"How are things?" Shiro asked through the communicator in his helmet.

"Everything's going according to plan. We're in the control room, ready to set the bomb." Answered Pidge as she disconnected and reconnected various wires. Hunk stood behind her and defended her if any Galra robot soldiers came.

"Great. Lance, how are you doing on your side?" He panted as he ran down the corridor.

"There aren't any prisoners on my side." He answered as he looks left and right.

"Keith?"

"Yeah, I'm getting the last of them in the space pod."

"Okay, I just have to check this hall." Shiro went down the last hallway using his jetpack, looking through the windows of the empty cells only coming up with nothing, and right before he was about to give up, he reached the end of the hall and heard a faint cry.

He immediately turned his jetpack off and rushed back. He felt confused and didn't know if he was hearing things, lately, they've been out rescuing planets more often and their training and workout have left them somewhat fatigued and worn out. As he reached the cell door Shiro noticed Galra soldiers on the other end of the hall.

A lot of them.

Shiro turned on his bionic arm as it buzzed to life with a purple glow. In seconds he took the door down. He was cautious as he was alert to the upcoming soldiers. He knew that he could end up being cornered if he entered the cell but that was a risk he had to take so he walked into the cell from where he heard the cry. He quickly scanned the small space around but didn't see anyone.

I could have sworn I heard someone here...

Shots were fired from the outside and Shiro decided to leave, knowing Pidge was almost done with the bomb, he had to get out of there. He ran back towards the exit but there was a sudden explosion, causing him to fly back and ram into the wall of another cell.

Shiro groaned in pain as he tried to stand. His vision was somewhat blurry and his ears rang. He looked around and noticed that the other Galra soldiers were caught in the blast too. It gave him the chance to run in the other direction, not before he heard a small

"Help me." Shiro whipped his head around only to see a small girl emerge from the corner of the cell.

A child?

He heard the footsteps of more incoming soldiers so he quickly went to pick up the child in his arms. As he was leaving, he could see the soldiers were getting way too close.

"Shiro, the bomb is ready. I just need your clear." Said Pidge as she made her way out along with Hunk.

"Wait a moment, I'm having a bit of trouble," Shiro said out of breath as he looked at his map on the holo-screen.

"Do you need help?-"

"No, Pidge, set it for 5 minutes, all of you start leaving."

"What about you?" Hunk asked worried about his leader.

"I'll be out in time, you guys just go on ahead." Shiro tried to start his jetpack but that last explosion left it inoperative so his only option was to start running. He knew he was getting close and he shut his helmet with a click but suddenly came to an abrupt stop. He couldn't just take this child to his lion, it was outside, where there was no air. Shiro started looking around to try and find any kind of spacesuit. He went breaking down doors in search of something, anything really. Eventually, he made it to a repair station and got a suit.

2 Minutes left.

The suit was obviously too big but it would have to suffice. He put the child inside of the suit and wrapped them up with the excess of the sleeves. He looked up and blasted the roof, the power of the suction instantly flew him out of the Galra ship but luckily Shiro called his lion to come to his rescue.

He stumbled inside and checked to see if you were okay and thankfully you were. He sighed in relief and took a seat. "Good job guys, let's head back to the castle." The paladins followed his orders and were on their way.

Everyone tiredly made their way to the bridge.

"Another successful mission I presume?" Coran asked as he did some check-ups on the castle.

"With me on the team? You bet it was." Lance answered whilst flexing his muscles and wiggling his eyebrows at Allura to which she only rolled her eyes and turned back to her work.

"I'm too tired to even give a comeback." Said Keith as he stretched his arms in the air.

"Well, I'm glad to hear everyone's alright," Allura added with a soft smile.

"Guys, has anyone seen Shiro?" Asked Hunk looking around. Just as he said that Shiro started walking into the room. You could hear Pidge mutter something like 'Speak of the devil...'

"Shiro, what happened back there?" Asked Pidge as she walked over to him somewhat concerned. As she got closer she could tell he was holding a strange object in his arms.

"What's that?" Asked Lance noticing as well and taking a step closer.

"Well, you see-" Shiro began but was interrupted by Hunk's excitement.

"Is that Galra tech!?" Hunk quickly made his way over to Shiro and slightly unwrapped what was in his arms.

"Um...that's not tech." Everyone raised an eyebrow in curiosity.

"What are you talking about?" Asked Keith, gaining interest.

"You see, there was another prisoner on that ship, and it was... her." Shiro took the uncomfortable suit off of you, allowing the others to get a good look at you.

