CATALINA

It has been a fortnight since I received your last letter and I know it is wrong that I have taken so long to answer. I assume perhaps you have moved on if you are running, but if you are not then this is my reply.

In all the madness of these last few years, I have now been named Lord Commander of the Nights Watch. I have never been more honored and still I am conflicted as to whether I deserve it or not.

I do not know how you think I could forget you, I think of you with every breath. The cold dark pit in my chest that contains a heart beats only when the thought of you passes through my mind. You are the only reason I have not been lost to the coldness here like most of these other men.

Things are going to change soon, I can feel it deep inside. I worry for the future.
