Chapter 2
The door opens and I couldn't believe my eyes. One looked to be around 6 feet, wore simple night clothing, hair as dark as night, and beautiful black eyes. I wonder if he was "modified" like me. I had my eye replaced, but is it possible for a guy to look like this without any modifying? He simply stares and puts one hand to his hip.
"Do you mind? I'm trying to sleep."
I won't lie, his voice sounds pretty seductive for a guy. He looked to be around my age almost. Marie bows. "Pardon us for the interruption One." His eyes narrowed and looked at the woman before shutting the door behind him. Marie sighs and turns to me. "I suggest you rest before we leave in the morning." What?
"Where are we going in the morning?" She walks away and says, "You'll find out soon enough."

I sigh into my pillow and pulled the blanket over me away from the sunlight. This is the first time I've ever slept in such a nice bed. I was savoring the moment until my door opened and the curtains sung wide open to let in more light. The sheets were ripped away from me and the cold rushed in and stole the warmth. I rub my eyes and see Marie before me. "Rise and shine Two."
I hauled myself out of bed and see clothes laid out for me (you decide). I reach out to change, but Marie stops me. "It is our job to get you ready. Leave this to us." With a snap of her fingers, a row of servants come through my door and began to help me wash.
"Hey! I can wash myself!"
"There's no time to be embarrassed. You're filthy and I won't allow an art who will fail this house."
After they scrubbed all the muck and dirt off me, I was dressed. I didn't smell either. It felt so much better after getting cleaned. I sat in a chair while Marie started to tie my hair. She was very skilled at it. They were almost soothing. I close my eyes and wait. Marie rests her hands on my shoulders and I open my eyes. "All finished."
She takes out a mirror and places it in front of me. "All we need now is the make-up." She sits in front of me and gently starts to apply the make-up. "So why did you dress me in this. . ." I patted my dress. ". . .dress?" She begins to outline my eyes.
"Our master has been invited to a masquerade held by their royal majesties. Monsters of course. Every master will bring their arts to represent each house."
She finishes the last touches and holds out a mask for me (your choice). "Today is the day the royal family, from both sides, attend masquerades. It is the celebration Renewal. " I strap the mask on and look at myself in the mirror. Marie holds her hands together and steps to the side. "You look very beautiful Two."
My eyes narrow. I even wonder if the person in the mirror really is me. I look beautiful, but the person in the mirror. . . is not me.

I step out of my room and escorted by the servants down the stairs. One stood beside my so called buyer. Dressed in royal blue lined with green and red. His right arm was tangled with rose vines and thorns and held a single rose. His mask was a gold and black giving an intimidating feeling. My buyer stood in a classic black suit with a mask on his right side. I've only seen him with a full mask but not one where it shows his other half. I wonder where he got those scars. It's a very powerful look though. As expected of the master of this house.
One represents the beauty of the house. I represent the strength of the house. The master represents the power of the house. The master walks towards me and extends a hand. "I never did introduce myself." I take his hand as he helps me down the stairs. "I am Sans, the master of this house. You have already met my brother." He cocks his head to the side towards Papyrus. He gives me a nod and we went outside to the car.
One, Papyrus, and I sat at the back. Sans sat in the seat in front of me. We drove towards the Gates and it was that same incantation again. What does it mean? The Gates open and we drive past. I can see the palace here from here. A large castle that shined a bright blue in the night. Echo flowers. Nowadays they're used to whisper anything suspicious to the guards or the royal families rather than for looks.
We make it to the large castle and park right up front. I've never seen this many arts before. We both step out and guess who I see. The "golden girl" from before. Adeline I think. She's even earned her own name. We both make eye contact and she smirks. She walks over to me and smiles. "Well if it isn't the number two of the Gaster House. " She puts her hands on her hip. "Just another low art for me to-"
She doesn't finish as One steps out. She pauses and her face became slightly red. I look at him and he seemed to recognize her. He bows. "Lady Adeline." She quickly curtsies and smiles. "Oh! It's nice to see you again!" He smiles and takes my hand. Her smile falters and I just stood there confused. "If you'll excuse us, we'll be leaving now." He drags me with him and leaves her there speechless.
"Hey, what was that all about?" He sighs and looks around to make sure she was gone. "She's an annoying art." I look at the hands we still held and raise it to his face. "Shouldn't I be getting a thank you for helping you avoid Adeline?" He releases my hands quickly and puts them behind his back formally. ". . . . thanks."

The ball room was full of people. Almost like a sea of masks and colors. Everyone was dancing and drinking. They were all having fun. I walk out to the balcony and shifted into a bird. I flew up towards the sky as high as I could and breathed in that glorious air. I drop from the sky and drowned in that feeling of freedom. I make a few twirls and land perfectly back on the balcony. I quickly shift back when I heard someone coming. It was One.
"What are you doing out here?" I lean against the balcony. "Does it really matter if I tell you?" She strides towards me in long steps and I began to feel uneasy. He stops and extends a hand to me.

I saw her flying gracefully across the sky. Diving and twirling smiling in her won little world. She sure has spirit. . . and an attitude. I watch her land back on the balcony and shift back. I approach her and held out a hand. "Since you're not doing anything, would you care for a dance?" She looks at my hand for a while and places her hands in mine. "If I step on your feet, then you can't blame me since I gave you a warning." I smile held her hand and rested the other on her waist. "Just follow me."

I'm surprised at how good he was at dancing. His steps were easy to follow and each one flowed through the music. I smiled and glanced at Adeline. She glares at me and I caught her saying, "I should've been the one in the Gaster House." Does she ever let things go? The dancing continues and we switch partners. Adeline was now dancing with One and he looked uncomfortable. I giggle and look at my new partner.
Well, if it isn't my buyer. I got the hang of dancing and smiled throughout the whole time. "Are you enjoying the dance?" He twirls me around and then we were back dancing around in a circle. "This is the best fun I've ever had. Better than being locked in right?" He pauses before he says, ". . . . right." We switched partners and I danced with many others. The song ends and everyone claps and laughs.
The echo flowers outside almost seemed to whisper their own laughters. Tired, I walked over to get a drink. I pour myself a cup and drink. A man dressed in a suit wearing a red mask came over to get a drink. He almost looked familiar. He takes one look at me and slips the mask off. I almost spit my drink out. It was John. The one who sold me off from that horrible place.
"Hello again." I set my drink down and glare. "What are you doing here?" He drinks the last drop of his drink before setting it down. "There is a new master who also wanted to buy you. He has better pay than this master you have now." He takes out a small cloth. I back away and run into the crowd. I large man grabs my arm and I try to call out for help, but the cloth masked my voice.

Adeline never stops talking does she? She tries too hard to seduce me and sometimes goes too far. She won't let go of my arm. I rip my arms from her. "Don't you have anything better to do?" She grips her dress and begins to cry. "Why do you treat me this way?" I shake her hands off and leave. She blocks me and smacks my chest. "Why her?! I've worked so hard to earn my name, become beautiful just so you could notice me. She has no name or any status as an art."
"Compared to you, I don't see an ugly heart in her." I push her aside. "Goodbye Adeline." I walk over to Two where she drank punch. A strange man approaches her and she didn't seem to like his company. She runs, but another man grabs her and she fell unconcious. I reached out to use my vine whip, but a hand on my shoulder stops me. Sans.
"Don't interfere."
"What-"
He glares at the door and then looks to me. "We'll follow them."