"A little girl?!" Everyone exclaimed causing you to wake up startled. Your big eyes fluttered open as you held a tight grip on Shiro's armor, seeing everyone crowding around you. You feel yourself tear up, not knowing what was going on and feeling completely disoriented. But then you turn to look up at Shiro.

"Hey there... You're okay now, no one's going to hurt you." He assured you. You didn't say anything because you noticed you were being held up by a metal arm.

The kind you also would see that the 'Mean' People had.

Shiro noticed your fear but before he could try and calm you down you started to cry and tried to squirm out of his arms. Allura was the first to reach out to you and you gladly accepted her open arms.

"She must still be scared about what happened," Allura said as she tried to calm you down; holding you close to her chest.

"She must have gotten scared by your arm." Pidge added Shiro looked a bit embarrassed yet sad at the fact that he seemed scary to you.

"I'll go have her washed up and give her a change of clothes. Coran, please ready a room for our little guest." You had your face buried in Allura's chest, not wanting to look at the others.

"Rightyoh!" Coran said with a salute. Allura left the room along with Coran. Meanwhile, the others turned to look at their leader.

"So what the heck are we supposed to do with a kid?" Keith spoke up, arms crossed.

"We can't just abandon her, she's only like, what, 2? 3 years old?" Lance said, trying to do the math in his head.

"She is Human right? Cause she looked pretty human to me." Hunk questioned.

"And what's a little kid doing this far out in space?" Pidge asked out loud, trying to think of the possibilities.

"Look, I know we all have a lot of questions and I guess we'll get the answers to them later but for now she'll have to stay with us." Shiro had the final say in the situation.

Meanwhile...

"We're going to go take a nice and warm bath, okay?" Allura said to you as kindly as possible, not wanting to scare you.

You sniffed and wiped away your tears and nodded in agreement feeling a safe aura from her. You stared at her, wondering why she had strange markings on her face and...her ears! Was she a fairy?? Your eyes widened in wonder making Allura chuckle at your curiosity. She couldn't help but stare back at your beautiful big eyes. 

So cute!

Allura took you to her bathroom, turned on the water, and while she waited for it to warm up she helped you out of your clothes and then put you in the bath. You slowly started to relax as she rinsed all the grease and gunk out of your hair feeling much more at ease, you even started to play a little in the water. You splashed a bit of water and then brought your gaze back to Allura's ears. You reached over and touched them with a smile playing on your face.

Allura giggled. "You humans really are interesting." She put something that seemed like shampoo in your hair and started to scrub.

You humans? Does that mean she really is a fairy?

"What's your name?" She asked you seeing that maybe now you would be open to talking to her. You suddenly felt shy and looked down at the water as you moved your hands in the water.

"Are you still scared?" She asked sweetly. You nodded slowly and kept your gaze on the water in front of you.

"Alright..." Allura tried to think of ways to make you trust her and an idea suddenly came to mind. "If you want, you can ask me any question first." You whipped your head up to look at her, a bit of water splashing in the process.

"Are you a Fairy?" Was the first thing you asked. Allura looked at you confused, she's never heard the paladins talk about this so-called 'Fairy' so she wasn't sure what you were talking about.

"What is a Fairy?" She asked. You gasped in shock, how could she not know what a Fairy is???

"It's a pretty lady with wings and pointy ears and magic!" You threw water in the air for emphasis. Alura thought about it for a moment.

"Well, I'm not exactly a fairy but I am a Princess." This was even better!

"Princess??" You marveled at her as if she were some kind of spiritual being. She giggled before answering.

"Yes, I am Princess Allura of Altea." You gave her a big smile.

"Y/n." Allura raised her eyebrows.

"Is that your name?" You nodded. "What a beautiful name for a beautiful girl." She tapped your nose playfully making you giggle sweetly.

"How old are you?" She asked another question. You tilted your little head as you thought about it, not really remembering. Then you managed to hold 3 little fingers.

"Three? I think that means years for humans right?" You looked at her with a confused expression making Allura laugh slightly. "Nevermind." You paid no mind to it and continued playing in the water felling a lot better. "Now, how about I rinse you off and we get you some new clothes?" You nodded your head in agreement.

Once that was over, Allura took you to her room and she took out some of her 'old' baby clothes. If they can preserve a person for 10,000 years, they can preserve some old clothes.

"This seems like a good fit," She held up her favorite dress when she was a little girl. You raised your small arms, letting her dress you. "Perfect!" She clapped her hands in glee.

"Thank you, Mommy." You said remembering your manners.

"Mommy?" She asked you confused. You nodded your head. Something about her was familiar and welcoming, it just made you want to call her

"Mommy." You repeated. Allura looked at you with kind eyes, she felt so honored being called as so. She smiled and outstretched her hand towards you.

