I don't know why I still can't let her go from my mind. But my mind is like, this girl or any other girl but my heart is adamant to let go of this girl. It is pressurizing me to go and get her for my life.

I am fed up actually, with this battle between my mind and my heart. It's like a tug of words playing between them and I am like stuck up in between.

So, I called up my best friend Melvin, who is working as an investigative journalist. I am going to find all the details about her and going to get her in my life forever. I will make her fall in love with me.

"Melvin, I need help from you and it should be a secret between us, what say ? will you do me a favor for me?" I asked in hesitation at first and he could hear a Chuckle from another side.

"Well, Shravas. Hi to you too first" he said sarcastically "and yes, I will do the favor but I didn't know you were so desperate. What's the matter that you even forgot about greeting me?" Melvin whined.

I huffed at his complaint "I am sorry. Hi Melvin how are you? And please do pass my regards to uncle and aunty. Now, will you do me a favor which is very important to me as of now?" I smirked since I did greet him beating his ego and I could hear a stifled giggle from the other side even if it is over the phone, he knows how to tackle me.

"How I wish to wipe that smirk off from your lovely face my bro! Ok, I will pass your regards. Then yes, I will do the favor. Tell me what I have to do?" He replied in a cool manner keeping his laughter at bay.

"Well...I...the...." I stammered a bit not knowing how to ask or what to tell.

"I guess this is the first time you are stammering. So I guess this must be very really important to you and if I am not wrong, this must probably a girl matter, right bro?" I gasped hearing his bluntness.

"Well, yeah a sort of. It's really weird to tell you this instead of telling it to her first. I kinda fallen for her in the first place like you can tell love at first sight. But I do know that there is no love at first sight as such cause as far as I know there is only lust at first sight but trust me when I say, I am least concerned or say bothered to have physical affection with her. I just want her in my life so I could sleep watch her or say feed her or say caress her to sleep. I just want those basic things. I don't know. Seriously Melvin, please help me with this. I am not able to handle myself. And here my mind and heart are in a war with each other. So all of a sudden you came into my mind and hence called you to know more about her like about her family, her education, her status as in boyfriend or something", I said in a go whereas my mood was all nervous and I guess he would have guessed it by now. Cause he was silent, and till now he was listening to me. I like someone listening to be eager.

After a minute or so,

I can hear full-blown laughter from Melvin and I wish I could just smack him now on his head. But unfortunately, he is on the other side of the phone.

I grunted making him hear.

"ok ok. I understand. I will help you. But for your information, I must say that you are truly a whipped man. I am happy for you now. You never ever had a girl in your life. I wish you get her." Melvin said.

I am happy after hearing his positive words for me.

"Thanks, bro. Well, I will msg you the address of her apartment. Please do find all the inner and outer details about her."

I wanted to know everything about her beforehand and it's not that I will judge her it's just that I wanted to make sure I am not going to be the third wheel in her life.

"Mention not bro, sure I will. Don't worry and if you let me two days, I will provide you with all the details about her" said Melvin with sincerity lacing in his voice.

I thought for a second, "yeah, take two days and let me know everything about her. Especially her relationship status, please. I hope you know what I mean."

"Yes, I know bro. I don't know why, but my sixth sense is telling me that she is single and you will have her in your life", he assured me.

I hope his words turn out to be true to believe.

"Wow, if that's true then the next treat will be mine and it will be whatever you want. I guarantee you"

I heard a heaved sigh from him and I just smiled at how I make him irritate this much still he won't stop doing anything for me.

"Okay, that will do. I will call you in two days and I am going to hung up on you now cause I got to go for a meeting with my boss now. Gotta go bro bye."

I am sure now I am not going to get any sleep for two days until I meet you, Melvin.

"Okay, will do. Bye will meet you in two days"

I cut the call and stared at my phone for more than a minute. It's not what your thinking. I was not looking at Melvin's call I'd instead I was staring my girl. Yes, you read it right.

I have had her pic when she was in the cafe and I captured her smiling face with her few strands of hair disturbing her from talking. She is simply beautiful to admire!

After two days,

It's been two sleepless nights since I called Melvin to inquire about her. Today is the day, which will decide my fate. He will call me at any minute. I am eagerly waiting for his call since morning. It's afternoon now and yet he didn't call me. I hope everything is fine.

Just then to break from my train of thoughts, my phone started ringing. I quickly attend the call without looking at the caller ID.

