||An event| |

"Oh God, is he in the bus? Is he stalking me? Who might be the one, among these?" Nihi heard her little talk to herself and shook her head with disbelief.

"Hey hey cool down. What are you talking about? And who is stalking you?" She asked to her tensed friend and Lasya seems like she is ready to pull her hairs out of her scalp!

That much of frustration.

'uh oh.. I forgot that I was in the bus. oh Boi, I shouldn't have shouted like that. Now, what will I tell to Nihi? Argh' Lasya thought in her mind. She shook her head.

"No, nothing like that. I was just thinking about something you know. It's just.. nevermind just forget it." Lasya tried to make her understand. 'i must change the topic otherwise I will have to tell every damn thing about my admirer.' she sighed and put her phone inside her pant pocket.

It's not like Lasya doesn't ever want to tell about it to her friends. It's just that she doesn't know how to share as she has never had anyone to discuss or reveal.

"Hey Nihi, tell me if you have completed your assignment or not?" Lasya asked while she took her assignments out of the bag.

"Yeah, I have tried to complete it but I missed on two topics which I am not able to understand. It will be great if you help me with that." Nihi also took her assignments out from the file and gave it to her. Lasya checked it and explained the rest of the two topics.

Nihi wrote the main points lasya shared with her on her rough book so that she could fill it in her file thus finishing off of her assignments once they reaches college.

Nihi is very impressed with her friend. She knows Lasya struggles a lot in her life to lead a normal life yet she is very confident and intelligent in every work she takes. Her friend  is indeed a blessed girl in her life even though there were only downs till now but she tries to be a phoenix who try to fly from wherever it's possible that too whatever might be the situations.

Nihi smiled at her and placed a kiss on her cheek and whispered a 'thank you'. Lasya too side hugged her tightly but frowned a bit. Nihi noticed it.

"Why are you frowning now?" She asked in confusion.

This question made Lasya's temper to rise and she scowled at her, with more agresssion.

"We are still friends, right? Aren't we?" Lasya whisper yelled making her gulp in fear.

"Oops, sorry dear. I understand I shouldn't have tell you 'thank you'. Yes, I forgot." Nihi said by holding her hands on her ears in a apologetic way. "It won't happen again. I promise. Now, please be cool"

Lasya fake angered, "you better be"

Nihi nodded her head frantically, practically telling her like she is ok with what ever she say.

Lasya chuckled seeing her hands on her ears. They gave a HiFi and started talking about some random things.

Meanwhile, Shravas couldn't control his laughter seeing Lasya's face when she was searching for her admirer all around the bus.

'oh God, she is just cute. My cutiepie. Her cheeks were red in embarrassment thinking her admirer could see her. Ha, that's kinda funny but perhaps, it was really good to bring her cheeks to scarlet with in a matter of seconds.' he thought while looking at her.

"Anyways I should be very careful around her. But what is she really doing to me?" He asked himself like a mere whisper looking at her. "Oh God, how much I love her? I wanna embrace her in my arms. Please God, let me get my ever first and last love Lasya in my life."

"Nihi, how's your parents and sister?", Lasya asked her after a while.

"Yeah, they are all fine", Nihi said smiling at her and they watched as the buildings pass.

"One more thing I have to tell you, my sister is getting engaged soon", Nihi added.

"Wow, that's a great news. What is her would-be doing?", Lasya couldn't help but to ask.

"He is an engineer, working in Japan", Nihi replied.

"Damn, she is lucky. After marriage she too can work abroad", Lasya said dreamily.

"Well, she is not that interested in working. She wants to be a housewife", Nihi nibbled her upper lip.

"Oh", Lasya voice out. "Tell me more about her dreams", Lasya trailed for which she got a chuckle from Nihi.

"She wants to have a stress free life, along with two kids and a loving husband", Nihi said looking at her.

Lasya was keenly listening to her, she also has the same dreams like her. Until now she has earned and was working and now in future all she wants is to have a happy loving family of her own where she will be the one centre of attention as everyone would pour their love towards her.

Lasya sighed thinking it all will be a hopeless dream.

"Wow, that's cute. Convey my wishes to her", Lasya said.

"Sure La. I will send you the invitation. You should come", Nihi said smiling at her.

"Yeah, I wouldnt miss the food for world...", La said and both of them erupted into a loud laughter.

Shravas was content seeing her laughing without any care in this world. He was adoring her from the distance. Shaking his thoughts away, he looked out of the building.

Within few minutes, they reached the college and everyone dispersed to their respective classes.

In the college, Shravas was busy with doing some arrangements for upcoming event. Whereas Lasya was fully indulged in her studies and assignments.

As Lasya was listening to her teacher, one of the student from other class knocked on the door.

"Ma'am, may I get in?" Random Student asked. Teacher nodded her head.

"Ma'am, I have an announcement to make. Is it okay if I take your two minutes?" He asks with hesitation.

"Yes please. But make it fast." Teacher said and moved away so that student can take her place and do the announcement.

"Well friends, I am Ajith. I am your senior. I am here for an announcement to make. It's regarding a competition and it's  paper presentation type. So guys, if anyone is interested please give me the names now itself. The event is day after tomorrow and it's conducted by our department together with Electronics. It's an individual paper presentation competition. The winner and runner up will get a chance to participate in coming national level technical paper presentation competition. Hurry up guys, let's do this."  He said in one go.

Lasya was surprised and little bit of shocked. She is a studious girl and she doesn't want to miss this chance of proving herself she is capable. She inquired the same with her two friends to which they just ignored cause who wants to do extra work other than studying. Lasya couldn't believe and looked at them with disbelief.