"What do you say we head back to see the rest of the paladins?"

"Pala-dinsh?" You tried to repeat the foreign word.

"Exactly! Shall we go?" You slowly and carefully reached out and took her hand in your small one.

The two of you walked down the HUGE hallway, back to the room you woke up in before.

Everyone stopped their conversation and look at you two as you entered. Almost instantly you hid behind Allura; letting your head peek out on the side.

"Well, her name is Y/n, she said she's only 3 of your earth years. That's the only thing she has told me so far, oh, and she mentioned that she thought I was a Fairy."

"Well, she's not wrong." Pidge shrugged her shoulders. You looked around noticed the man with the robotic arm and hid slightly further. Allura noticed your actions and reached over to pat your head in reassurance.

"He won't do you any harm Y/n. He's a good person." You slowly nodded your head, understanding that maybe he really wasn't like the mean people.

"Awww! She's adorable!" Hunk was the first to walk over to you and kneeled to your size. "My name is Hunk." He introduced himself to you. You poked your head out a bit more, getting curious.

"H-Hunnn? Hunnnnk!" You repeated.

"Guys, this is too much cuteness." Hunk said while tearing up. "Can I adopt her?" Hunk asked after hearing your cute voice. Pidge smacked him upside the head and walked over to you too.

"My names Pidge. Can you say P-i-d-g-e?" She enunciated.

"Pi-Pidge" You said a bit louder and you took another sidestep so now your whole body was in view.

"Hey! It's my turn!" Lance Walked over to you and surprised you when he picked you up and carried you in the air. You were caught off guard at first but then you couldn't help but laugh. Everyone else smiled seeing you feeling better. Lance stopped spinning you and carried you in his arms.

"My names Lance! Can you say, Lance?" He asked staring at your big e/c eyes.

"Lanceee!" You said cheerfully while clapping your hands.

"Good job! His name is Shiro! Can you try and say, Shiro?" You turned to look at the person who had saved you.

"Chi- Shh-o" You furrowed your little eyebrows, getting frustrated at the fact that you couldn't say it as easily as the others. Shiro walked over to you and Lance and bent down so that he was holding himself up by his knees and at your height.

"Shi-ro." He enunciated his name to try and help you out.

"Chi....o" You frustration raised but then you noticed that you could call him something else to make things easier, so you decided on "Daddy!" You smiled and clapped your hands feeling good about saying that word right.

The others look at each other and tried to hold in their laughter while Shiro looked at you with a blushing face.

"Congrats, you are now deemed Space Dad!" Lance teased.

"What?!" Shiro was about to correct you but Lance cut him off.

"Now how about Keith?" Lance walked over to the boy with black hair. "He's Keith, can you say Keith?" Lanced asked you. You thought about it for a while but in one go you said.

"Keef!"

"Pfft-Bahahahahaha!" Lance couldn't hold in his laughter. "Good job Y/n!" He lifted his hand up and you gladly gave him the strongest high five you could muster.

"What?! How is that even remotely close to K-E-I-T-H." He complained.

"Oh! And this is-" Lance was about to introduce Allura but you interrupted him, already knowing her name.

"Mommy!" You reached your hands out toward her, signaling that you wanted to be carried by her.

Everyone stayed quiet.

"Space mom?" Pidge couldn't help but say it out loud. Allura and Shiro looked at each other with blushing red faces knowing what it meant when you called them 'Mom' and 'Dad'.

"*Ahem*" Keith interrupted the snickering. Everyone turned to look at him. "Need I remind you all that we're paladins of Voltron and we have a mission which is to defeat Zarkon, not babysit a kid." The group exchanged some looks knowing he was right.

"Well...We just finished a big mission today and we've been at it non stop lately, why don't we take the rest of the day off so we can settle things down?" Said Allura as she rocked you from side to side seeing you start to get sleepy.

"We should be using this time to plan out the next mission," Keith said getting annoyed. Shiro walked over to him and placed an arm on his shoulder.

"Come on Keith, just for today. We'll use this time to see how we're going to do with a new member around." Keith sighed.

"Whatever." Keith shrugged his hand off of him. "You guys do what you want, I'm going to the training deck." With that said, he made his way out and you looked at him, curious as to why he was so grumpy. But your curiosity soon faded when you heard a certain noise coming from your stomach.

"Looks like someone's hungry!" Hunk said cheerfully. "Oh, it's going to be so much fun to making baby food!" Hunk walked out with the others trailing behind.

I wonder how this will turn out...

Shiro thought as he followed behind.
