You slowly started to wake up, your head was pounding and you felt very disoriented. You looked around your room and Lance was sleeping on a nearby chair while Pidge was in a sleeping bag on the floor, Hunk was just snoozing away on the floor. You felt something heavy on your left, Keith had fallen asleep on the edge of your bed while sitting on a chair.

A smile pulled at your cheek towards him and the rest of your friends.

You ran your fingers through his hair and he slowly stirred awake.

"Morning sleeping beauty." You chuckled. It took him a minute to realize you were awake and when he did, he sat up straight, embarrassed about how you casually woke him up.

"Hey, how are you feeling?" He asked softly, making sure he didn't startle the others.

"I've been better." You shrugged. You lifted the covers off of you and you marveled at your new prosthetic leg. "Wow..." You breathed. Even though Pidge mentioned that she would make it as light as possible, the thing latched on to your stump still felt foreign and slightly heavy.

Keith helped you sit up and you moved your legs off the bed. You looked at it and tried to get used to the feeling and weight.

"Hey, you're up." Lance yawned as he stretched his sore muscles. Slowly the other paladins started to wake up and each one of them asked how you were feeling, to which you answered almost the same.

"You ready to get walking?" Shiro asked as he stood up.

"The quicker I learn the better." You smiled at him. Shiro walked over to your left while Keith was on your right. They helped you stand and you carefully put some of your weight on your right leg. You winced in pain at first and everyone seemed worried especially Pidge.

"It's fine, I just need to get used to it." You started taking a few steps and you were slowly getting used to the walking motion.

"So, how does it feel?" Hunk asked.

"It's difficult to describe - it's like trying to describe how it feels to taste ice cream to someone without a tongue." You chuckled as you took the last steps that would lead you out of your room. Everyone was careful and watching you attentively as parents would.

As your prosthetic foot hits the ground, you can't help but feel it but at higher impact, you can feel the impact ricochet through the rest of your body.

"You're awake!" Allura cheered seeing you and the others out of your room. She seemed glad that in the end, everything turned out well. During the next few days, you would have to train your leg, It felt a bit unstable at first but you eventually got the hang of it.

"Don't you think you should take a break?" Keith asked as you ran laps around the training ground.

"I need to be in top shape so I can go back on missions." You said as you ran on the opposite side. Keith let out a chuckle.

"Lunch is ready." He added. You just so happened to be passing by him when you heard him mention,

"Food!-Ah!" You tripped up and thankfully Keith caught you before you could fall face forward.

"See this is why you should take a break." You laughed as he helped you stand again.

"I'll take a break while eating." You flexed your ankle, the feeling still a bit weird. "So far so good. Let's go!" You grabbed onto his hand and you dragged him towards the Kitchen.

The days of your recovery passed by quicker than you thought and during that time Keith was right there beside you 24/7. It was nice, he would constantly keep you company and helped you recuperate as quickly as you did.

One evening, after you were done having a friendly spar with Keith getting your stamina back up and uncovering the many advantages to having a metal prosthetic leg, Lance jogged towards the two of you as soon as he caught sight of you.

"Y/n, there you are. Bellox and Ezran are at the Bridge, they say they have good news for you." He informed as he leaned on the doorway.

Curious enough, you shouted a 'Thanks!' as you ran to go see what it was, both Keith and Lance weren't far behind. They told you last time that they'll contact you if they find any new intel on the Elox's so you were eager to see what they had to say and to see if you finally got the chance to get back on the field.

The door to the Bridge slides open and you find Bellox and Ezran smiling as you enter.

"You got here fast." Ezran said with her signature grin.

"You've really been working hard, haven't you, Y/n?" Bellox added with a smirk as he walked over to you with his partner right beside him.

"You know it! Now, any updates?"

"You betcha!" Your short friend cheered, energetic as ever.

"After days of tracking and keeping surveillance over the Main ship of the Elox, this is what we found." Bellox took out a small communicator from a side pocket and swiped his hand forward revealing a map.

"It's right there!" Ezran pointed to the white dot on the holo-screen.

And just like that, they found it.

They found the white lion.

Another holo-screen appears on the right corner with a picture of the white lion, your white lion being taken inside a building. This was great. You could now get her back to where she belongs and best yet, this gives you back the upper hand.

"Where is it exactly?"

"It's where you'd expect it to be, at one of the central ships, a stronghold with a heightened security facility," Bellox explained.

"But don't worry. We have drones watching over the area from a safe distance, sending back live feeds of the number of guards stationed there by the minute!" Ezran added.

"We've even managed to get a generalized map of the place and the exact location on where they're keeping your lion."

"This is perfect!" You breathed seeing everything was already falling into place.

"Just say when and we'll send you all the details we've gathered." Bellox closed the map and showed you a toothy grin, somewhat revealing his fangs.

