in canon and was kind of just like 'whatever, I'm going to fuck with this.' And this is what I got. So, I hope you found it enjoyable!