"Come on guys, it's a one time opportunity. Let's give it a chance." Lasya asked in a voice with full of hope expecting them to agree with her.

They looked each other first and sighed together. Lasya giggled and gave her a victory smirk.

It worked! Her way of giving the looks takes them to flip their decision.

"Okay we will do this" they said it together.

Lasya being quick, raised her hand in air getting his attention.

"We three are interested in participating in the event. But let us know what should be the topic?" Lasya said with full excitement.

"Oh wow, let me note down your names. Yes, the topic will be of your choice and it should be latest technology. That's it. You should have a proper PPT and a hard copy of the paper in IEEE format. That's the only condition we have." He says writing down their names.

Some of them in their class also give their names and he left the room giving us an entry-fill up form that has to be submitted by today afternoon in their department. The students who has given their names hurriedly filled it and the teacher asked Lasya to collect it and requested her to submit on the lunch break. Lasya nodded back.

The class went on and two hours already passed. Now Lasya has to go to the department to submit the forms and then she has to join her friends for the lunch at their usual place i.e. in canteen.

Lasya headed faster than her usual speed cause she is already hungry and the one thing she always lose is to food. Taking the permission from one of the staff in the department, she entered into her HOD's cabin.

There she was shocked to see Shravas arranging something on her cupboard. He didn't see her coming because her HOD just gestured her to come in.

"Ma'am, here is the forms of students from my class who are interested in participating in the upcoming event." She said giving the bundle to her.

"Okay, please be careful while preparing the paper. It should be perfect and yes, I hope you are into the event?" She asked in anticipation clear in her voice.

"Yes ma'am, I am interested in and looking forward to this competition. I wish I could be the winner", Lasya said with full confidence.

"Aww Lasya, you will be and you can be as you know you have that talent in you to defeat any obstacle. So, prepare well and if you want I can help you", HOD said looking lovely at her.

"Sure ma'am. I will prepare one and then I can show it to you if you want to go through. If there is any mistakes you shall rectify me so that I can learn from the mistakes. But seriously maam, thank you as with out your support I wouldn't be doing anything here", Lasya said smiling at her.

"I appreciate the best minds and beautiful ladies", HOD said in a wink making her giggle continuously.

Shravas who was listening to all their conversation, was feeling proud of her. Despite of all her work, she chose to give this event a thought and is proudly saying that she can be the winner. Such a determination in her attitude. 'I love her for this' he thought.

"Well then ma'am, if you allow, I am heading to have lunch. So,?", Lasya trailed

"Yeah sure Lasya. All the best", HOD wished her.

"Thank you", saying this she turned to her left to leave herself surprised.

Shravas was there standing with files in his hands, and he was already looking at her with some kind of emotions highly showing it in his eyes but she couldn't decipher what it is! She gave him an awkward smile and excused herself from the staff room.

"God, she is cute. Oh my love, what should I do to know my feelings", Shravas said lowly looking at the door where Lasya left.

She quickly took long strides to canteen to join her friends and she is going to be there for sometime as there were no classes in the afternoon.

"Hey Lasya. You came and did you gave the forms to it HOD? And what did she say?" Pooja asked while taking a bite of her pasta from her tiffin box. She doesn't like canteen food so she has always gets her food from her home.

Lasya sighed and sat near her facing opposite to nihi.

"Yeah, I gave to her and she wishes us all the best. She is actually looking forward to this event and she hopes our department gives the winner for this event." Lasya replied shrugging her shoulders as it is not a big deal and started eating biriyani which her friend has already setup infront of her.

"Oh that's great. Now, first eat after that we will talk", Nihi said and pushed her glass of water.

While eating, Lasya was thinking about Shravas. How good he is at everything he do? He is favourite of everyone.

"His parents are lucky to have him", Lasya wondered gulping down the morsel.

Shravas was admiring her from a corner of the canteen, a secluded place where he can still listen to her conversation with friends while chugging his sandwich. He had always carry a smile when he thinks about her and it helps him calm even more.

"I wish, you win this event Lasya. I bestow every success in your life" he thought in his mind.

"Lasya, what have you decided? I mean on which topic you are going to present your paper?" Pooja asked

Lasya looked at them and thought for a while before replying.

"I guess I will go with some thing related to cloud computing. It's the latest trend. What about you, poo and Nihi?"

Pooja nodded her head in understanding and gave her a thumbs up.

"Well, I am going with steganography and place some cryptic codes."

"Wow, that's really a good one indeed. I am sure Pooja, you are going to win in this." Lasya encouraged her sipping the water.

"I am going to take network Management in space and how it helps in providing with accurate information." Nihi said after a minute.

Lasya raised an eyebrow at nihi and gave her are-you-really-going-to-pull-that-up? Look to which she got a chuckle back.

"It's a good one. But there seems to be a lot more into it. So I guess it's a little tough topic for this paper presentation. If you really wanna win then we should go for a close end topics which we will be well prepared for any kind of questions." Lasya made Nihi understanding and she sighed and let them know she will be choosing some other topic.

Shravas heard their topics and had a smile on his face when Lasya explained Nihi on her selection of topic. He also know she was right and yes, if she go with that topic she may get eliminate in first round itself.

'my girl is indeed intelligent, gosh how I wish to take her in my arms. Just to hug maybe' Shravas thought it while munching his sandwich.

After the lunch, Shravas looked around to spot her. She found him under a tree, near the canteen reading a book. She was surrounded with lots of books, and she was  reading one of it, with concentration.

Her friends accompanied her in reading as they also have books with them. They were busy gathering information for the presentation next week.

That was he thought!

Shravas sighed and giving one long look, he hurried quickly out of the canteen place as he has to accompany their Hod to a student's council meeting.