"Now. The sooner I get my lion back, the sooner we end this once and for all."

"You got it!"

"Pidge," Keith begins through his communicator, "Are you sure this is where they're keeping the white lion?"

"According to the schematics that Bellox sent, lower your thrusters on your lion because you two aren't far now."

"It's just this place doesn't look like a highly secure facility." He questioned.

"And that's why it's perfect," You add. "Ezran and Bellox know what they're talking about. They mentioned that some of the guards are instructed to keep a watch from a secluded area of the facility. But we've got their exact hiding locations." You couldn't help but beam seeing that you were finally gonna get her back.

"Don't get carried away, Y/n, you yourself said that these guys are dangerous." Keith kept his eyes on looking forward as he spoke to which you let out a sigh.

"Yeah I know I know." You ruffled his hair in hopes that he wouldn't look so stressed or grumpy for that matter, thankfully it worked seeing as he let out a chuckle, still not keeping his eye off of what was in front of him knowing that if he looked at you he would only get distracted.

"Alright, Keith your gonna have to land soon so get ready."

"Roger that." You watched as he landed Red far from the facility and left it with the invisibility cloak on for safety measures.

Once you set foot out of the lion you noticed that there wasn't much gravity to pull you down so you had to rely on your jetpack.

"Hey Ezran, Bellox, how are you two doing?" You asked through the intercom.

"We're on our way towards you two right now." Bellox answered and you could see them flying over to you two from a rebel ship they borrowed.

This was just an extraction mission so you guys didn't need that many people for the job, Bellox, Ezran, Keith and you would suffice.

"Now that we're all together we should head for the back entrance, once there, to the right of the door there should be a panel with the connection wires that allow access to the west side emergency door, we'll be heading in through there," Bellox explained.

"Right, so whos going where?" You asked seeing that the plan was pretty simple.

"I'll be at the back entrance since I can work the wires, you should be the one to head in first since White will respond to you."

"I'll go with Y/n!" Ezran shouted excitedly.

"Why?" Keith asked seeing as she beat him to it.

"Where ever Y/n is, is where the action is!" She grabbed your hand and pulled you in for a hug. You looked over at Keith with a side smile and a shrug.

"Then it's settled. Once you two are in, Keith and I will follow behind while you head to the cell where white is held. I'm sending the map to everyone now." You heard a beep coming from the forearm of your suit and confirmed that you had the Map.

"Alright team, let's get to it!" You said enthusiastically. They nodded in agreement and you made your way to the west side of the facility just as instructed.

"Look at us! Back in the game!" Ezran cheered as if you two were going out to have fun instead of something that could honestly get you all killed.

"Okay you're at a 10, I'm gonna need you at a 4." You let out a chuckle at her enthusiasm.

"Right right sorry." She stifled a giggle. You two arrived at the west side of the building without any problems but you couldn't say the same thing for Keith and Bellox.

"How's it going, guys?" You asked through the communicator.

"Looks like they added a few guards on our side, we have to take a moment to make sure they leave for a while so we can get to the fuse box.

"Roger that." You two waited for a while--playing 'rock, paper, scissors' to pass the time--until you heard the doors slide open. You and Ezran internally freaked out but it washed away just as soon as it came when you heard Bellox say,

"Ladies first." You let out the breath you were holding and stealthily made your way inside. You two carefully turned every corner, calculating the guard's movements.

"The room where the Lion is should be around the next corner," Ezran instructed in a whisper. You nodded your head in understanding and proceeded in heading to the right.

"Guys, we're here, what's next?" You asked.

"We're on our way, just give us a sec." Keith answered in a low voice. You two waited patiently but you decided to get a head start and open the panel to see how complicated it was.

"How does it look Y/n?" Ezran looked over your shoulder out of curiosity.

"Yeah, Bellox's the guy for this." You said seeing that you didn't understand what was connected to what.

"You called?" Bellox had that big smirk on his face, acting as if he was coming to the rescue.

"It's all yours." You stepped aside and let him work his magic, and in about 5 minutes he had the doors sliding open.

"You two head in, we'll watch the door."

"Right." You and Ezran started charging in and the white Lion was in view. "There you are beautiful." You were so excited to see your Lion again after so long and now all that was left was to get in and blast out.

"Hey Ezran let's-" Your instincts kicked in and you took a leap backward. You barely made it in time to dodge the attack she sent your way, towards your neck to be more exact. "What the hell do you think you're doing, Ezran?" You questioned seeing her with a pole that had electricity running through it.

"Damn it. I thought you'd be slower with that new leg." She pouted and lunged forward to get another swing at you. You took quick steps backward, just inches away from her weapon. When she finally ceased her strikes you steadied your breath before speaking.

"So you're one of them." There was no other explanation as to why she would strike at you...

"Sorry it had to be this way, I had fun but I guess it ends here."