"Hello Melvin"

I didn't hear anything from the other side for a few seconds. So I just pulled away from my phone and stared at the screen to see the caller ID. And to my surprise, it did show Melvin's name.

"Then why he is not speaking."

This thought made me panic for something which I didn't know.

"Melvin, tell me what happened? Why are you silent? Did you get what I have asked you for?"

After a minute of long silence, he spoke

"Bro, I would like to meet you at Royals cafe within 15 minutes. Please do come" saying so he cut the call. I didn't know what to do.

My forehead was sweating and I am feeling nervous. I made up my mind to accept any fact that he is going to give me and stormed towards the main door when my mom interrupted behind me.

"Vasu, why are you so tensed? Is everything okay?"

I didn't turn to look at her because if she sees me she will come to know that I am off already and it's the last thing I wish now.

"Nothing ma, I am just going to have a meet up with Melvin. It seems he is in need of something. I will be right back" saying so, I just opened the front door.

I heard my mom say "okay, don't worry everything will be alright." I run my fingers over my hair with frustration as my mom caught me being worried.

She is indeed my loving mom. She knows me well. I let out a groan and quickly hopped on the car and drove to my destination. Within 10 minutes, I was parking my car. I went inside the cafe and spotted him at a corner seat. I waved my hand and he nervously smiled at me. It made me think worse and I am just going to hear whatever he has to say about her.

As I moved to his table, I see a file in front of him and he was eagerly tapping his fingers on it. He stood up and hug me.

"Hey Melvin, hope I didn't make you wait for long?" He pulled away from the hug and shook his head.

"Come sit and let's have a coffee first"

I nod my head and he called out the waiter and placed two cappuccino. Once the waiter left, he heaved a sigh and let out a huff.

"Dude, tell me what's the matter? If she has a partner already then there is no need to tell me. I don't want to be the third wheel and I will move on from her, seriously."

As I said, he just stared at me with I don't know some indescribable emotion.

"Melvin, why are you staring at me like that?" I thought he is in a trance of staring at me so I just snapped my fingers at him and he straightened himself. But, by then the waiter came with our orders.

"Nothing like that bro. Everything is fine. I just want to know how you picked her up in the first place?"

I didn't understand what he meant. I just looked at him with utter confusion and well that helped him to read my mind as he started to say.

"I asked you about how did you fall for her in the first place without knowing anything about her?" I frowned at him.

"What? Uh...um... Why should I know about who is she, just to fall in love?"
He shook his head in disbelief.

"I just saw her smiling face and her eyes were something that caught me off guard. I just knew then and there it's she whom I should spend my entire life with" I added and completed with a dreamy smile.

I looked at him and his mouth was wide open as he is contemplating to say something.

"Melvin, tell me who and what's her name? And does she have a boyfriend?" I asked him with worry etched on my face with a hope that he would tell me that she is single.

But the next words from him made me shock as well as surprised me to my core.

"Well, She is 18 and a sort of orphan and most importantly she is almost single," he said ever slowly to read my expression.

I gasped from his newly found information.

"What are you saying? She is orphan? Doesn't she have anyone in her life?"

I felt bad for her thinking about how she might have spent her life until now being all alone. Gosh, I can see my eyes tearing up. In this case, I am so lucky cause I have a family to call as mine and there are people who care about me and my well being. But for her, there is no one. I so want to hug her right now at this moment as I could feel how much she is important to me in my life now.

Oh God, the truth sucks really bad. I feel devastated thinking about her situation yet she finds happiness around just to make sure to smile every day.

Oh God, how pathetic her life is. I wish I could take all her pains away from her life.

How I wish to embrace her in my arms and give her everything she desires.

"Bro, it's sad that she has no one in her life to take care of her. Neither her parents nor her any lovers. But only a friend Tina." Melvin started again slowly making sure about my mental stability.

I heard that name before. I don't remember where. But yes, I do might know her.

"What's her name and what is she doing for a living?" I asked sipping my coffee as it could give me much strength to think clearly. Cause I feel like I am an emotional wreck.

"Well, she has got a unique name, Lasya and her life are full of struggles. She does three odd jobs just to earn a living to have a normal life just like us. And she is in love with her Ritchie."

I narrowed my eyes at him and he let me a knowing giggle. "Dude, you better tell me who is this she is in love with. You told me she is single. Then how come she is in love with some stupid Ritchie."

'I so want to smack that idiot Ritchie' I mentally started kicking his ass. But when I saw a smirk forming on Melvin's face all of a sudden, I knew something is not right!
